The poetry bookshelf is perfect! I would be very happy to look at it each morning too 😊 I love sitting with my coffee in my bed in the morning too, but once I have to put my book down to tackle the day, I tend to get grumpier and grumpier because I want that peace of mind back 😂 I loved your reading of the poem ❤ I need to read more Mary Oliver. That’s such a wonderful idea: letter writing, especially with an impressionable young person. I just love it. Pairing a deck with a poem is a beautiful idea! Loved this Giselle ❤❤❤
You've given me some wonderful memories of a glorious labernum tree I grew up with.....thank you G 💛 I love how you continue to find ways to weave your passions and make the most of your decks. I too sit in bed with a cuppa when man & boy have headed out for the day - arent we lucky ladies?! 🥰 I'm currently luxuriating in the new Nigel Slater, A Thousand Feasts. You would love this G - tasty mini diary treats of food savoured, blooms inhaled and landscapes walked upon. "I clearly have a weakness for decks & books....." this sounds like the beginning of magical memoir I'd love to read and no doubt be part of 🤣🤣😭🙏❤️
I have a new Nigel Slater book too!!! Laburnum trees are beautiful, I love seeing these arches that are being created like Wisteria to walk down. thank you as always for popping by the cottage, and taking time to comment. much love Gx
Great idea. Thank you for reminding me of fond memories of Basildon Bond paper and ink blotter, and the little blue Brother that I learnt to type on. Love slowing down. I don't make videos to share but I do something similar with my decks and folklore, seasonal books. A few words stand out and I find cards that enhance or relate to the imagery or feelings. This often then prompts an observation in nature or link to another text or image. Going slow allows the web of interconnections to reveal themselves like a spider web or the pattern of tree branches in a wood, so easy to miss when rushing through life.
Im sorry you dont share videos but do you have instragram ? I love the idea of decks and folklore, with seasonal books, sounds really interesting, would love to know more. thank you for sharing. xxx
This was lovely, thank you, and yes ... "setting intentions not goals" has been my practice for about a decade now so this is an important concept for many people to step into sometimes (in ebb and flow, of course, depending upon one's individual lifestyle and temperament). This is interesting: This is the second time in two days that I've seen someone pull out the Linestrider! I may have to go ask the deck why this may be... :) And as you say, any "inspirational text" and "that doesn't have to be poetry". My entire blog is directly linked in to all the aspects of the Dance of Creativity you've been talking about lately; you are generously and beautifully sharing inspiration to others. Another coincidence is that I have been dropping many TarotTube channels, too, so that I can focus upon ones that uplift me around creative writing/journaling. And, yes, I often integrate my writing, reading, and decks -- last year, each of my new novel characters 'chose' a deck to represent themselves. LOL Blessings!
I think true magick is in inspiration whether its poetry or a book or tarot, art, music...I love the connection to others who are inspired or inspire. Thank you so much for watching and taking time to share your thoughts. much love Gx
I think you might have been talking about the book by Rae Beth called Hedge Witch? Which is funny because you had the hedgewitch fieldguide sitting on your table when you mentioned the book. I also have set an intention to read poetry and match them to decks this month/year. And when you said “the more I structure something, the more I don’t follow it thru to the end”. I have that exact same challenge. I really want to try to loosen up this year and just enjoy my practice rather than obsessing about goals. And finally, I have also stopped watching videos that result in me buying more decks. This year I am committed to using the decks I already have. I loved this video so much! Thank you for sharing.
@@megadele65 YES! 💐😊 that is the book 🤣 my brain just doesn't retain anything much. Its a lovely read and yes the Hedgewitch oracle was a good hint 🤣🤣. I am delighted you are doing the same intentions, pls do keep me posted on how you get on..do you post on Instagram? Definitely let's not give it any structure 🤣😊💐 wishing you a lovely journey, thank you for watching and taking time to comment xxx
I do love the way you think! I think this is a Wonderful idea 💡I am going to look into Mary Oliver and i would love to marry some poetry with decks 💖💖I started to slow down because i had to and now i slow down because i love it 🥰Thank you for sharing your Wonderful knowledge and ideas with us 🥰It's always so nice to see you 🤗🤗❤❤
Thank you Dawn as always for popping by ... it feels good to share poetry and ideas that inspire someone to be inspired themselves...enjoy slowing down with poetry x xx
Love the idea of intentions instead of goals. Poetry is magic and it works beautifully with tarot, so this I imagine this intention of yours is going to be great. I really like Siolo Thompson's art but my Linestrider tarot is that horrible cardboard type stock that the first printing was in, it's not nice to shuffle. I don't know if subsequent printings are on better cardstock but I am terrible at picking up second copies of decks I already own because I would rather get a deck I don't have with the money. Don't even get me started on stamp prices! Postage in the UK is bananas these days, I nearly cried at the cost of sending out my xmas cards last year. We need a re-nationalised Royal Mail (among other services). Thanks for sharing. x
I didn't even know that the Linestrider had been indie my cardstock is normal. Have you considered selling it and replacing with the reprint ? I have one duplicate copy of the Crystal Visions tarot because I edge my other one, but thats it. Like you I can't have back up copies when I still have decks I would love. I totally agree a re-nationalised everything would be very good indeed. Thank you for watching and taking time to comment, it means a great deal xxx
This was so lovely...poetry is the music of words. I have written poetry of love, poetry of heartbreak, poertry of trauma...some I paired with music, some stood in its own energy. Poetry is underappreciated for its potential for simple enjoyment to profound healing at the deepest level. I so appreciate you sharing this facet of who you are❤
When a poet makes you visualise the words and bring them to life in your mind..... and then you dear Giselle bring it even more to life. This whole video 🙏💜🙏 and yes Rae Beth, I dip in and out of reading the book. It's currently in the chest of drawers waiting for the next time.
This was lovely and I would have called that poem Counting Leaves too 🥰. I love the look of the Lost Spells book, it might have to go on my wish list 😆. I think setting intentions is much better than goals, if I do goals chances are they won’t happen 😆🥰💖
i don't read poetry. however, mary oliver is *magic*. she...well, her poetry is pantheistic and lifted me up back when i was in my 20's and having a very difficult time 💙
