- What is better than one poisoned pawn...two poison pawns. It's so tempting that even the world champion has fallen victim to the double poisoned pawn trap.

Interesting variation
Probably never going to play it since I never play e6
Yeah I don't play it from black's standpoint but I do play white's variation often when facing the French and avoid taking the doubled pawns with my queen.
White's queen defense really has all the eggs in one basket after the deflection.
At 2:20 When the Queen attacks the black pawn, the black king can go from E8 to D7. Whats your thought? 🤔
What would be the point of that move?
@@Trias805 it protect the rock
Haven't really checked out this channel for about a decade. How come before most of the chess content I've seen then was from this channel but then now it's Gotham chess, Eric rosen, botez, agadmator, et Al?
Main reason for this is that UA-cam algorithm (and viewers) tend to like videos showing a face in the thumbnail.
The final screen shot is showing white the potential for knight to C7 for a fork. I don't see a good counter unless you move your king that direction. Is that the best option?
Yes he did not mention it
Thank you
You're welcome
1 question Kevin. If there was a situation that was better for us to move our king which makes us be no longer able to castle, should we really move the king or search for a better solution? Thanks.
I play the French a lot, and I've never seen Qg4 right away, before playing a3 first. Usually white plays a3 to force Bxc3 bxc3, and then after Qc7 or Ne7, only then does white play Qg4.
Cool!
Glad you liked it.
One of my favorite defenses but can i use it against D4?
Yes, it still possible and can be transposed. After d4, you go d5. White might do something like e4 and that is Blackmar Gambit hoping you'll fall for the Halosar Trap, i presume. You don't have to capture it but instead you go e6, and then white will probably go e5 which is called French Defense Advance Variation. From here you go Bb4+ and if white blocks it with Nc3, then you go c5. In these moves, black and white's positions were already similar to 0:38 of this video. So, to sum it up, these are the order of the moves...
1. d4 d5
2. e4 e6
3. e5 Bb4+
4. Nc3 c5
Hope this help and also your opponent will fall to this. XD
play qgb against d4 . d4 d5 if white doesn’t play c4 devople for bishop to f4 if he play then there is tons of replies you can play
Winnower variation
But But...at 8.25 White Bishop to G6 and finito.
Just move the king
I don't know about other people but my opponents never fall for such traps.
Due to this, I'm sure that these videos are useful for lower rated players, but the optimal format for a higher rated audience would most likely be something like:
1. Starting with a general, quick introduction to what the trap looks like.
2. Showing all the trickier or intuitive lines opponent may make, which actually harm or make a significant difference to their, or your position.
It's not that I'm not fine with your current videos - I think I watched hundreds of them at this point.
It's just, in my opinion they are very informative, but not as "helpful".
In the case for the Poisoned Pawn Trap, black didn't make a bad move to try and bait white to fall for the trap. They played the opening normally, even if they knew white definitely would not take any pawns with the queen.
