I explore the various abandoned and decrepit buildings and locations that pepper the world. These places are remnants of the past, and I enjoy documenting them for all to see before they succumb to man or Mother Nature. Join me as I enter the belly of the beast and show you what these abandoned buildings have to offer on the inside. Happy Hunting and I wish everyone safe explorations :)

This water park should be re sanitized and get put back in to business!🤔
I feel like at this point get the sanitation department or pay someone and then the city should sell it as a business / property. That way it wouldn't just sit there.
Actually, it is in business. It's connected to a Hilton Double Tree Hotel. It's in Danvers Massachusetts. I went here in December of 2018. The place is called CoCo Keys. It even has the parrot.

I lived in Rockford for almost 40 years and worked for 11 years at the Clock Tower Resort. Coco Keys wasn't a thing until 8 or 9 years after I left Clock Tower but I took my kids there a few times. The resort itself was condemned by the city in 2017, two years after the water park had been shut down. The whole thing to me is pretty symbolic of Rockford itself. The resort basically served as a landmark that welcomed people into Rockford as they came off I-90 in its glory days, and subsequently did the opposite after it began tumbling into disrepair after 2014-15. It's as if it was telling people, "keep driving, nothing to see here", which unfortunately speaks volumes for the rest of Rockford. Supposedly there's a proposal to put a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on the land that the facility occupied, but time will tell. Historically, the city has managed to shit all over anything that could attract progress and tourism, and has basically become a hellhole over the last 30 years.
God damn. This is so sad. I went to this exact water park in 2013 or 2014 after school on some Friday “club field trip” with my friends. It’s so sad to see what happened to this, I know that I had a lot of fun that day and it’s sad to think it went under just a few years later. I still have a photo strip of our fun day together as they had a little photo booth in the lobby!

Worked here for many years. Know every inch of that place.... Was a lifeguard, did more repairs to that place than the maintenance staff. What does that tell you?.. This place was a cesspool the entire last 5 years it was open. I used to walk around that place stating over and over that it need to be demolished. One of Rockfords biggest failed businesses of what could have been incredible.
When the park opened, it thrived for a few years. It was connected to a very large hotel/resort/convention center. In its final years they went through a number of owners. All of which just decided to bandaid broken thing instead of fix them, all throughout the property, not just the waterpark. The place had soooooo much potential but it was going to take ALOT of money to get it back on its feet entirely and I think that's what the final owners knew. In that case the owner just squeezed every penny out of it they could without putting any money into it. It became ghetto and dirty. No one wanted to come. In the final year someone got shot and killed in the hotel..
-hears running water- ....Ya no.

As someone who works in an indoor water park... yes.
Our local COCO Keys is nasty as well. I'm shock that it is still open to be honest. Last year they were closed for 6 months for "updating".

So are outdoor water parks. One near us several years back was always contaminated. Urination in the park and other nasties ! The park was closed way more than open. Big waste of money and resources.
NO WAY! I went to this place twice: Once when I was about 5 or 6 for a birthday party and another time when I was about 14, maybe the same year they closed. The first time I went, I got awfully sick, flu or food poisoning type symptoms, and didn’t know if it was because of the pizza or the water. The second time I went, I was definitely older than the target audience, I found it pretty boring. Didn’t get sick, but I remember the water was either cold or hot depending on which area, and the pool with basket balls was very murky and smelled like chemicals. They were closed once before for failing inspections for things like leaking pipes, dirt, etc, and reopened without actually fixing anything. The second time they closed was for good. What a mess...

There a CoCo key in Florida and is still open but is mainly outside
This is CoCo Keys Water Park in Rockford, Il. I went there several times before they closed. The bacteria problem they had was due to poor management. The maintenance team was very bad at regulating chlorine levels, and at times there was far too much chlorine for safe swimming, other times there wasn't enough, leading to bacteria prospering. Additionally, the Best Western owned Clock Tower Resort that was connected had several incidences of gun violence, and was forced to shut down. My parents have fond memories, as their wedding reception was at the resort back when it was a respectable establishment. It is a very interesting experience to see the place I used to swim and play at in it's current state. Thank you
The name of the park is coco keys, located in Omaha, Nebraska. I remember this park very well, I used to go here all of the time with my family. It's crazy to see what happened.

This is how it starts
this is in my city , it’s coco keys. it’s a big part of my childhood, this is before we ran around in it and before people demolished it with spray paint . people still tend to go in there now, but there’s a lot more security. cool video ❤️
I did some research and I went here when it was still open. It was pretty empty. There were lots of restaurants and activities that were closed. The arcade was the only thing that wasn’t bad. The water park was filled with freezing cold water to the point where the life guards were wearing jackets.
This gives me anxiety 😅
Back of my head; slide don’t break
Tania Melendez dude same! I wanna watch these videos but they scare me!
Wait.... HOLY CRAP, THAT USED TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE WATER PARKS. I was wondering what happened to it... (EDIT): Thanks for so many likes, guys! But, for all of the comments saying “Did you get Ebola?” No I did not. I was like 7 when I went there last, I didn’t even know what Ebola was. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Hope I cleared that up.)
Piinto Bean yeah sure
Piinto Bean I’ve been there too what is the name of it I was like 5 when I went
But you would of gotten suck? 0.0
Reeeeeeeeeee
Piinto Bean I didn’t know you were a fan of Ebola
At first I was like that's cant be it but then I went to that resort for my eighth bday 😦😧
Me and a friend visited this place when it was open around 2013. It was in Rockford and the place name was Coco Keys. We visited the hotel that was at this place also. The hotel was very bad but the water park was ok. Not the best but not the worst either. It was very noisy with kids making lots of noises but if you rented a cabin you didnt heard as much as when you were in the water. I did tested the big water slide and sure got wet there.
That would of been one of the best water parks if the bacteria outbreaks didn’t happen 😷
Siham Darwish it was the best

*A Name Bacteria can live for very long. A few years ago, they found bacteria that had been 100k years old, and still alive.
400000 years later.
YO THAT'S COCO KEY!!! I've been there so many times!! never got E coli though, lmao. That's crazy, seeing it empty, I always had so much fun there :) Same thing happened to Fort Rapids in 2016, been there a lot too.
This place was Coco Key in Rockford IL, one of my childhood gems and have lot of good memories there. Sad to see it decay like this but it had a good reason to close. Hopefully someone can restore it to its awesome waterpark goodness.
This was in Rockford Il. Got demolished. I only went there once with friends, that was before everybody was getting sick:(

God that’s crazy recognized it instantly. Used to go there as a kid. Even had a theme song

Same, and I remember the lazy river, it was hard to keep your head up there because of the amount of tubes people were in.
