I like Charlo but I’ve been in this kid since al haymon signed him out the amatuers he is special 50 50 fight and castano is the best fighter jermel ever fought and I’m not 2 sure I can say the same about el boxi he has wins over Spence and derv people it’s a great fight best fight of the year on paper for hardcore boxing fans so far this year
Wouldn’t mind seeing this rematch take place in the pro ranks. Castano now campaigning at 154, and Derevyechenko at 160, but I think this would make for a great rematch.

Muy cerrada la pelea, pudo haber sido para cualquiera
Viendo esta pelea es imposible no ilusionarse con el futuro de Brian. Derevyanchenko es uno de los prospectos más temidos hoy en día y aparte se re notaba la diferencia de categorías en cuanto a peso. Sin Embargo Castaño le dió una tremenda pelea, que era empate para mi pero claramente vale como una victoria. Si se queda en Superwelter que es su categoría natural va a ser campeón del Mundo segurisimo.

Notice castanos ectemely tight guard, guys very disciplined. Even Lara had problems with him. I have always thought Lara was one of the best pure technical boxers to lace em up at 154. And his losses to Hurd (SD), Clenelo (SD), and Paul Williams (MD), are nothing to be ashamed of. I think Hurd won in a close fight, I think the Clenelo fight was closer to a draw, and I had the Williams fight being correctly scored for the most part as well. Just sorta thought Lara has proved time and time again he belongs up there even at 36yo. Brian Castano helluva fighter and he’s a young guy. Lara straight battled him and went toe to toe. Castano, Derevyechenko, lara, these guys are exciting to watch for fans.
Why do you think lara did not go toe to toe with canelo? Canelo is better than castaño and hurd. Lara even went toe to toe with Hurd. Yes i do agree that lara is really good but as fan favorite? No. Castaño getting stopped by charlo imo. Interesting fight to see.

GGG lo retira a Castaño. Al boxi no le da el físico para 160 pero en 154 les puede ganar a todos , mi opinión.

i never saw derevyachenko look bad . in this fight he looked beatable but in reality he's not beatable. shit castano is that good??
nando carpi Castano fought Lara really competitively and earned a draw. Castano is very underrated fighter and just actually relinquished a belt. He’s legit. I don’t know if Castano is better than Derevyechenko at this point in their careers, but both are well above average fighters in their division. Castano reminds me of a younger Lucas Mattyse. Both Argentinian fighters, both tough, like to go to the body. Castano doesn’t have a long reach, and therefore usually likes to get inside and try to make it a dirty fight. He’s got quick inside punches throws an absolutely great short left hook. Watch that Castano vs Lara fight.

Desde que boxean las minas se creen que todas saben, este pibe es muy bueno, el ruso era zorro viejo, 6 kilos mas, y aun asi Castaño recibio, pero el ruso se llevo un gran recuerdo el ultimo round quedo boqueando mal, si lo llevan bien y despacio este pibe es campeon mundial a parte tiene un corazon, que hacia rato no le veia a un boxeador argentino

How come this fight is not in either fighter's history record? I just don't get it. I've looked it up in boxrec.com, a leading site for boxers' records.
This was the world series of boxing. All top ranked amateur fighters from different countries fighting pro style. Those fights didn't count on their pro records
Derevyanchanko is a tough fella to fight toe on toe... But still such a fight with him.. and that's great... Draw with charlo

Castano should step down to 147 to be more potential to win the crown. Too small to be a mid div contender.

Hi Tony! They are professionals right now. Castaño since 2012 and Derevyanchenko since this year. Their pro records are: 7-0-0 6KO for Castaño (in superwelter) and 2-0-0 1KO for Derevyanchenko (in middleweight). Both will return to ring in the next month (Castaño was injured).
They are both doing well now (As of early 2019). Derevyanchenko is a top 10 contender in the Middleweight division, coming off his first loss in a tough fight to current champion Danny Jacobs. Brian Castano is a belt holder and just made his major network U.S. Debut against Cuban technician Erislandy Lara, which was a draw- Castano looked quite good in that fight. He is a champion and making a pretty big splash at Jr. Middleweight.
