Good morning, Just wanted to say thank you for the information you provide, I'm in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States, so not everything fits, but most ideas and techniques translate just have to find the similar species of fish in the area, mullaway= red drum, tailor are bluefish. Anyway thanks again.
Well I know what I’m cooking this weekend I actually like mullet people seem to turn it down but I reckon it’s great the same as macrel I really enjoy stronger flavoured fish
Nice buddy I could finishing last few days and I cache flathead , big octopus nice Bream and Flander too nice fishing for ever Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us to having great time.
Hi Roger. I am learning how to fish under your guide and benefit a lot. Thanks a lot.can you tell me how to use the tide time for fishing, someone told me the best tide time is 2 hours before and after the high tide,is that right
Good evening Roger. Just a question, we have a river close by and from time to time the fish die from the low oxygen levels in the water. Would the mullet be ok to use for bait if gotten early enough?
Why that phenomenon at the beach is happening? I know there's a place in the world that one day in the year is raining fish, weird isn't it? By the way nice what you are cooking Cheers
Mullet gets a bad wrap like Tailor but both are excellent eating if cooked the right way. Honestly wouldnt be surprised if in the old days most fish in fish and chip shops were not mullet or shark
LOL, Why didn't I think of this before - Roger, after many years of worming, [ this is a serious question, but I'm laughing as I type it ] what is the longest lasting stocking, lol. What make/model of women clothing do you recommend, LOL!!!! Please, it is very honestly a serious question, but I still can't get the stupid expression of my face as I ask it.
Mullet, especially one's court in rivers & creeks are notoriously tainted with a muddy flavor! If you catch them offshore in the sea, they don't have this taste as much! Generally, for mullet you fillet/skin them & also scrape off the membrane between the skin & the flesh & that will mostly remove the revolting muddy taste of a river/creek/estuary court fish! Adding an abundance of flavorings is also recommended!
is that a legal form of fishing or should you have just let them be something to ponder dont know that i would eat them dont you need to bleed mullet asap if you wanna eat em but they did look yummy
As far as I know, growing up on Lake Maquarie, when there was pro fishermen still allowed to net there, we never bled mullet, just had to make sure to clean the stomach lining off.

Mullet tastes like mud, literal bait fish for better eating fish.
Great Show Roger, cheers

Great video Roger!
A little known fact about mullet.....it’s an incredibly good raw fish. Good for sashimi and amazing in ceviche.
Thanks for the info!
Good evening Roger. Just a question, we have a river close by and from time to time the fish die from the low oxygen levels in the water. Would the mullet be ok to use for bait if gotten early enough?
I reckon man
Yes Russell, I think they would be ok for bait
Hey Roger. Wasn't too sure if it was you I had seen today at cabarita Beach. 🙂👍
Hi Copa, it wasn't me 😃
Great video what knife do you use to fillet the fish? What do you use to scale fish?
I just use a normal chef's knife for both jobs
@@RogerOsborneFishing thanks
Roger, what is your spinning reel of choice if it's not sponsored and is coming out of your own pocket. Is it still the Shimano Speedmaster 14000???
for tossing large hardbodies it is still the Shimano Speedmaster 14000
Damn, what a windfall!
Why that phenomenon at the beach is happening? I know there's a place in the world that one day in the year is raining fish, weird isn't it? By the way nice what you are cooking

Thanks Tony
As long as it's not blind mullet I'll give it a go
Just wondering with all the rain the worms in my garden have come to the surface can I use them for bait for whiting
I have never tried that but you could give it a go
What a catch! Raining mullet 😂 Delicious recipes. I’d like to try smoking a whole mullet.
Thanks Ugly Drum, the Mullet fillets worked great but whole Mullet I think would go well
Mullet gets a bad wrap like Tailor but both are excellent eating if cooked the right way. Honestly wouldnt be surprised if in the old days most fish in fish and chip shops were not mullet or shark
Yes Ross, I was surprised how good it was
So long as you bleed Tailor and Salmon straight away, they are great. Mullet, just make sure to clean out the black stomach lining.
With all this rain I was wondering can you use worms out of the garden
no halm in trying find somewhere a creek or drain is spilling might be bream
I am sure that you would catch some fish with them

Hi Just me, I just buy the home brand stockings or whatever is cheapest. They are an inexpensive item so I don't bother about the cost
@@RogerOsborneFishing How long do they last?

Hi
is that a legal form of fishing or should you have just let them be something to ponder
dont know that i would eat them dont you need to bleed mullet asap if you wanna eat em but they did look yummy
Hi JB, I only kept them to eat because they were still alive and obviously fresh, otherwise I would just use them for bait
As far as I know, growing up on Lake Maquarie, when there was pro fishermen still allowed to net there, we never bled mullet, just had to make sure to clean the stomach lining off.
Wanna hope those fish are not diseased?
no wouldnt matter he is cooking them only a chemical would be the worry.
Well, they were fit enough to walk up the beach by themselves.....
Hi Mick, I only grabbed them because they were still alive. There were dozens of them over quite a large area and they were all flipping and breathing
