I have ALWAYS been attracted to the 1950's. I know that it was far from perfect . In the back of my head I always thought I would be a great housewife in that time. Thanks for the video
Oh how I wished I grew up in that era
Be glad you didn't
Betty Arel why?
@@theanimalguy3077 I was emotionally and mentally abused during that time period and it took a great deal of time to get myself straight
@@bettyarel8941 Sorry to hear that- God can heal all wounds though...
IT WAS the best !!
Each individual's actual pay also depended on their _gender and race._ Kind of important to include that.
Wasn't a perfect time but I'll gladly go visit if I could...and stay there.
That is where I grew up !1We are the generation that got to enjoy it ,
Thanks for sharing!
I can't begin to count the ways the '50's were the best overall time in the history of this country. Seems everything was clean and bright, everyone's spirit was ALIVE, and there was a sense that everything was going to be all right. I know there are detractors out there, but in many ways - when you think about it - you know I'm right!
Well there was segregation and discrimination of everybody that wasn‘t white or straight.
I'm marathoning these history video series. And when 1930s were finished, after several minutes of searching for 1940s daily life video, only then I realized that I'm stupid dumb ass
I think Jerry Lee Lewis is still alive.......amazing considering his lifestyle. I remember lots of these things, including drive-in theaters. Some of what he's saying about family life comes straight out of a Father Knows best, and can't apply for many, especially for working women and minorities.
hi reading though history and everyone good afternoon I really injoyed this I remember the early 60's before thing started to change in 1967 for the good the bad the total some mostly for the worst but it's not all bad even to day I know some good family's with teen's and kid's that are sort of like the the family's in this video there kid's good manners and respect they even live in a bad nabor hood and still the parents are doing great job raising there kid's there teen's and kid's are honest they wouldn't steal any damm thing good mannered and they show respect to there parent's and other people there never loud or rude and they been raising there in the 2000's yes there is some hope I wish there was lot more like these people :-)
Didnt you already upload this video!
With regards to the 1950s, have you seen _Lovecraft Country_ on HBO? The horror-themed historical drama is set in the 1950s. Yes, I know all the supernatural stuff probably did not happen, but do you like the show otherwise?
_"probably"?_
@@Billy_Bad_Ass Do you think it did happen?
Didn’t you upload this before?
Yes, we had to redo it because of a mistake concerning Jackie Robinson. One of the great flaws of UA-cam is that they will not let you swap a video out. So, if a mistake is bad enough, we have to upload the video again. Unfortunately.
Isn't this a reupload
Yes, we had to remake it due to an error in the script.
I find it interesting how majority of white men love this time, and you have a decent amount of women that find that era appealing. However, for the women, it’s important to know… The reason every picture has a housewife smiling, it’s because the women were extremely miserable and they try to convince people that housewives were happy… That’s why they’re always smiling FYI. Also.. if these times were supposed to be that good, then why did we fight like hell to get out of it? Don’t go back to an era that people fought to get out of… Appreciate where you are.
We’re in the Information Age don’t get stuck in 1950
Not the best time at all.
