Don't forget that the Iron Man suit in the movies and comics are much larger than the person inside of it. You should take full advantage of that so that you get all the things in it that you're wanting to. There's a good 2cm around all sides of the helmet. And much larger around the body armor. As well as the arms and legs.
I could imagine that by the time it's done, the dimensions might be closes to the armor from Halo than Iron-man for the sake of movement and included tech.

Hey Alex! Loving the progress. I wanted to point out to you that recently I read of an electrolyzer tip that some scientists discovered: aluminum plates should be much more efficient than the normal material.
Last year I was close to jump to the 3d print world getting a flsun v400 but since it was my first 3d printer and it was rated like easy for beginners I was kinda motivated. But after seeing a lot of negative comments and for the price (around 980$ that time) I just didn't got it. Thank you for your video, I hope to see more with the flsun v400 ! Maybe I'll get one for christmas this year who knows :D
Glad that you made the V400 work, my self, after dealing with a few 3D printers from different brands, I came across the V400 issues and they steered me away from it, I decided to give Bambu Lab a try and I have to say that I the P1P is just amazing, I understand that the build volume is not the same, but the just the speed and quality are great.
yeah to all of that, with two exceptions. I had no prior experience with printing at all but I just HAD TO have a v400 haha. Then I also had to follow the instructions much better than I normally do so I did and my machine is a little indestructible monster ... it just moves scary fast! And it just works. One thing which surprised me is that it's actually pretty silent for what it does I think? I'm now learning Fusion 360 the personal version for free and I like. I have been 3D modeling before so it's kind of same same but different, with more parameters in CAD or course. But I just love that machine already!
Love your work man, looking forward to the next version of the armour after you've completed the rapid prototyping adjustments to allow for movement etc
would be great to see a bullet proof test, with a kevlar, carbon fibre and metal plated combination test, I know it probably wouldn't stop a bullet, but to see how much (or should say if any) stopping power it would have, if nothing else it for sure would be entertaining :)
I would just build it out of plate armor like medieval armor if its going to have actuation for load support. That will be difficult and expensive though.
you would be surprised how easy it is to stop bullets. its all about how many layers you add. people make .5 inch thick plates with just fiberglass fabric and resin.
Honestly I would have expected a printer of that size and claims to be closer to $1000 or well above. Glad the technicaly issues smoothed out, making it a much better machine for your purposes. I hadn't really considered the benefits of the composite materials beyond the armor, but in recent months I'd also been watching a guy building an "Akira" bike with constant frame welding and prototyping external body parts from Fiberglass and now I can imagine where those parts could be a lot stronger in the final assembly now with the methods you've shown.
Hello ALEX if you are looking for a very fast 3D printer I'd suggest you look into resin 3D printers if you haven't already, they print a whole layer at one time, and can cut printing time in half, the issue is that it does require much more post processing. But is much better when it comes to details
The bulk of the print time is the actual laying down of plastics, significantly reducing accelerations and move speeds won't increase print times much but will make a huge difference in quality(yes I do have a V400 and my 0.24 layers are smooth to the point of making the print look like 0.1 layers(better than what is shown at the 12:50 mark)).... I also stuck with the Cura 5 that came with the default profile installed, tried a newer Cura and quickly noped out of that, no point in fixing something that isn't broken just for the sake of something being newer. Did some full bed single layer tests to tweak the first layer and found that 0.1 gave the best result as far as consistent first layer was concerned as my bed is NOT entirely flat, later increased mesh points from the default 7x7 to 9x9 and that helped a lot but still stuck with the 0.1 first layer for all my profiles(which have zero/near-zero nozzle scraping btw) as there was no point in redoing the first layer tuning just to get a thicker first layer(it's 0.1 so it also introduces less dimensional errors in Z due to an uneven bed than thicker layers would(I only do functional prints)). That said I'm happy with the V400 as my 4th printer(first I got was so long ago it had an original reprap board in it...) to the point of being unlikely to ever get another one short of a large IDEX or a mini voron......
Cartesian, Cartesian kinematics. You are a legit genius tho and it would be an honor to work with you on a project someday. Understanding statics and stress analysis/ CFD is going to be the next big hurdle to make this sort of thing a reality.

Instead of the composite materials for support, perhaps you could spray thin layers of Line X inside all molds, not only for reinforcement but also for actual defensive qualities without it being heavy like metal. Conceptually, thick enough layers can make it almost bulletproof. (some people have experimented with this)
There is a spray paint that makes things indistructible. You should try to use that with hard plastic material which will give you best strength that could reach to nearly bulletproof hardness and extremely light weight as compared to metal.

This doesnt generate electricity, it loses it in large amounts, and the arcs are useless for glowing. At that plint just add some blue leds inside and a large capacitor and call it a day
Its been 9 months alex hope your Okay dude. Cant wait for an update
Instead of the composite materials for support, perhaps you could spray thin layers of Line X inside all molds, not only for reinforcement but also for actual defensive qualities without it being heavy like metal. Conceptually, thick enough layers can make it almost bulletproof. (some people have experimented with this)
hello where are you sir... waiting from so long to see your work
men I really want to be able to make such great projects like you!
This dude is russian Tony Stark. Thank you for composite playlist. I am learning.
There is a spray paint that makes things indistructible. You should try to use that with hard plastic material which will give you best strength that could reach to nearly bulletproof hardness and extremely light weight as compared to metal.
Bro please make a video on propulsion system for flight
