A million years ahead of everyone
Still, one of my favorite of the early Beatles. Vocals were spot on, lead and backing, and very good production. Those have to have been bongos in the background. Very unusual. Help was a jump up in recording quality. Very good album, and like always one of the years top pop best.
Their writing really started to take off.

I've loved this song since the day I first heard it in 1965. Ringo's bongos fit so perfectly. Pure genius. This song and The Night Before from Help! are highly under-appreciated and both show how they were evolving.
I REALLY enjoyed your REACTION video. I first heard this song in 1965 while watching HELP in a movie theater (a double feature with a Jerry Lewis film). I went with my Dad's sister, my OTHER aunt Donna who HAD been to a few Beatles concerts with my older brother and the fella who eventually would become her husband. Dave was going to technical college learning all manner of broadcasting so he had a couple of FREE tickets. Our brother got their tickets the old fashioned way, they PAID for them! Anyway, the song GRABBED me then and GRABS me now. Thank YOU!

There is a school of thought that says Your Going To Lose That Girl represents the last song that would fit on any of their previous 4 albums. I agree. It checks all the early Lennon/McCartney boxes. Lennon owning the song. Vintage McCartney/Harrison call-response harmony vocals. Like She Loves You, it adds a third person element to the storytelling. I heard a story about a 12 yr old girl who heard this playing in a store and thought it was a new song. She Googled it and found out it was the Beatles and she downloaded it and then started listening to all the Beatles stuff and now is a big fan! Amazing how great tunes can carry on forever!

For a while, two guys with guitars could do Beatles songs well-enough. But finally, this was soooo catchy and it begged for a 3rd vocalist for that from-the-beginning double harmony. So much fun.

Yeah just came out with The Help movie and there was the album of course we had the American version which was a lot different I mean I love that version because it had all these really cool instrumentals from the movie I remember when CDs came out and they didn't have these versions anymore so the only way you can get that version instead by the original vinyl then later on they came out with the American versions on CD that was a lot later on my brother and I went to the theater and actually saw this movie when it came out the theater was jam-packed okay girl oh you know what? If you actually get the movie on DVD or Blu-ray I'm telling you the sound quality of all the music is just absolutely stellar alright girl
@Cimdystyle.. Hi darling check out the movie its funny and we get to see a unique musical film starring The Beatles and they look fabulous , young in color. " Help" was the beginning of a new HD or Stereo sound, they sounded awesome in 1965. Like the sound of " I feel fine" it was new and modern at the time..very hip.
