    This will probably be my next PC in a few years as my z620 with 4 512 SSDs, 64GB RAM, 2x Asus 1070 Turbos, and 2x E5-2680v2s is still killing it and will be for probably a couple more years. I am pretty sure a few of the parts came from your ebay store. ;) The biggest reason that I have stuck with Windows 7 is because I do high-res texture painting/previewing and GPU rendering with Substance Painter, Maya, and Redshift with Windows 10 eating a big chunk of my VRAM that Windows 7 does not. Up to a GIG with nothing open and my second card being headless!

    Awesome review as always!
    PS: I bought 2 used E5 Xeons 2 years ago from your eBay store and still rocking like the first day!

    Can you recommend a HP workstation for 4k 60fps (h.264) video editing?
    should be able to handle multiple (3-4 tracks) simultaneously.
    Thanks

    Hello, I do graphic design on a PC. I am a one-person show and do this professionally, so I need a very dependable machine. Currently using an Asus desktop with Intel Core i7-4770 CPU 16 GB RAM, 64 bit, GE Force FT625 running Windows 7 Pro. I need to invest in a new PC for graphic and web design. I regularly use Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Dreamweaver) along with Quark Xpress. There are times when a project with intricate graphics is open in Photoshop and becomes too much for the PC to handle with many other programs open, so I get the virtual memory message on occasion. Anyway, I would like to stay with a desktop PC and was told that a workstation with powerful graphics would be what I need moving forward. My question is would this HP Z6 G4 be overkill for what I do? (I don't do animation or 3D graphics or video editing and don't intend to in the future.) I definitely want 16 GB of RAM. I hear that the Xeon processor is much better than the i7. I am looking for advice on what would work best for my particular applications and usage and help me to stay within a reasonable budget. Your advice?

      @Itcreations-LA  6 років тому

      HI Dina, Aside from writing one of the most articulate questions we've ever received, you are correct. Based on the programs you use the Z6 G4 would be overkill. That said, the Xeon processors are enterprise-grade, meaning they are designed for 24/7 operation, same with all the other hardware in a workstation. The Core i processors are not. Older generation workstations are also something you should look at. You can also load a bunch of different graphics processing units (GPUs) for workload acceleration. By the way, whatever you choose, an SSD for your boot drive either a standard 2.5' or 3.5" drive or an M.2 drive (better) will make your system run quite fast and is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to supercharge your system. More memory will definitly help and it sounds like you need at least 32GB but you will really notice the difference with an SSD. For the work you do, a single processor system would be fine but you could probably also get a dual processor system for almost the same price. By the way, you don't need both processors installed on a dual processor system and could go with a single processor initially and upgrade later to dual processors if need be. Ok, recommendations: HP Z440 (single-socket), Z640 or Z620 (dual processor older generation systems). Dell and Lenovo also have some very good workstations. Check out our selection of systems at IT Creations, here: goo.gl/03PVSq, that link will take you to our homepage, scroll down a bit to the Workstations section, and browse HP, Dell and Lenovo. You will find specifications and the documentation for the workstation at the bottom of each page. Feel free to post another question or contact our sales team at sales@itcreations.com. Remember to mention the video for a $250 discount on pricing if you purchase an HP system from us that's more than $1500. I hope I answered some of your questions, and thanks for watching!

    Let's put everything aside...how much is this and can I even afford it...It must be really expensive

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  4 роки тому

      Hi Frank,
      You are not wrong. This is an expensive unit but there are other options available and it really depends on what you will be using it for. It's not like you need to fully outfit the system to use it. Most people can easily get by on 16GB to 32GB of memory. There are a few links in the description, including one for pricing, and there are pages and pages of pre-configured systems if you click the "Shop Now" button. That said, keep in mind that you will need a GPU for video support as this system does not have built-in video capability. Thanks for watching!

    what i want to know is what type of CPUs can i use if i want to customize the Z6 G4? Core i9 or only Xeons, I believe that i can add a Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card, can anyone verify?

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there Artkidtek,
      The system is only compatible with Intel Xeon Scalable processors but you can add a second processor using the CPU mezzanine, which will also add more memory. I believe the Thunderbolt 3 card you are looking for is this part number: 3UU05AA. Here is a link to the specifications: cdn.picturetools.de/Files/ProduktFiles/c06113165.pdf . Here is a link to our page for the Z6 G4 and there are a few docs at the bottom of teh page you may find useful, the Thunderbolt 3 specs will be added today. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Hi guys actually I’m kind of confuse I’m looking to build my work statin hp z6 for 3D programs and rendering and I have like limit budget for that around 1700$ so I need something with budget I can upgrade it later to better features

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  6 років тому

      Hi Walid Walid,
      You will be hard-pressed to find a z6 g4 for your $1700 budget but it is possible, although, tax might throw it over the top of the $1700. Here's what I found: www.google.com/shopping/product/10852848666387545540?q=B%26H+Z6+G4&biw=1578&bih=877&prds=paur:ClkAsKraX5QOymY8c7ZQCf3RbXHGNuEntQgRjFYbhDMwBWc1n4Qvt9jhl-jQdz41YKOOjlFGFYATfq09LMITkhzU32KtHvmJRQL7Blzr487HToeZYMkZ1IWVthIZAFPVH72EXyNcUdwwSX0R0WLPYNQBvFzVkQ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjF2biPk_LbAhUS7Z8KHcQyDicQ8wIIhwQ
      Even with a barebones setup, you're still looking at a system with a single processor, 1TB storage, 8GB memory. The second processor and half them memory is also supported on a separate board that is not included with the barebones system and would have to be purchased separately or with a two-processor system setup, which would be the better price option as opposed to adding it later. You would still need to purchase a GPU for video support because the system does not have integrated graphics. Upgrading over time will also cost a bit more than purchasing with the components you want. We are currently updating the listings for the Z6 G4 so you can check back in a week if you want to see a bunch of pre-configured Z6 G4 systems, it currently just reads "Request a Quote", here: goo.gl/uGqEW2. Definitely go with an SSD for your boot drive for superfast boot and general software responsiveness. Another system you might look at is the previous generation HP Z640, which has gone down in price since the introduction of the Z6 G4. Here is our landing page for the Z640, and use the "Shop" button to see a listings for pages of pre-configured systems: goo.gl/OPxmtJ Of course, the same applies on the older system regarding video support, and the separate 2nd CPU and memory riser. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

      Hi Omar, Unfortunately, the system does not come with integrated video support and you will need to purchase a video card from either Nvidia or AMD. You can check out the list of supported GPUs, here on page 11, and more in-depth starting on page 48: HP Z6 G4 Workstation Specifications
      goo.gl/nnKdod . We have several GPUs in stock both new and refurbished and you can do a search here on our home page if you are interested in shopping: IT Creations site for servers, workstations, and components goo.gl/ay6bgA I believe we also have several listed on EBAY, here: stores.ebay.com/IT-Creations-inc . Hope that helps and thanks for watching!!

      Better than some worse than others. This is an enterprise-class workstation, not a gaming rig, so it will cost a bit more than something specifically for gaming. But can it game? Yes. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Hi Doug, My son and I have been looking at the HP Z4 G4 with the specs listed below. My son uses Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects (for video editing and motion graphics). He also uses Maya for 3-D graphics work. Associated with that, he does a lot of rendering. We watched your reviews on UA-cam for the G6 and G8 Workstations, but noticed you haven't done any reviews on the G4's. Before we make a purchase we wanted your opinion of this machine. The G6 and G8 are outside of our price range. We were very impressed with your thorough reviews and would love your opinion before we buy. If you think this machine is a good fit, do you sell it with these specs at IT Creations?

      HI Zach,
      Component support and general architecture are very similar with the Z8 and Z6 G4 workstations and are only separated by the Z8's support for just a little (and in some cases a lot more) more of everything. The build you are suggesting for the Z4 G4 is quite nice. My video editor is using the Z8 G4 with a gtx 1080, a single Gold scalable processor, and 32GB of memory but the real difference is having the 1TB M.2 as the boot drive-and it's very fast. The only thing you might add is maybe a little more memory but before you do that see how it runs, it could be more than adequate for your needs. Unfortunately, we do not carry the Z4 G4 but the build you are considering is definitely up to the task. If you need memory, CPUs, graphics cards, M.2 or anything like that, give us a call. I hope this information helps you with your purchase, and thanks for watching!

      Thank you so much Doug for getting back to us so soon and thank you for the review of the specs and the advice on possibly adding memory after we purchase and use the computer, we greatly appreciate it. We will definitely contact IT Creations for memory and other purchases!

      HI Zach, glad we could be of some help. HP has excellent products and I'm quite sure your son will be happy with the Z4 G4. The Z8 G4 is kind of overkill unless you are doing some really serious work or just want to show off. I mean who needs 3TB of memory or 46 TB of storage, not to mention the cost of all that hardware. It's more for doing the animation and editing of a Marvel comics movie or geo-exploration or SpaceX rocket ships. The Z6 I can see being very useful for super users too and is a nice option because you can purchase the system with just the single processor and then add the CPU expansion tray, which also supports more memory. The Z4 G4 is in the Goldilocks zone, just right for the majority of users. And since your spec includes the M.2 drives, you will be amazed at the performance. Thanks for watching!

      Hi Abdullah, It does have a central plastic baffle that goes over the processors and memory modules but is not as nicely laid out as the Z8 G4. That said, it's still looks very neatly organized in there.

      The New G5 Z-series workstations are scheduled to roll out mid-March. I think March 17 to be more specific for the Z8 G5 Fury. There is no Z6 G5 Fury, as of yet, just the Z8, and a regular Z8 G5 with dual 4th gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Gold and Silver) for up to 64 cores with 2x 32 core CPUs, also up to 1TB memory and support for 2x High-performance double-wide NVIDIA or 2x AMD GPUs. The Fury has a single Intel Xeon W CPU with up to 56 cores and can support 4x NVIDIA A6000 GPUs or 2x AMD Radeon Pro W6800 GPUs, plus up to 2TB of DDR5 memory. Yes. Looking for ward to seeing one of these. Thanks for watching!

    How loud are these at full load when used in dual CPU config with 165W TDP each?

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  Рік тому +2

      Hi there RappinAcoustic,
      I can see from your handle here on UA-cam why you might be interested in a response to your question. I will start out by saying acoustics are fairly subjective. Machines under load, those with spinning disks instead of SSDs, and those with GPUs are much louder in general. If you have a Liquid cooler attached, that can be used to mitigate sound transmission. All of that said, we have the Z8 G4 right across from my desk, which is in the same family/generation. It is very quiet. It does have a double-wide GPU and SSDs. Still, whisper quiet. Sorry I cannot provide a definitive answer. Thanks for watching!

    • @RappinAcoustic

      @@Itcreations-LA UPDATE: I bought a Z8 G4 and installed two Xeon 6146, an Nvme drive and a Quadro RTX 5000. I thought the video card would be the noise maker but it is totally silent. The CPUs on the other hand are whisper quiet for the most part, except under full load. Overall, although not 100% silent, it is pretty quiet and would recommend for studio use.

    Hi,
    why are you using Samsung SM951 MZVPV256HDGL NVMe disks instead of newer and much faster Samsung SM961 MZ-VPW256HEGL ?
    The latter are used in HP z240 for over a year now.

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  6 років тому +1

      Hi Marek, you Sir are a Geek of the highest magnitude and I commend you for your attention to detail! Yes, you are correct. The SM961 is faster, more reliable, and less expensive than the slightly older SM951 M.2 drives. Of course, we also didn't use 1TB drives even though we discussed maximum capacity on those M.2 slots. You can also install many other M.2 storage devices but, in the end, there was one specific factor that influenced our decision-we didn't have any of the SM961 sticks. For others that are interested in the comparison between these two options, here you go: ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-SM951-AHCI-PCIe-M2-256GB-vs-Samsung-PM961-NVMe-PCIe-M2-256GB/m24782vsm174249
