I want to thank you for your video coverage of railfanning in the Gary area. Years ago I railfanned at places like Tolleston, Gary Union Station, the PRR depot at 5th & Chase, and several South Shore Line locations, including Ambridge Ave, Clark Rd, Buchanon St and the old station on Broadway. I remember Gary Union Station when it was still in full use, with its neat waiting room and several Penn Central and B&O trains stopping there. I enjoy viewing your videos of current operations in your area. Best wishes to you. - Verne Brummel, Madison,WI
Thanks for the full tour. When you come back whenever they start operation,, please show us a signal head. When CalTrain in the SF Peninsula started building for electric, they went to three aspects including flashing lights when the aspect is about to change. Also in comparison, it looks like somebody cheaped out by not making more upper/northern sections elevated; those road crossings WILL become a problem. Caltrain took forever to make almost all of it elevated with no roller coaster stuff. Talk about tagging, how come that new finished station isn't completely covered by now? What kind of lazy hoods you got over there? 😄 And the Great Wall further down the line needs artwork somehow. Or trees. I prefer art.
Hell of tour have to say I remember years back they wanted to run the South Shore line from Hammond to Lowell and Hammond to Valparaiso
Said wasn't enough ridership in Lowell and CSX didn't want SS to electrify any part of the Ft. Wayne.

I'm disappointed that this new line is not double tracked!
It is double tracked
