Thanks for showing the commander cards on the decks tech. Really useful because commanders take some turns to be casted and we didn't know the core piece of the deck.
I am 10 minutes into this game, and it’s one of my favorites of this group. It’s awesome watching you guys come together and into your own again after the recent changes.
Thanks for showing the commanders at the start and talking about the decks plan. Remember the good old days when you'd also show 5 or so cards in the deck that give the viewer a feel of whats coming?
Kind of surprised no one played Isshin. He's one of the coolest new commanders from the new set imo. Can do a lot of of value heavy and powerful things
Avatar of the Resolute has Reach because if you look at the art it's waist or stomach height to the tips of the spears and flags of the soldiers bellow. On any other plane that wouldn't be high enough to count as Reach, but I guess the dragons fly low on Tarkir.
On the topic of points, Stephen died before Corey this game, so did he get the 3 points for 2nd place? First strike damage did lethal commander damage to Stephen before regular combat damage killed Corey
I am consistently amazed that the players never kill the person in first as the first one! Like, do you not care about closing the gap to win the season?? xD
Obligatory "I miss Justin but Corey is fun to have on the show" comment. Also, I don't mind the play errors, dubious assessment, etc. It makes it more like a friendly game, esp the kind from my playgroups. Plus, without the mistakes and bad judgement, what would they joke about? Great as always
I subbed because yall are giving me content almost as fast as I can watch it keep up that crazy production rate I love what yall are doing P.S. don't stress too hard I just found your channel and have mutch to catch up on and I am on adult time so job and family come first.
I like Corey's style of gameplay. It's precise, aggressive with little tolerance for politics which is understandable coming from a competitive Modern format. From what I understand, you all (like most of us back in the day or even currently) played competitive Standard, Modern, Extended (I miss old school Extended blocks), Legacy (sorry Vintage kids).I think he would enjoy an all out cEDH game. How about another cEDH Commander episode? Get familiar w/ the deck, read primers and have a blast on the stack!
Am I the only one that noticed John saying SCG Con Pittsburgh will be team sealed? Going to the home of Eternal Weekend and hosting a sealed event seems like a missed opportunity.
Would have been cool if Corey saved Jeremy by activating voidwalker to cast his own infernal grasp; almost poetic A little bit hard of a line to see though, but he had the command tower up to pay for thalia, and the hyena umbra being destroyed would save 2 damage (from the all that glitters also) I guess it's debatable if it's worth sacrificing the voidwalker and losing 2 life, but he could still easily kill Jeremy with copter next turn
I think Jeremy didn't pay the tax on his enchantment he played, but then did pay the tax on the kill spell. Plus missed the etb trigger on boat for 3, then when attacks 3 so that was enough to kill Jon. Course the boat shouldn't have been in play. Lots of missed things.
It's because the director can never get the life totals straight. They should honestly just put them in in post, but they would require too much effort.
So he shouldn’t have actually lost the conviction as it was in response to the cast trigger and then conviction would resolved entered and could’ve attached the mesa enchantress. Auras don’t target on cast they target on entry.
Funny thing. All the moaning about losing magic content lately. And I’m just like ‘what do you expect?’ I love Commander Vs, but seriously 5 people in the room missed that Corey put a legendary into the graveyard with unmarked grave. Then missed it over and over as he talked nonstop about getting the boat for a full turn cycle. Then they all missed SkySovereign etb trigger when he brought it back and attack trigger. Yeah things get missed, but dang…5 people watching this one card be the focus of the game for over a turn cycle, and they couldn’t get the right play once?…jeezzz. That is the essence of Magic content. People whose job it is to play and deal with the cards, but no one can read them.
The games are always fun, but I'm starting to get annoyed for the 'save a player' point. I feel like it encourages a play that usually just has someone stepping into waste someone's big go turn.
Man I miss Justin Parnell and the dynamic and more competitiveness he added. I unfortunately don’t feel as if corey fits so well with the group and would honestly like to see maybe Ross merriam in the group. I feel like having the silent skillful brooding personality of Ross would make up for Parnell being gone as both sorta had that same playstyle.
Might be casual commander, but when a pro player screws up, gets called on it, and still makes the same mistake, and also doesn't take out the most threatening player game after game, it's pretty hard to want to watch the next episode.
So voicing my opinion makes me a grumpy grouch who has no fun? Get out of here. I get people make mistakes (hell, I do too, we aren't perfect), but to do something so simple as do the exact opposite of what the card says (twice in the span of 10 seconds)... then damn, I guess I can't watch this show according to you. The fact that legendary cards now have the special border at the top should make it incredibly easy to recognise you pulled the wrong card. But whatever.
So I stopped watching after Justin left because I couldn't stand Corey. I came back to see if he's improved, but wow what a terrible episode. Misplays all over, he's even more annoying to me now, they have made little changes like no more showing CMD damage or explaining their decks. It's a shame I really loved this show at one point, but it's just not worth my time anymore. Miss you Justin!
You guys so worried about what your viewers will think that u wont kill the guy in the points lead numerous times throughout the game. pls stop being so soft lol.do what u need to do to win the season
No. The fact he is considered a pro player and making such obvious mistakes game after game is so weird to me. I can understand that magic is a complicated game but come on, that unmarked grave play after being told he couldn’t get a legendary was borderline cheating. I understand this is just for fun but this being the new guy look he’s going for when we know him as a professional star city games player is just making him seem much more of an amateur player than anything else especially compared to the rest of the table.
@@DaniMol honestly the point system is something he should have way more understanding towards as he is a pro player. I would’ve expected him to come in and try to farm and collect points and do things just for points rather than how he plays now. But what really bugs me are the simple ruling mistakes he’s making that are somehow much more frequent compared to the other guys. Like imagine if he did that unmarked grave mistake in a pro game, that could’ve gotten him some serious penalties there.

There's a card missing in Jonathan's deck :-/
The awkward part of him getting a legendary card after being corrected on that exact play 5 secs before.
that was my thoughts lmao
Yup, rough times all around xD
5 people in the room and no one notices that he again grabbed a legendary…wow

Corey is a little confused sometimes, but he got the spirit!
Good to see you fellas. Corey coming in looking fresh, I dig it. Happy Wednesday.
With vorinclex and harden scales both being replacements effects. Cant Steven order it to get 4 +1/+1 counters instead of 3

Thank you for bringing back the intros and for placing the cards on the screen during the intros!
Can we please fix the mic that keeps exploding? Two episodes in a row. 💥😭 Otherwise another great episode!
Cloud key is that being used in Kingdom Hearts was really funny
I'm so glad to see Greasefang being played, I've been thinking about making a Commander Deck around her lately
I am 10 minutes into this game, and it’s one of my favorites of this group. It’s awesome watching you guys come together and into your own again after the recent changes.
Did Corey get a legendary sky sovereign with the unmarked grave?
You must be new. The rules don’t matter in recorded commander games.
Loving this kamigawa set.
Actually seeing the commanders during the intro?! COMMANDER VS IS BACK BABY
Thanks for showing the commanders at the start and talking about the decks plan.

I think they probably didn't because of all the hype, Jeremy is normally the cookie-cutter-popular stuff player, but he aint no mardu man
FYI Skysovereign has an ETB
Jeremy!! Pay attention!!
I enjoy that Tatsunari had toad-em armor...
The commander introductions are great again. Greasefang played much better than I thought it would be as well.

Jeremy's life total staying at 36 for minutes after he got hit to 26 is driving me crazy
Also, the screen didn't mark John taking the first hit from Smuggler's copter for like 10 minutes as well...
