where do you get those cute little flat rocks to decorate the tree? I think they are so cute and add a lot to the tree

I live on the east coast so every month I go to the beach and bag up all the rocks I think will make good foundations. You can find them on any lake or trail.

I have a question. I want to put a little bonsai tree inside of an animal shaped stone planter. What do I put in the hole of the planter to make sure the tree is embedded? I saw a pic of an elephant planter with a bonsai tree on your site. How did you form the base so that the tree would stay put?

Hi Margaret! What I do is I’ll purchase a bag of natural stone pebbles at the craft or dollar store, and put my Gorilla Cleargrip Glue inside the base first, then put the pebbles (or sand) on top to dry. Afterwards, you just place the roots on the base and rubberband the roots in place. Then place your glue on the roots until dry. This process can be seen at the end of most of my tutorials. Let me know how your tree comes out! 🤗

If I wanted my tree to be bigger. Would I just add more strands of wire and cut them longer.

Hi Linda, great question; and the answer is yes, for larger trees you’ll need to add double the wire then cut them between 25 to 30 inches long. It will be fun to make🤗! Is it your first tree?

Yes it’s my first tree. I have been watching all of your bonsai tree videos. They are beautiful. I hope I can make mine as beautiful as yours.

@lindawillis1094 It took years of practice, and when I wasn’t happy with it I would walk away from it for a day or two and just redesign it. So to answer your question, of course it will be beautiful and amazing! Because you made it! I’m already proud of you for trying and if you need any help at all, you just send me a comment or email me and I’ll be happy to help you.
