- The Renault Clio series was announced in 1990 and was a successor of the famous Renault 5. The Clio series contains therefore 5 models where 2 of them (Clio 1 and 3) were awarded “Car of The Year prices. 30 years of history, that is not (surprise) celebrated loudly by the manufacturer. The 5 generations were announced in 2019 and the factory LPG powered version is offered since June 2020.
The car tested in today’s episode is equipped with a 1.0-liter engine featuring an LPG (Liquid Petrol Gas) installation that is fitted on the production line in the factory. There is no need for any knowledge from the driver side to use this solution: the system automatically switches between two power sources if needed. The LPG tank allows storing 32 liters of LPG fuel.

Mateusz Mateo tak dotyczy tez wersji lpg która będzie mieć dalej 100km, a wersja czysto benzynowa będzie słabsza, 90 km.

Are you sure this is the Zen version? C-shape DRL LEDs should be available starting with the Intens version. Below Intens, there should be only a chrome ornament on the lower part of the headlights. Cheers for the awesome video! 🍺😎👍

@@CarRambler1 Hehe, the weirdest part is that almost all UA-cam vids with Clio "Zen" have this exact same situation. The C-Shape headlights are not even optional for the Zen version. Sneaky dealers I guess. 🤷♂️

Nice video, I was actually looking for a video of the LPG version. Is it more powerful than the regular petrol 100 hp as written by many journalists?
Hi, on paper the normal vesion is faster (Goes less than one second quicker to 100km/h:p). I didnt drive it sorry. I think that in recenzions many People read the previous ones and get influenced. For egzample there is a rumer that this engine vibrate very much. I didnt feel it in my case... I also have driven 0.9 renault clio 4 and it also didnt mąkę any vibration. The sound of the engine is different and there is a lag in response it needs to spin up and start accelerate after 2 seconds.
@@CarRambler1 I see, so always try the car by yourself instead of listening to all the people saying the engine vibrates much or is not powerful enough (as if we all needed 300+ hp). I do get the feeling that for driving in the city and on highways at legal speeds its more than enough (I got a Dacia Sandero LPG at the moment which I want to change next year as the service cost is starting to get high....)
@@Ms61 The problem with profesional tester is that they get all cars to test for free and do not take i under consideration someone might not need a 20 000 euro car. I own a Fiat Tipo and for my needs its OK. Im a bit conserned about durability of thouse new engine, still if you plan to buy a new car this will not be Your problem.
@@CarRambler1 Exactly, they only compare between the cars but don't always think about everyone's needs. As you said, many people only need a car to go to work and don't need any fancy options or big engine. Yes those 3-cylinder engines don't look like they can work as long as previous generation 4 cylinder engines. Also at the same time, this Clio 5 has a big opponent with the new Dacia Sandero which is now very close to the Clio and has the same engine and chassis
@@Ms61 Dacia is geting beter from generation to generation. Of course there is Renault technology behind it. At The begining they tended to add older Renault technology to Dacia nowdays probably this must change due emission limuts in UE.
Nice video. The vehicle is a good idea although it is not specified the great joke of Renault that in the Clio LPG, they have deactivated the on-board computer. Reason...? They have detected that the data it provides is not reliable, so in order to avoid complaints from users, they have decided to eliminate this equipment. Problem that entails, ... that the trip computer is associated with the trip computer, so it cannot be seen on the screen.

@@CarRambler1 Effectively. The main tank is gasoline, but it has a supplementary LPG tank that allows it to cover 350km. By carrying both fuels they have disabled the on-board computer.

@@fernandoherrerosanchez340, yo tengo el Clío Zen GLP con EasyLink , y en el concesionario me efectuaron un "añadido" o actualización del software y me salen los datos tanto de GLP como de gasolina, aunque no sé cuán fiables pueden ser, pero por mi apreciación se parecen bastante a la realidad. Eso sí, el consumo instantáneo no lo da, lo actualiza cada x minutos. En cuestión de una hora aproximadamente me lo actualizaron.

Hi didn't measure. On lower rpm it was rather quiet. The problem is you must spin the engine to get the torque, than it's lauder.
Dziwna jest ta polityka Renault. Clio 1.0 LPG ma skrzynię 5, a nowa Dacia Sandero z tym samym silnikiem ma skrzynię 6...
:) zależy jak zestrojone... Czasami 5 lepiej niż 6 - mniej ma Hania a czasami na 5ce brakuje przelozenia

@@CarRambler1 testowałem ostatnio sandero stepway w gazie i cliowke ta z gamy na 2021 oba 6 biegów. Clio wydawało mi się szybsze i mniej gazu paliło. Pewnie przez to że od sandero stepway ma mniejsze opory powietrza, przez to że jest niższe. Tak samo majas teraz talismana 1.8 225km w benzynie pali mi 7.5l, więcej palił mi poprzedni samochód captur 1.3 w benzynie bodaj 120km😉 dziwne te auta 😂😂

Other reviewers say its about 7,5- 8 litres LPG. I didn't test that, because got the car only for 1 day. You can try to borrow a Reanult clio v for a 24h test drive like I did and test the fuel consumption on Your own. I didnt focus on that...
@@CarRambler1 tnx very much for your fast reply. Just one more... if you compare sound insulation this model and previous model... is difference significant or it is the same?
They have a bit different engines. See in specs. The clio 4 had weaker engine. Clio 5 looked better and was noticable more quiet. The engine is dynamic but it has a lag before you spin it it drivers very slow. This is something we have to get used to in turbo gasoline engines. If i miss a feeling of constant acceleration than i drive my 2,7 litres Rover from 1964. :)
6,5 lt/100 average,with full tank approximately 500km in highway 120km/hr,in the city less,but you can choose eco in the city.
