Sisters win rates at tournaments, with their low representation, shows the issue sisters have had since early 9th; a very select few players that can run the army well are hard carrying our win rates. The loss of bloody rose exemplifies that we had one single good order for 90% of 9th, with the only other order that was consistently good being Valorous Heart towards the end of the edition. @narrativecrusades707 my crusade list for 10th brings 2 cassies, one with each cannon, 2 squads of sacs with halberds and plasma, a palatine leading one and a canoness leading another, a battle sister squad with condemner, heavy, and storm bolters, a dominion squad with storm and condemners, and 2 squads of seraphim with plasma and flamers. Genestealer guy is running probably the closest thing to a competitive list, and my army's the only one that's beat him so far because I keep dropping seraphim on his tokens and my bolter spam is pretty effective at killing his infantry. @@narrativecrusades707 the feeling that u play a semi elite infantry based army with very thougth 3t 1w models. not a tanks +hord army that evrything die easy and have 7ld!!
5:04 to 5:11 I hate to be that guy, but a mathematical correction is obviously required here. A 5+ roll has a 1/3 or 33% chance of success. Pretty clearly, 5+ with a re-roll then would have to be higher than that. The odds of getting a 5+ with a re-roll are %100 minus the odds of not getting a 5+ on either dice. Or in this case: %100-(2/3)x (2/3). That gives us a 4/9 or 44.44% chance of not getting a 5+, so the odds of getting a 5+ with a re-roll are 55.55%. Significantly better than 1 in 3! Now with that said, giving Sisters twin-linked multi-melta profiles everywhere when they very clearly aren't twin-linked on the models would be silly. They simplest quick bump that GW could give would be to have the Blood of Martyrs ability grant +1 To Hit and +1 To Wound when under starting strength. Remove the half-strength stipulation entirely. 💁♂
Yeah nice easy change. Heresy they have twin-linked but are only 1 shot which is where I grabbed the idea from. Detachment rejig help a ton. I’m terrible at maths. Forgetting that layered / re rolls changes how you work it out entirely. I would’ve still got it wrong 😂 Thank you for correcting as it makes a difference!
no anti tank? Just drop a melta dominion squad out of an immolator. They have assault meltas so you're looking at 27 inches kill distance. Fire support makes it worse on your opponent too. Dialogus assures a 6" advance (32" kill range) Pal gives you lethals on 6. Doms murder tanks and monsters. I field 2 units ofem w both heros
I played 3 games this Edition and won 2-3 of them! I lost against Tau, those damn Ghostskeels destroyed me.. I'm happy with my Sisters, and my friends hate playing against them, the Miracles are still anoying (even without using 2 dice for Charge rolls) and I'm pretty happy with the results! Palatine is my MVP, she is so good with the Blade + Sacresaints!
Love the palatine defo my auto-include in every list going! Tau deserve a win now and again 😂 Tbh if your friends and gaming circle are happy that’s worth so much more!
I've had about a 75% win rate within my local meta. Just did a "friendly" tournament over the weekend and won 2/3 games losing to a very good Space Wolves player who was running the netlist of all the crazy fixings Marines/spacewolves can now bring to the table (other games where Admech and Nechrons). The first turn seems to be a big factor for me, I would say that in most games if I get the first turn I'm looking at a win. I do run a predominantly tank-heavy list with Armigers and play super aggressively. Morvenn, Junith, and Celestine are auto-includes for me at this point. I do run Celestine on her own which most people don't...I can't get myself to pay 70 points for the zeph...given their stats. Infantry, other than a single unit of battle sisters, is MSU spam consisting of penitent engines (I know they are vehicles but in my mind they are infantry) and Arcos. My tactics usually consist of running tanks into infantry blocks and concentrating all my fire on one important enemy vehicle or block of infantry, hoping to get those 5s and 6s with the aid of a dialogues with rets in immolators. When I win, it's usually a fun close game, when I lose, it's usually a complete blowout/tabeling. Thats been my experience so far in 10th.
Sounds like you’ve had some really decent games if your having hard fought wins, but the flip side of course is total blowouts suck! Hero hammer and tanks does seem to be the way we compete. What’s your strat with celestine solo? How do you play her / gameplan ?
So Celestine is purely a distraction character who draws attention and resources away from my main units. I've played numerous games now where opponents dedicate a significant amount of resources to deal with her. Running her solo with Gemini allows me to take advantage of the 4+ feel no pain offered by the Gemini. The Gemini do not constitute a bodyguard unit so you can elect to take damage on Celestine first (subsequent damage having to be taken on Celestine till she is destroyed). That makes her a bit tougher to kill. And when she does die and hopefully comes back you can then elect to have damage now distributed amongst the Gemini first as she was technically destroyed (this is how local TOs have interpreted this interaction). If opponents don't deal with her she is a big enough threat to single-handedly disrupt backline units or freely engage in secondaries. So basically I just use her to annoy the hell out of my opponents as much as possible...and so far it works...well unless I roll that 1 (which seems to happen more often than not) to bring her back.@@narrativecrusades707
@@narrativecrusades707 not fun at all, I was thinking about taking them into tournaments this year, as it would be my first venture into the tournament scene, but after a few games in I just can't find a reason to play them with what they have now.
I'll be honest. I love sisters but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a list thats fun. Last edition at end of the edition I was having a blast playing the army. I only ever played Valorous Heart or Argent Shroud and it was a *ton* of fun. 10th I can't figure out the list and I hate the detachment rule. I went to a few places looking for how to learn to play and list build... but to be honest... I think sisters just arent for me in the current edition and I hate that so much. Legit hate that I have anxiety over having to wait for a codex to see if playing sisters will even be enjoyable for me since I just can't even build this current sisters list in any way that is looking remotely fun.
As a further aside, about once a week since the edition dropped, I have tried to make the list. And the closest list I've found to liking had me bring a Knight... And I *despise* splashing stuff into my armies >x< Ever since 8th ed put a bad taste in my mouth I've hated splashing armies.
Right now the half decent lists do force us to take very select units which is not great for yourself or for many as I’ve seen similar feelings and comments a few times. Yeah sadly looks like we will have to await the codex. My advice is run what you like, maybe build to the new missions / cards a bit more but otherwise take whatever you like! It’s not ideal we won’t have much variety in play style until a codex drops!
I've won 100% quite convincingly, lots of tables even against Necrons. My club is quite casual, and I'm probably one of the stronger players, but even playing casual lists against more comp lists has gone well. If Sisters is one of the weakest factions, the balance of the game is quite superb. Tabled an eldar player in turn 3 with me on 480 pts vs 500 yesterday
Smashing it up mate!!! I mean there is a list that’s won tournaments so it’s not like it’s all doom and gloom but it is very narrow selection if you want to be doing that
Are they actually that bad... probably no but the rules crunch feels bad. Even when sisters were topping GTs in 9th it was one particular style of list abusing really easy secondaries to outscore the opponent. They suffered in 9th coming from 8th with how subfactions were structured. I dont think throwing them into 20 sister mobs and giving them 2 characters is the answer. That just makes them guardsmen. In which case then they lose something.
As a way of building an army I did like the ability to go mass infantry but you are quite right just doing that wouldn’t solve it. Hoping some faq or index updates are on the way!
The transition to 10ed really showed how much the win rate of Sisters in 9ed was propped up by Bloody Rose. The fact that GW's rules team has no idea how their own rules work or else they would've noticed that is extremely disappointing to say the least.
It’s not the best. And 100% I did ok with other orders but could never touch the punch that bloody rose brought to the table. I’d say you’re 100% right on that. How have your games been of late ?
Alternatively, they knew that and they decided to put out a concept to see what they do at base value to make rules better in time and give us good codex in the future
Maybe try fighting some of the harder factions and make a video about that, it doesn't mean that much if your games were against also low win rate factions

Genestealer guy is running probably the closest thing to a competitive list, and my army's the only one that's beat him so far because I keep dropping seraphim on his tokens and my bolter spam is pretty effective at killing his infantry.
It's been great fun, I much prefer 1k games over 2k.
@@dudemcfurgusson7179 I’m loving the grot spam, must feel funny as hell killing them and fighting your way through the endless bodies!
The group all together sounds like a
Good bunch and having fun together matters more than anything else!
Keep waiting for that codex buddy!
It’s where we’re at still
sisters feels like an unsynergy astra militarum army
Currently yes. We need some changes. What would you like to see personally?
I would’ve still got it wrong 😂
Thank you for correcting as it makes a difference!
no anti tank? Just drop a melta dominion squad out of an immolator. They have assault meltas so you're looking at 27 inches kill distance. Fire support makes it worse on your opponent too. Dialogus assures a 6" advance (32" kill range) Pal gives you lethals on 6. Doms murder tanks and monsters. I field 2 units ofem w both heros
YeH this is a great combo surprised more people aren’t using it. Those girls are so quick!
Tau deserve a win now and again 😂
Tbh if your friends and gaming circle are happy that’s worth so much more!
I'm not playing them again until the codex drops.I want to see what other detachment options there are.
More detachments will help the poor sisters a ton! However I’ve still had fun playing them on the channel. How’s your experience been so far?
Easy fix.
Meltas. Are anti vehicle 4+.
That works fantastically well
I've won 100% quite convincingly, lots of tables even against Necrons.
👍👍👍❤❤❤
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Maybe try fighting some of the harder factions and make a video about that, it doesn't mean that much if your games were against also low win rate factions
My point was that my wins weren’t against the top tier armies. Thanks for your comment let me know if you need anything mate
@@narrativecrusades707 Oh yes, I understand your point. Thank you for the video. As a sisters player, I am particularly interested in your fighting against normal/high win rate armies. I like this video but the combination of "they're better than you think!" and "this was successful against weak armies" leaves me wanting more information.
@@moomoomoo001 a very valid point. I’m certainly up for fighting some of
The better armies with them, I’d need to go further afield / to some events.
Yeah my personal experience is they’re alright, playable in a friendly setting!
Most watered down, boring faction rn. They feel like a last-minute ruleset when the writers forgot about them until the execs said "Hey were gonna start publishing PDF's next week"
I think it’s more likely that there were multiple teams and less effort put into the index’s knowing codexs would come later
