By the looks of the water behind the boat you never had the outdrive trimmed up at all, you will get more speed and less drag on the hull if you do trim up a bit
I'd love to do this with my boat. Or another boat. Starting to think about some type of cruiser. Be cool to have 2 motors on a pontoon boat. Btw, I have a CJ5 as well. AMC360 powered. Electric might be the future if the motor ever goes. Both the boat and Jeep are good candidates for me, as I'll likely only be out for a few hours. I also like the ideas in other comments about a dock (or a shelter for the Jeep) with solar panels for recharging. Keep up the inspiration!
WOW! Haven't seen any speed boat hit the plane so fast in such a brief interval of time! I'm researching on converting my cabin cruiser to electric. Would appreciate some technical notes / specs of motors you've tested with and how long the battery would potentially run. Thanks a million guys! True geniuses you guys are! Cheers!
I realize this video was done years ago and this is a prototype but monitoring systems must be idiot proof and interactive and fully integrated because your average boater hates maintenance and runs a boat until it fails so new product must be very durable and idiot proof and keep product in the lab until perfected because any flaw will expose itself in the field and once a brand has a bad name for anything sales are doomed.
Nice video. EV technology is great! I've enjoyed having a high power 75hp stealth electric outboard on my 17' bow rider runabout. Excellent choice for the type of lake boating we enjoy. We can go over 20 miles on one charge. The top speed is 27 MPH and the last time out, we pulled the raft just for fun. Go Electric! See video at: mark's gas to electric boat conversion.
What a cool set-up! Great way to re purpose an older ICE powered boat. Better power and a more eco-friendly solution. A dock with solar panels to charge it would be sweet! What batteries are you using? How do you charge them? Thank you, keep up the good work!
This is amazing stuff, I’ve thought about doing the same thing in the future but for a bigger boat. By the way look into SMART TABS. These are small surfaces that auto adjust with pressure from the water to make the boat plane out much faster therefore requiring less speed and energy for cruising while planing.
Bros congratrtions for a good work, really am so empress by u job, yeah, and let me ask you about the power, how many Dc power are u using to drive ur control??
I have a 10' livingston with a bi-hull design simular to a tunnel hull that I would like to put twin e-jet drives in. Sadly I have no experience in the technology and application. My goal is a small river runner capable of around 30 to 40 mph. Got any Ideas ?
You'd need a large electric motor and a controller. Probably gonna cost upwards of 20 grand. The cells are not too bad nowadays. 100Ah cells can be had for $60 each shipped. Due to the high power needed I would look for cells capable of 3C continuous discharge and making sure they are NEW and Grade A which is very hard to get. Everyone lies saying they have Grade A. You need a very very low internal resistance. If you can find 280Ah cells that do more than 1C that might be better. So I just found 3C 100Ah cells and 5C 56Ah prismatic cells. Thats continuous discharge. You can get pouch cells that are 10C or higher up to 20C. Stick with LiFeP04 or LTO....LTO is very expensive but has crazy C rates. 40C discharge/10C charge but not very energy dense and 3X as expensive. So I think your best bet is prismatic 3C or 5C cells. Pouch cells can be hard to work with because they NEED compression so it would be a lot of custom cases for them but there are some amazing cells. I know A123 has some very high discharge LiFeP04 pouch cells. Their cylindrical cells are likely too heavy, I have some of the M1B and the 2.5Ah capacity won't be enough, they weigh 76 grams a piece. So 760 grams per 25Ah but you have a discharge of 500A continuous and 1200A peak. These guys had quite a few 100Ah cells. I think they said 70? That would line up with 240V. 3.2*70=224V and 3.6*70=252V. so you'd need 70 cells in series and 40 in parallel to match their range (no clue what they could get). You could do way less in the P groups, maybe 20 and still have enough power (1000A continuous 2400A peak) So find a controller in the 240V range that'll take 100A....that's a 24kw motor. They had 90A at 240V so more like 23.1kw unless their cells were 2C I'd have to check the old winstons.
Eigenlijk jammer dat je met de views bleef hangen. Met een paar tieten in de boot bij de vaartest en in de thumbnails zou je het je geen windeieren hebben gelegd.

So when can the public expect to see this on set up on the market?
What the cost for an average Joe spend

Okay. Have you checked with the hull manufacturer on how much force is safe?

👍👍👍 great full of power boat good step for electric power could work on large boats with reserves power electric charging
10 years ago. Holy shit
that thing ripps!

Evnetics dicontinued that controller. Are you still using it?
Nice, guy how long to drain battery on the travel of how many miles away so far?..

Damn this dude needs to be apart of the Tesla Navy 😂😂

fantastic bravo from france whatr is the motor brushless ? and where do you find it ? thanks
Wow, too dang cool!!!
Top speed?
Great going, hope you get all in order to be a commercial hit. Shelter that wind buffed microphone, lots of static.
So, numbers?
So much water outside, why you use air cooling for soliton? Or there is whater one, hard to see on video.. Anyway NICE job!

Where can I get a full set up for a 25 foot mastercraft and how much please?
That thing gets out of the hole real quick.... Haha, I like it. How much did you pay for the 90Ah prismatic cells?
Wat kost dit totaal laten maken ? echt cool jongens respect 👍👏👏👏👏✌️
Looks like a liquid / air cooled SRM BLAC PM motor 👍
U need a wind sock. IO is a very inefficient system try a surface drive no gears straight shaft
I need a setup for my miniature speed boat that I’ll be advertiseing my bait & tackle business at the lake an river year 2021
It’s batten down the hatches 🤦🏻♂️not button
realy nice!!!!
NICE!
How watt power of motor electric?
Appreciate bat tel xell 44 miles
Aplenty teksa BMW baters 56 mile range
he is a shipster not a hijabster.
kin wind noise man

Volvo penta drive sucks
No
The old 270 outdrives would take a beating. Very durable.
your boat is nice your microphone sucks
