this is called Karga it is a ritualistic dance performed in south Karnataka, mostly in bengaluru(India)! The guys with the sword are the body guards of the person in the middle!
It happens once a year in South karnataka where the person carrying the karga( flower pot on his head ) dances his way around the town or in parts of the city from the temple and legend says that he has to be pure from within when he carries the karga ( the flower pot on his head) as he goes around the city dancing in his way people offer him poja ( offering of flowers ) and workship him as they believe for that time frame the karga is in his head they belive God is in him and it's filled with colors and drum beats all day till the karga is descended down in a ritual manner post sunset
Bengaluru Karaga is one of the oldest festivals celebrated in the heart of Bengaluru (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು). Bengaluru Karaga is primarily a well-known tradition of 'Vahnikula Kshatriyas Thigala' community in southern Karnataka. The Karaga festival is generally led by the men of the community. There is a legend which gives them this privilege. Vahnikula Kshatriyas believe that in the last part of the Mahabharatha, when the Pandavas were shown a glimpse of hell, one last Asura (Demon) called Thimirasura was still alive At this time, Draupadi, the Pandava's wife, took the form of Shakthi devi. She created a huge army of soldiers called the Veerakumaras. After defeating the Asura, the soldiers asked Shakthi Devi to stay back with them. Though she had to go back, she promised them that she would come to stay with them every year during the first full moon of the first month of the Hindu calendar.[1] Thigalas believe that they belong to this community of soldiers.
