This is presented here purely for historical interest, there is no servicing information in this video at all, so if you are resurrecting one to working order, please look elsewhere for advice.
The tape quality throughout is poor as the iron oxide was shedding off the tape. The quality is especially poor in the first 30 seconds as no matter how many times I cleaned the tape path in my venerable Sanyo VTC5000 (which has much more reliable electronics and video heads than a Sony SL-C7!), one patch of tape near the start of the content we're interested in just kept on clogging the video heads, so I let it sort itself out.
Speaking of poor quality, don't you just love that CSO/chromakey/blue screen in the video? It's just *awful*, it's so bad even 1970s Doctor Who would blush! The "walking" at 10:53 is especially "convincing"!
And I adore the sly dig at JVC's VHS format at 9:05!
I've decided to publish this without a scheduled slot, just at random as soon as I found it, because while it's of interest to this channel and some of its subscribers, it's not a broadcast TV programme or continuity surrounding a programme.
My childhood.. Right there.
I used to watch this tape endless times when I was a kid because it came with the VCR. I remember every second of it Thanks for the upload. I've been looking for this video for a while.
Amazing.... Same here
Same same..
Unforgettable years ..!
Great to see, as Sony technician started in 1983 i repaired all Betamax from SL8000/8080 to SL-HF950ES (all AEP/Europe models). All based on PAL color system. Great to see the SL-C7e. First problems where all keys on top. Poor quality. Than Upperdrum and videohead. Cassettechanger AG-7 was unique. I see also the HVC-3000 camera and the SL-3000 portable recorder. May have another modelnumber outside Europe (NTSC/SECAM color systems) Good old times.
Watched it 100 times when I was a kid.😍😍
Antique machine from when I was child.
UA-cam of my childhood
Hello dear ,
This is a very memorable movie for me . I had SL-T7ME .
Thank you so much.
Omg 😳 thanks 🙏 for this amazing video
I love that groovy incidental music...
Wasn't the C7 also first with index marking? You know, making it easier to find the start of any recording on the tape?
Watching this clip with a PlayStation 5 aside.
Remember me my first video experience :))
Thank you for the upload, cann you tell us the names of all animes?
I don’t watch anime cartoons. 🤨
LOL 12:05 *bad* acting!
10:53 they should have continued with it - almost all Sony products from the nineties are dead because of dead capacitors that have been soldered to hot at a contractor
Maybe you can send it out for tape restoration.
Not worth the cost. I can’t afford such services anyway.
