Hehe I love u, ur my idol!!
Absolutely riveting.
So that's why Simba's mane is a greatly different shade than Mufasa's.
I love animation since I was a kid.
I started to love drawing way before that.
You made me fall in love with digital painting years ago.
You even make me wanna buy a Cintiq from Wacom now, which I'm gonna do later this month.
Now I'm in Emile Cohl art school, in France, and I dream to become as skilled as you are.
I want to say : Thank you, for helping that dream to fulfill.
A L hey I’m thinking about going into art, how has pursuing your dream going?
I’m literally in tears. I have been stunted in my artistic abilities that I thought I lost them years ago after taking on a corporate work life. Being out of one since Dec and using this video as guidance, I can’t believe how good I am. Thank you, Aaron!
You are an absolute godsend. So incredibly talented and generous with respect to sharing your talent with the world. Thanks! On another note, with respect to watching videos of cats....If watching videos of cats on UA-cam, you can go into settings and change the speed to .50 or .25. This give you a nice slow motion perspective.
He's the nicest person on earth
I absolutely love watching you draw while you explain. I'm learning so much!
"lions, tigers," bears? "leopards," damn it, "cheetahs, and courgers..."
TheRexRider Lol I did the same thing lol
Lions and tigers and... leopards??
This isn’t the Wizard Of Oz I once knew
Where are the Jaguars
I love this video :) and truly appreciate the time you've taken to impart your knowledge onto us.
Seriously though, I learned a lot from this short part with promise of so much more to come and I'm very much looking forward to throwing my money at you. I'm really just wondering, is there a particular reason why you won't cover snow leopards? I think their anatomical structure, especially in the face, is so very different from African leopards and yet they get lumped in with them too often or just forgotten entirely. I may be biased since they're my favorite subject to draw but still, show snow leopards some love! :)
Thank you. As far as snow leopards go I simply haven't drawn them enough to do a tutorial on them. I'll work on it.
+The Art of Aaron Blaise how bout them snow leopards now?
The Art of Aaron Blaise And now?
And now?
And now?
just bought the brush pack for $5.00 and my sketches just jumped to a whole new level! everyone's gotta try the pastel brush
I love the Aaron's scientific/anatomic but everyday and simple at the same time language, it make for much, really more easy to understand the anatomy...
I don't can before learn it because I not tryed to see it at that angle.. Thanks you so very very much Aaron!
We love youuuu
(even a young child could learn to do great things with anatomy by watching these videos
He it's funny
every dollar I spend on your tutorials and brush sets is all worth it, as the knowledge you continue to share at such low costs is simply priceless to the art community.
thank you for all that you give us Aaron, you're an amazing human being.
its so incredible how you have so much experience on drawing animals and
how you're so used to drawing them that you do a sketch of one in what
it feels like seconds! its amazing seeing someone have that skill and i
love it!
Thanks for this tutorial ^^ !
I love your drawing and now I’m going to drawing many lions with this tutorials because it’s one of my favorite animals !
Watched the whole video. Really like your style, subbed.
I love the tip with watching videos! Definitely will use that way of referencing more :)
Your design is beautiful, and bravo for technical!!!!
Thank you, great series of tutorials. Hope to buy full membership in the future.
Ngl I did loose my place a bit but was able to find it again, and it came out great for my first time drawing a lion. Thanks for the help!
Incredibly beautiful. . I am lost for the words that your art makes me feel. You are truly blessed
You sir, are amazing.
Wow11 So much to learn, but you definitely illustrated the need to know the structure to understand the details that make the drawing look real. Thank you. Can't wait to see the rest of your series.
Aaron. I have always wanted to draw realistic lions! I never knew making out the skin of the lion while referencing the skull was helpful. This was amazing. Thank you so much!
THIS IS AMAZING!!!
Mr. Blaise, I would like to say personally how thankful I am for these videos. I purchased the whole series of your lessons on drawing Big Cats, and I must say that these are incredibly helpful. I've looked a good while for an excuse to branch away from the dinosaurs and dragons I usually draw, and after learning about your channel and website... I cannot begin to express the joy I get from learning about drawing these creatures, as well as your tutorials regarding techniques on light and shadow and more (some subjects like light and shadow are quite difficult for me, and i've only recently begun using them to a greater degree). So, again, thank you so very much for creating these videos.
This is going to be so helpful! Thankyou so much!
this was satisfying to watch
genius! .. Seeing you working made me want to start drawing lions too!
Thank you very much Mr. Blaise for taking the time to create these for all of us. I've learned a lot from you and greatly appreciate all that you've done for us younger artists. Your tutorials and brushes have been very helpful in improving my own work and watching you paint has been a great inspiration of me. Keep up the great work!
This was brilliant, I am learning a lot! You're awesome! :)
Excellent!!! Thank you for sharing; this really gave me an idea of how the rest of the course is going to go! Releasing the first of the video series is one way to get me to buy the whole thing.......*runs to Aaron's website to make the purchase
You are the greatest artist of our time
Great teaching aid - the computer and you - I love this lesson - as I am currently into painting the big cats now and of course every good painting starts with a great drawing underneath as in sculpture, etc. where you are drawing with the clay. Great video! Guzentiedt.
Can't wait!
...
Congrats on reaching the bottom of this! You must have a lot of patience!
that's such a fantastic and comprehensive lesson. Thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)
So informative yet simple enough to not get lost! I thank you :)
Hi Aaron, excellent stuff, thanks for your videos. Would love if you could explain the measures and proportions of the various parts while you're placing them. Thanks for your work :)
So much anatomy at once! Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!!!
Watching this video showed how little i actually know about drawing lions lol. But it helped a lot! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Keep it up!
amazing! Thanks for posting this video
AWESOME! I can't stop watching this video! AWESOME! I've been looking for some sources about lions and how to draw them, and there you go! What I like the most is the explanations on how different are lions, what to pay attention to when studying them. There are books on different aspects about lions - anatomy reference books, sketching/cartooning, etc. But this video for me personally puts them all together.
Transitioning from traditional to animal drawings really is tricky but it helps that i got abit of experience.
Most simple way to draw anything : Draw them a few thousand times until you completely memorize a 3D model within your head
Man, what a fantastic video. I have now a much better understanding of the structure of a lion's head. Funny really, how everyone can immediately picture a lion, but when you want to draw it, you can't analyse for yourself what makes a lion a 'lion'. I for one always had trouble with getting the eyes right, as wel as the dark part of the lower lip and the mane. Knowing how the muzzle is structured really helps me out here. This set of video's is a definite must-buy for me, and I can't wait until the video's on tigers and cheetas are aveilable (my favourite big cats). Thank you so much, Aaron for sharing such gold with us!
Beautiful art! unbelievable
You earned a sub! I have never been able to find these kinds of videos! Thx!
I learned so much, love to draw animals and that's helped a lot to understand anatomy... I was wondering if you are gonna do something similar for Bears :D
Ahhh! This is fantastic!! Thank you so much! It’s a long video and I was enjoying it the entire time. I learned a lot and can’t wait to see what by paper has to offer in a few months, won’t be as good as yours but I hope to make the video proud!!
OMG. THIS CHANNEL. JACKPOT!!! 😍😍😍😴
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 🦁
Awesome class! Thank you! :)))
You are a terrific teacher. I just love your work. I really learn a lot from you and my art work is improving. I am so looking forward to your new courses on drawing animals, I too love to draw animals, especially horses and cats.(big and small) and nature. Just watching this little preview on drawing lions helped me greatly. It helped me figure out what I was missing. Thank you soooo much for sharing you expertise.
Amazing
I have spent all day atudying and drawing your How To Draw Elephants pdf, so stoked about this one! Definitely going to do that with this video as well and buying it when the entire series comes out! Also absolutely can't wait for the character design one! Thanks for all your hard work Aaron
Do the complete tutorials have anything on how to take this knowledge and use to create more ''cartoonish'' characters? Also, do you talk anything about animation and how each animal moves and acts? I'm thinking on buying them when they come out, but would like to know this before.
Sorry for my bad english, and thanks once again for incredible contribution to the art education. I learn a lot from these videos! :)
Diogo simoes I do cover locomotion. As far as character design goes, my next set of videos will be a course on character design. Animal character design will be included in that set.
+The Art of Aaron Blaise draw a wolf!!!
I have to be honest...this was the longest video I have ever watched on UA-cam and I watched all of it. This was so AMAZING thank you so much for this ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
I kept groping my cat's facing during this to try and compare to the lion's face, I don't think he minded
This is a blessed comment
wow just looked at About Aaron Blaise section of this video, Brother Bear is my all time favourite disney movie, and so excited to see more videos from this channel! After watching the first 10 minutes of this video I've learned so much! Definitely subscribing!
Really interesting your emphasis on video for still paintings or drawings. I know Disney, in the beginnings, stressed video in their works. They filmed dogs, cats, deer, everything ,in order to better understand the forms, movements and so ons of the animals.
I think Don Bluth put emphasis on that too, when he was starting out, as many studios, including Disney, didn't continue to do that during the 70's or so (They were looking at, or recycling, animation they had done on previous films). Some element of basis in reality is needed in art or animation, no matter the exaggeration.
I really enjoy watching your tutorials. It's almost like watching magic unfold, which I'm sure sounds rather corny, but it's true nonetheless. I have to say, I'm very seriously debating buying some of this. I would really like to see you work on canines though.
awesome stuff
Aaron , you are a great artist , I lean so much from your generous demos , and I wonder, if these are just free demos on UA-cam, How would be the Paid ones ...
:D awesome! I feel like this is going to be a great series!
TALENT
Wowthis tutorial is really amazing i just started drawing lions and was all over the place but this tutorial made it all clear great work 👏 👍
This is so helpful thank you!’
I have a question, Sir. Will you ever do how to draw and shade wolves? I can hardly ever find those. Also Sir, do know anyone that does those kinds of videos? Thank you so much!
You are an Amazing artist ( which I'm sure you know ) GOD has truly blessed you!
I have an entire course on how to draw wolves here: creatureartteacher.com/product/how-to-draw-wolves-coyotes-foxes/
There is a nearly 2 hour sneak peek of it here: ua-cam.com/video/lGRVM-ZSSts/v-deo.html
How do you do large German shepherd dogs? And scars? That's exactly what Birch is from my story The Dog City. He's a pretty large German shepherd.
wooow 😍😍😍😍
Thank you, +The Art of Aaron Blaise!!! If you knew how much this will help me. I draw dragons but I take a lot of cat anatomy and especially my character Athello has wolf based head, but a leopard like body and I have so hard to draw him in perspective and poses!
A big thank you! :'D
That's amazing thank you sooo much. I'm a big fan of your art!
Thank you very much Aaron, this is really informative and helpfull. I'll spread the word about your videos and how awesome you are ;3
Awesome tutorial!
excellent video
You have inspired me to paint more frequently on Photoshop and now my skill level has sky rocketed thanks to me observing how you paint and trying to recreate your brushes with my own style.
I just want to ask, how did you learn to draw and paint animals and creatures? Did you just start off by drawing things free hand with only a photo reference? Did you have to learn all about a specific animal and observe it in depth? Or did you start off learning by tracing them which then developed into memory?
Thing is that I need to roughly trace the animals shape and positioning of certain parts of their body in order to start off with the painting. From there on I start free hand painting with only the trace to guide me and the photo beside me to get an idea of what colours to use and how light is hitting the object or animal.
Is that a good way of learning and developing my drawings and paintings? Or will that only lead me to never being able to draw things free hand?
That is... Not one question, but I hope you can tell me a bit about the learning process of getting shapes and stuff like that in place so that I begin drawing and painting free hand. And thank you for your videos, really inspirational!
very nicely done. Which tablet do you use? looks like you have a lot of precision.
Wonderful and fantastic video :)
I learned so much! If you make more of these videos I would watch them all! :D
This is an excerpt form my full class on "Drawing Big Cats" which is available here: creatureartteacher.com/product-category/tutorials-lessons/how-to-draw-downloads/?orderby=popularity
The Art of Aaron Blaise-thanks I’ll check it out
Wow thank you very much for this vid! It helped me a lot! :3
Thats so awesome!
Hi Aaron!
Excellent tutorial vid! Very interesting facts about lions' structure and tips are completely functional. I'll widely consider use videos for reference next time (I think it's when there's no chance to do it live, which is preferred, right?).
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!
Have a good one!
I am going to get a Wacom intuos pro soon and with all these tips on drawing digital is really going to help me
Keep up the good work!
That's great! But keep in mind that with this series it doesn't matter if you're working digitally or not. I'm only working digitally here for the ease of recording and speed.
Great art .
How in hell did this video get me from drawing a low-level realistic lion to a hyper-realistic lion in a day
Hi, I wanted to tell you that I love your work, have you thought about drawing jaguars? I'm in love with these cats, but I can never draw. Can you help me? Hi from Brazil!
And also who better to learn from than somebody who has works for Disney and who has been in the business 20 years and whose artwork speaks for itself
Thanks your videos
I used this vid to draw a smilodon since both animals are very similar.
I really like your art. Do you think you could make a tutorial on how to draw wolves?
wow wow that was great ,I have just started drawing cats big one that is at seven so I found your video so good.thanks a lot.
can you tell me where I can see images of cats in attack mode? as they...pounce, as this is how I want to depict them in dynamic poses, this could either be still images or slow motion filming
Any tips on big cats' shoulder anatomy and leg proportions?
Awsome content.
This was sooo helpful!!! Thank you so much for this clip of your lessons!!!! I hope to be able to buy this course in the near future!!!!!! XDDD
love from indonesia
Aaron, I've been watching your content for a while now and recently bought a bunch of your courses; however, I'd like to ask how you learn this all on your own? How did you manage to perfect drawing these animals?
What do you use?
