The only thing good about COVID is that these shows don't have stupid audiences screaming their heads off during all of the "wow" moments. The performances are so much better with just the judges sitting there appreciating and soaking in the awesomeness. Louise's performance of Indigo Night was so pure and special because of the quiet as well.

Why is everyone comparing this version to Kay’s? They have both completely different styles, unique voices and incredible talent. Both are so talented that they made this song their own in a completely different way. No need to decide which version you like better, just enjoy.

Because her audition was like THE audition last year and it's only been one cycle since. So it's still fresh in people's minds , I think comparison is inevitable . Even though aside from their aesthetic being similar their tones and voices were 100% different .
I agree! Comparisons are moot. Kay's audition was pure magic. For me personally, this one is too. The arrangement, his voice, the overall vibe; pure magic. It takes nothing away from Kay's magic. And now we have Vike's magic. There's enough magic to go around. We don't need to pick sides.

That song is the standard white male indie singer who plays a guitar song. With a rock edge usually lol. Plus, Terence murdered that song and this guy already did a song everyone was familiar with by another contestant , so although he would sound beautiful performing the blowers daughter, I think it would get compared to Terence's which is like the gold standard on this show.

Je ne sais plus combien de fois j'ai déjà regardé cette vidéo. Performance magistral, il y met son âme, son innocence, son humilité, et ok chante bien le mec. Il est au top.
God only knows how much I love Billie but tbh this version was better than the original imo. As Vianney said I loved everything about it.

The minute I heard and saw this man, I was struck with emotion. He is the closest thing I have seen the Chris Cornell. I imagine this is exactly how one of the greatest voices in rock would’ve covered this.

Emerging candidate (not already professionnal), but already a good technique and very natural voice, he is a suitable candidate.
I remind you that french public doesn't like to crown candidates that are ALREADY great professionnals, the candidate must be ermerging talent
So you can already forget Natalie for example, this is the reason why many "good" candidates are not choosen by coaches when the voice is technically already perfectly controlled, unless this candidate offers a strong personality, something very singular. In such case, coachs expect to have a professionnal singer, and are not so interested in, except in order to complete their team, because they already think of future battles, and so choice may also depend on what profiles are present in the rival teams.
Professional candidates in the Voice France are some kind of sparing partners to make emerge a new young talent.
When Vianney says to other coachs (but not here) "c'est un chanteur" (this is a singer), this mostly means..."this guy is already a great professional, I don't care, I have nothing to bring to him".
