Wood & Graphite Another great, inspirational video... The only thing is, "nice" stationery sits on the shelf and doesn't get used... functional stationary-- I would even say "high touch" pads where you can see the pencil leave a nice broad mark across the coarse texture of the paper, THAT'S Functional Stationary getting used, and the notebooks get beat up and curled and bent and used... just what I like. Let them keep their "nice" stationery for that long letter that they're never going to finish writing with that fountain pen that's sitting on the shelf all clogged.
Also, I struggle to give people pencils. Since I'm in school, people always ask me for pencils. I always carry super cheap pencils for that reason, due to the great horrors people do to pencils. I also have a few Blackwings for my self, and let the occasional person use or have one.
Nice video, pencils and notebooks really are the gift that keeps on giving you don't realize how useful they are until you start carrying them everyday. I've been carrying a notebook for years and i dont leave the house without it.
I love the idea of giving friends pencils and notebooks so much! I've started giving pencils to a few friends and they always love it when I do. Definitely something I'm gonna keep doing. I kinda wish I had a friend like you to give me pencils/notebooks. Great video :)
I really appreciate your channel. I was trying to get into Fountain pens, which are very expensive. But years ago I got a blackwing 602 and loved it, and I have had some Tombow Mono's in my drawers that I sharpened up and love. My year old Rotring 600 still holds a big piece of my heart, but wood pencils are just so great. Next I will have to try a graphite holder. Thanks again!
OMG! I just found your channel. This is gold. I 💜 how organized you are and how passionate you are about your supplies. And what a nice gesture to give the gift of pencils. 🎁 ✏️
What an amazing channel! When searching I was thinking, I wonder if there's a channel that just reviews and displays pencils and boom! Watched a few videos already and I'm hooked. Hi. I'm your newly minted subscriber! ...might run off and make a video of my treasured few mechanical pencils! :)
I had never heard of Generals Pencils before this video, looked em up and the factory where they make the pencils is in my home state of New Jersey. Now Im gonna have to order some of those cedar points :)
As an American pencil enthusiast, it's not so much that Dixon Ticonderogas are boring (although my favorite Dixon pencil is the Oriole) as much as it's really hard to find non-super-fancy alternatives in most brick-and-mortars. I can get Generals over the internet. One can find store-brand pencils in most office supply places, but besides that it's mostly Dixon Ticonderogas--unless you're in an art supply shop buying drawing pencils. Even the pencils of my youth are hard to come by, if not extinct, lol.
this is so true! I'm just now discovering that there are other American pencil manufacturers! I'm so glad I found out because now I'm gonna treat myself to trying as many as I can :)
I really appreciate the time and effort you took to make this video to show me all the differences in pencils. I have always use pencils To write and draw. I have always been comfortable using a pencil then a pen. Thank you very much. Derrick P a Writer ✍️
If I had to give someone a pencil as a token of gratitude, I woul'd give them KOHI-NOOR Versatile 5228. It's probably the greatist pencil for everyday carry, especially for creative people. Great for both writing and sketching, small, durable, with clip and integrated sharpener. What else do you need, right?
In regards to the copier/aniline dye pencils, as long as the y don't lick them, they should be okay. Sharpen them into wet paper towel and throw it away. The dyes in the No-Blots was changed if it says "Sanford" on it and is no longer harmful.
Lovely video there are very few people that appreciate analog. I also like how you respond a lot to the comments do you ever remember people that comment on every video???
As pencils for writing goes I am boring I like my paper mate classic #2 HB and black wings. For work and marking my cuts on aluminum it was the paper mate mirado classic #4 2H ( now discontinued) and I have yet to find a suitable replacement and am using some of my staedler art pencils. As far as the dixon ticonderoga goes I have found that the graphitte core is off centre giving me a nice sharp wood tip " best pencil in the world " my ass. Keep up the good work I love nerding out on the seemingly simple things in life.
Hi! I am thinking about purchasing a pack of blacking pencils but my I can only get 1 pack. I'm not sure which to get. Im leaning towards the 602 but im not sure. I'm not an artist but i love writing with pencils. Any suggestions?
I'm a non-artist who writes with pencils all the time, and the Pearl is my absolute favorite. It's not too dark and smudgy, but still super dark and long lasting.
I'd send you some of the Generals Ceder Point pencils, but I've never seen them. It may be odd, but I'm an American who has never seen any generals pencils.
I guess I should introduce myself... I'm actually a bookbinder in my private life, haha. And I'm currently working on a few custom, field notes style, notebooks. Maybe we could do a trade down the line or I could just post you some out right, tbh! :) Again, great channel. I'm really enjoying it!
+SYLBUSHCRAFT ___ Take a look at the list here, some of these stores might sell singles. Some in Chicago and wider IL state. palominobrands.com/shop-blackwing/ If still stuck send me an email, I know a lot of folks and can try find someone local to trade you one. Postage alone from Ireland would triple the cost. Woodandgraphite@Gmail.Com
I've got a question. Is there a youtuber that does paper? and I'm not trying to sound mean or anything I'm just asking because I didn't even know that you existed until I came across it.
There are plenty of folks who review and talk about fountain pens (Goulet Pens, Pen Addict) they tend to be very paper centric, as pens are a bit more temperamental. Pencils will write on almost anything (: Thanks for the great question!
Man, you are like my brother from another mother. Except for the Ticonderoga thing - MADE IN CHINA DUDE! No way!!! Junk graphite. Anything but cheap Chinese pencils! General Pencil of New Jersey, MUSGRAVE PENCIL of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Faber, Uni-Mitsubishi, these are good pencils. But not Ticonderoga! Nnnnooooooo!
"It's not nice to kill your friends."
You should write greeting cards. That's some great advice to live by lol.
+jdthewasian I'm a poet and a scholar
I love stationery, pencils, paper, pens - this is an awesome gift - great ideas
Ugh I love this! I would love to get a gift like this. Such a lovely idea.

Couldn’t agree more! Use ‘em & share ‘em!
I love giving stationery! I gave out CW black and white bugles and USA Golds to stationery fans I met in Belfast :)

How many pencils do you want to give
W&G :Hell yes !
How many pocket notebooks ?
W&G: yeah!
And the bands ?
"He deserves a double band"
Glad to see you active again. I really love your videos and looking forward to buy my first Blackwings soon
Thanks for your great efforts

"This pencil might kill you."
Whoa. Wooden pencils are more metal than I ever imagined.
I gave my mother out -law an art kit, with a bunch of pencils, including 4 diff. Blackwings ---- love me some Blackwings! I hope she is using them.
Dixon has stepped up their quality starting circa 2017.

+Errol Piper Man I love those mech Pencils. I need to go back to the Czech Republic, I miss the food, the history and KIN pencils!
Looks great! I would be very happy to receive that package!

+Ana Reinert This is super helpful, thanks!
The Chinese dixon tics are the best, always get them from stores if you can because other websites carry old stock which are made of basswood.
as a kid in elementary, Ticonderoga were like the Rolls Royce's of pencils. then again all I was bought was dollar store pencils..
Wow! You can fix me a gift packet anytime.
-pencils
-notebooks
-blackwings
"pencils" and "blackwings" are really different things... LOL

Hello, can you do a review of the baron fig Archer they look stellar!
+Derek smith I'll do my very best
I love the one with the red and blue...
Lovely video there are very few people that appreciate analog. I also like how you respond a lot to the comments do you ever remember people that comment on every video???
+Liam Klukas Thank you so much Liam. I try and reply to as many as possible, I don't remember everyone but I try!
Wood & Graphite No problem!!!
Something like this would make for a cool fan giveaway if you ever get any contest ideas in the future.
+Kinchloe I have a whole tub of items for future giveaways! Don't have the funds to send a bunch of stuff out yet, but I'm planning for the future (:
Are there any Ireland made pencils that can be bought somewhere?

What kind of elastics did you use?
+shoppernt08 Black hair band ties, best thing for securing cables and pencils!

thanks for the replies. Maybe ill try to get to packs or even 3 so i can try all of them.
How do I find good quality pencils in generic shops.
Are generic stationary shops good.
+Ed 180 Depends! Store brand pencils are normally hit and miss, better to go for a reputable brand. Where in the world are you based?
I live in England. Any ideas?
Wood & Graphite I have recently picked up a Faber Castell TK-FINE 9717 0.7 mm lead propelling pencil.
+Ed 180 WHSmith or Paperchase (:
Wood & Graphite sorry I've seen your reply late. Thank you very much for that advice.
Just curious.....which are the dangerous ones? And why? Btw....just discovered black wing.
what do you think about mechanical pencils? also i like ya channel and how you make your vids keep up ze good wor!
I'd send you some of the Generals Ceder Point pencils, but I've never seen them. It may be odd, but I'm an American who has never seen any generals pencils.
+TelxGaming Huh, that is odd. I reckon you can find them in art stores maybe?
Wood & Graphite yeah. I should probably take a look soon!
I've never seen them in stores either :/
+The Brave Studyblr Maybe it's a midwest-southern thing?
in texas, they are in all art stores.
I guess I should introduce myself... I'm actually a bookbinder in my private life, haha. And I'm currently working on a few custom, field notes style, notebooks. Maybe we could do a trade down the line or I could just post you some out right, tbh! :)

+Noah de Castro Hey Noah, I don't yet, still working on it. I'll make it widely known to folks if I get one!
@Wood & Graphite so I really want a blackwing 602 but I can't afford to get a pack of them. Would there be any way I could buy 1 602 from you?
+SYLBUSHCRAFT ___ Might not be practical to buy from me, where are you based?
Wood & Graphite Illinois in America.

So sad that I found another good channel that is basically dead now, I wish I had a Faber Castell Grip pencil VERY nice pencil

Is it bad that I only want to meet you for the pencils? Lol...
American here. I don't care if you can get a pack of Ticonderoga blacks for $5 at any Wal-Mart, I still like them
this man uses pencils as currency
pls gift me one day haha, really nice collection tho.
*Laughs in Mechanical Pencil*
😄✏️
I want to find an old deadly pencil. But I am weird like that.
Get you someone who talks about you the way this guy talks about pencils.
.
Wait. How about Asian (esp. Japanese) pencils? Why not give some of the best in the world?
Are you serious when you say your pencils ‘could kill someone’ or were you talking tongue in cheek?
If you put this pencil near your tongue or cheek, it could poison you..
Please give me some......
