Look, if you have NEVER been on a year DEPLOYMENT, ALL ALONE, then DON'T COMMENT...... Because you have NO CLUE how tough those moments away from your family and loved ones TRULY are. Missing Christmas, Birthdays, Special Events, etc, and then you think we're OVERPAID or get to retire too EARLY??? Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME??? Just the mental stress we endure most civilians would collapse just thinking about. So respect these families and shed a tear for the ones still overseas, ALONE!!! Try NOT hugging your loved ones for one year, and you STILL will NOT understand because you're NOT 15,0000 miles away from them.... God bless all of you that have endured this, and that are enduring it. May you return safe and in one piece. Semper Fi, Captain T, Ret. U.S.M.C.
Amen, Capt. During OIF-1 I missed being around for my mom's twin brother and mother passing away, three friends' funerals, two family weddings, my best friend getting married, the birth of my niece, and my closest cousin graduating from college. We left shortly before Valentine's Day and got home in late January. It was the worst year of my life and I only had my brothers beside me to help me keep myself going. It's bad enough just missing holidays and the opportunities visit family and friends on long weekends or leave, but being absent for all those events, good and bad on top of it, while having to compartmentalize your emotions to keep yourself focused on getting through the next time outside the wire... not too mention trying to process those who fell beside you on mission... it's hell. I don't care what branch or MOS someone has, being deployed thousands of miles from home and everything familiar to you is just tough. Lead the Way, SGT H, 82nd Airborne.

@@aaronjones3284 Thanks fam. I just saw your comment in my notifications and watched this again. Small world, lol. Nik is up for SPO this year, and is on track to retire in 2025 with 22 years in. I got out after 9 years in back in 2010 but Nik has stayed in and been crushing it. He missed both of his younger siblings graduating high school and college. His missed his mom and stepdad's wedding. I talk to him as often as his schedule allows. He has been my best friend for close to 30 years now. I just picked up a bottle of Glenlivet 21 that was casked the year I went in and Aberlour 30 that was put into casks the year we met, and the day he retires we're having a BBQ with his motley crew of AEs, then we're off with our families and friends for a fish fry and campout at his dad's property in the Allegheny mountains, cracking these very nice, very expensive bottles of scotch, smoking a few nice cigars, and celebrating the fact that somehow we both made it through alive to start our journey as business partners living the best we can for all those who are no longer here to do it with us.

Wow, she really loves her brother! My sister wouldn't hit play on the stereo for me, let alone choreograph an entire dance routine! Sweet video.
