Midsommar reference in midsummer??? And a bop??? QUEENS Edit: okkkk wtf??? I just realized today (24/6) is Sweden’s midsummer festival??? omg I literally get goosebumps
This song fascinates me because it's deceptively cheery, and the video is unsettling in a dreamy way. The chorus is interesting because it sounds like an ABBA song. The album is all vibes. The way this song opens and Night Drive closes, it's as close to perfect as perfect gets for me.
Didnt try to watched that tho after I've know whats real Midsommar is. Creepy but Midsommar if u realize was the Midsummer culture, way back 2 thousand years ago Midsummer festival nor solstice summer of swedish nor some part of Northern european who celebrate this are really involved of Cult-pagan thing even tho they believed and are Christian.
I love this comeback so much! The song def gives me “Creep” by Radiohead at certain points with the melody and chord progression. And I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.
MV is inspired by Midsommar (the movie). The film is inspired by a Swedish tradition of celebrating the summer solstice. The summer solstice is the most lovely and familiar tradition of Sweden, its original country, everyone is in a good mood. Fairycore, mysterious forest vibrations, June 19-26, the summer night are considered "magic and mysterious", it is believed that during this period the plans can have "healing" and can predict the future, already the young, You have to tear in silence not to break the magic, 7 different species of flowers and put under the pillow to dream of your beloved that will be sent the next day by the cosmos (so the boy's reference falling from the sky at the beginning of the MV, and they run to see who takes him first). It is a great party full of mysticism that Swedish families respect a lot, it is also the biggest holiday in Sweden, only a few countries celebrate this beyond Swedish, and is celebrated in very different ways depending on the country. But the film was specifically inspired by Midsommar in Sweden, which is what they make reference in MV. Traditions between countries have some difference and similarities. Like: Belarus, Poland and Finland, which is the greatest similarities in the original traditions of Sweden. Even having a company that is not giving due value to these divas, and even with low budget they have turned powder into gold, and still proved once again, with a million views in 3 hours, which must be much more while posting this), to confirm that they are the best group of live idols. Red velvet you will always be unique !! ❤🌺🌹🌼🌸🌻🪴🌹🌺👏👏👏
Not really but it probably has some ABBA inspiration, especially because ABBA is also from Sweden. I can hear the ABBA-ish reference in the chorus too but it doesn't look like a sample to me.
I didn't have much hope for this album after I heard it was going to be a red concept, but it's actually pretty good. Nowhere near as good as Chill Kill but way better than most of the so so red albums.
Fun fact the producer of the song is also swedish!

Midsommar is one of my favorite movies & Red Velvet is my fav group! This concept was perfect for them!
This is a perfect summer song, and it retains the same Red Velvet feel we are all used to, great production and music, and visuals, and chereo.
You can hear a bit of abba in the song. Love the vibe. I dont understand bit it makes you a bit emotional.
I feel the same about it...I'm so emotional to realize the swedish/ABBA theme concept.

You have to watch the movie midsommar and you’ll enjoy the MV ten times more, the movie is scary though😭 but still a good watch!
I'm gonna assume this comment is for the other people watching this video lol
I haven't actually seen it yet. I've heard both good and bad things about it.
I'll have to watch it tonight.

I was upset about the release delay with SM but I'm absolutely in love with the song, the MV, and the rest of the album too. ❤ I loved your reaction!

Lol... how can you tell the songwriting team for this song was Swedish?
This makes me want to break out my old ABBA records.
I love red velvet ♡♡♡😊
The chorus just flows like that cuz its 6 bars instead of the typical 8. And the post chorus is the chorus progression but double time
And it makes the song more interesting
And it makes the song more interesting
And it makes the song more interesting
Get ready for Red Velvet 2024 Domination❤🧡💙💚💜
너무 좋죠?
한국 노래 좋은 거 많아요.^^

Is it sampled by dancing queen by ABBA ???
Not really but it probably has some ABBA inspiration, especially because ABBA is also from Sweden. I can hear the ABBA-ish reference in the chorus too but it doesn't look like a sample to me.
"Moonshine" ( the songwriting team ) are also Swedish, but no.
It's not a sample.
Can you react to oh my girl?
Small girl D.O пожалуйста
React Enhypen fatal trouble performance pls, love you 🇧🇷❤️
You should be sure that Red Velvet NEVER disappoints. Queens always and forever.
