lol showing the ryan adams rec then immediately playing motion sickness
That's exactly what I was thinking, too.
Ian Harrison glad someone said it
Lolololol the irony
My exact same immediate reaction
Well that’s aged well 🙁
Her singing voice is so much higher than her talking voice. I like both of them.
What plugged-in intern keeps getting these cool indie acts and putting them on national tv? Good on ‘em.
It seems as though "indie" is the new mainstream. I grew up musically in the 70's and 80's and saw first hand punk turn into mainstream. (I saw "saw" because it happened on MTV).
@@URKillingme100 Yes it has happened during all ages, Beatles was underground af at one point xD
crazy how tomboyish and down to earth she is while giving vibes of like a fairy or an angel lmao
I used to see her at Folk Music Center and I couldn’t believe at the age of 14 how comfortable she was on stage. Such a breath of fresh air.
Yes!! The first time I saw her out of singing I was so shocked
Lies again? Audacity Module
it honestly made me sick to see Ryan Adams name next to Pheobe's, she's so incredible and that sociopath doesn't deserve to have his name next to hers.
It shows how out of touch major news sources are. His name has been a source of disregard for years in the indie scene, far before this video was released.
@@SM-tj6qp you’re right, that’s definitely what exploded it. It may have been a hush word of mouth thing, I remember hearing conversations of it when I was in Orange County around 2014-2016, thrown in with conversations about The Growlers.
I played many gigs around that time in OC, and it was well known that The Growlers were doing and saying gross things with minors (a few of which I performed with) and that info didn’t surface with major news outlets until this year.
I'm confused, what did he do that was so wrong? The FBI investigated and cleared him. So the only apparent issue seemed to have been him asking women out.
@@hislord1 I have no idea mate- I've only ever just heard of this lady tonight- bored on UA-cam. Quite like her singing though. On the subject of Ryan Adams though- isn't he the guy who released a song just after the twin towers went down, playing on the emotions of everyone back in the day to push his fame? Seemed obvious to me over here in England at the time but obviously, everyone over there was far too upset to realise it- rightly so of course. I remember him because I thought that maybe he picked that name because it sounds like Bryan Adams. Musically the guy is vanilla aside from whatever else he's done in my opinion.
She's full of herself and loves John Mayer and Ryan Adams. Start listening to John Lennon and BIOYA!😋
was NOT expecting to see ryan adams' name...the audacity yo
God, I love her... I had tickets to see her and The 1975 this month, so bummed it was canceled.
me too ):
"i've always wanted to sound like myself" :)
This ends literally mid sentence and extremely abruptly lol
"you shall not see the entire interview!" -CBS
Now knowing every word to every song Phoebe has released publicly, I’m thinking to myself... how did I discover her? I’m pretty sure it was the song she did with Noah and Abby Gundersen where they smashed two of their existing songs together. It’s called “Killer + The sound” and it’s beautiful.
She’s amazing, I remember seeing her at the Grammys last year and had planned to check out her music after it was over. But completely forgot. So yeah just got around to listening to her stuff this year. Love it.
so in 2008 this girl was only 14! the last ten years just felt like 5....crazy how times speeds up as you get older!
Very interesting how she'd mishear music and think it's something that's very cool but it's not. I've misheard music lots of times - like if it's very quiet in another room and you can only hear some notes. Your brain can add notes between and create something incredibly unique and awesome. I just never knew of a way that I could record it somehow before I forgot it. It's a shame
hypoeddy Thought that was really interesting too! I've definitely experienced that
When I found her 2 years ago, I fell in love
It's cool how her cheery upbeat disposition contrasts so much with her morose singing style.
Harvey Weinst… *ahem* Ryan Adams was so right about Phoebe. I can't list to (or even thing about) two of her songs without openly crying out loud.
I also have an ongoing iPhone note. Been keeping it for more than 4 years now.
Could you elaborate? I'm out of the loop cause I just started listening to her recently. What songs, and what happened?
@@flmang Sexual assault allegations? Can't find any articles on that. The only serious one was what the FBI investigated and eventually cleared him on. He simply asked out the women he worked with but that doesn't amount to sexual assault.
Ryan Adams right before Motion Sickness, oh the irony haha
it's ironic because i thought she had a leonard cohen inspiration and style of folk storytelling. she's pretty damn good and deserves the spotlight.
New Legend in my Generation💙.Cbs Mornings Thankyou.
hearing Ryan Adam's name made me say a giant OOFF
GO PHOEBE
Beautiful and talented
Her eyebrow game is on another level.
Shouts out to Jackson Browne, nice!
This is beautiful
Imagine having parents who support your artistic aspirations 🥲some people are just luckier than others.
Wauw, thanks Qobuz 4 intro. PB is top arrow to our hearts. Cant wait to hear more!!!
N1 the Best voice in this time🌹
Lovely, talented...AND poised. I wish her well - and I LOVE 'Motion Sickness'. BRAVO!
Great voice. She sounds a lot like Deb Talan of The Weepies.
That's exactly what I was thinking! She's brilliant.
I love Deb’s solo work!
Thnx ;)
"I could release an electronic record next and nobody would be surprised."
Honestly, maybe not a proper electronic album, but a more experimental, avant-garde album would honestly be welcome from her. I love the folk style but I think she may have already perfected it for herself, I don't know if there's really a whole lot more territory she can cover here, and so a sea change like that that still keeps her songwriting would be welcome for me.
Couldn't agree more.
Just like Sufjan did with The Age of Adz
She said “electronica and country”; she was referencing Bright Eyes releasing Wide Awake & Digital Ash on the same day, I’m sure.
Hi Phoebe if you're reading this please marry me okay thanks
...on finding her sound of the 90ies :P
Where are my sophisticated emo gays at?
this has been 5yrs already?! T^T
Oh cool. No wonder I like her so much. She was raised in Pasadena like Eddie & Alex Van Halen were. Sweet.....😊
ruf1970 yes sirrr
WAIT SHE ALSO MISHEARS MUSIC AND USES IT TO WRITE??? I LEGIT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME WHO DID THAT
Shes so awesome and laid back.
She literally looks like a female Jack White.
where did “Coming down” go?
she looks like the lesbian version of Brie Larson and I'm here for it.
emily kendall she is😂 look at her Instagram
Good to see you've prioritized the right things...
She’s not a lesbian though... lol
She's bi
morning tv is so frustrating. just let her talk about herself, stop making a documentary.
Right? The interviewer’s social connection is fine, but I’d rather hear questions bigger than the standard “so when did you get started?”. What is this, a high school journalism class?
The idea of having such a formal interview in front of a full camera and audio crew and asking such basic questions is an insult to your audience and the artist.
Man, old news sucks. Crazy that this used to be all there was.
She sounds like billie when speaking
its kinda creepy how we both have the same process of mishearing music and thinking its cool XD.
Figure out..
Kind of an abrupt ending
Over in Britain we have one JASMINE LAMPORT who is gradually being appreciated....she is on Spotify with three of many songs to arrive...possibly, if the demand is there.
SONIC FOXX MUSIC I guess the demand wasn’t there. Sorry Jasmine!
she is bae
it's so gross how they keep mentioning r*an ad*ms like for god's sake do your research
Proves that you don't have to yell or rap to be heard!
Just say you hate black people
Modern vampiress
Oh wait so she started as coathanger joke! Not surprised
Phoebe Bridgers have my babies please.
Ram Dent who do you think motion sickness is about?
hypocrisy
Mediocre AT BEST 🤢
Plus she had the audacity of dissing Eric Clapton
waaaaannnnnnaabeee
#Forgettable
UA-cam comments that aged like milk
When you mishear music in the grocery store. SAme
Goodness, she's so pretty!
Man, pretty sure she’s a Targaryen 😍
it's the picture of young Phoebe at the Folk Music Center for me
anyways uhhhmmm I would die for phoebes electronic album thank you
Please don't leave Silverlake for Austin or Brooklyn. Let's keep the cool in LA.
