Vlad Voivode never lived in Bran it was never his castle. It is pushed to get tourists there regarding the movie vampire. There is no proof he even stayed there. His one true fortress was Poenari. Also Vlad ruled the lands mainly of Walachia. I have relatives that still live in those lands.

Your Contant keeps getting better and better. That was one of the most grand castles I have ever seen. The stone landscaping was superb.
I have always wanted to go to Romania. Specifically, Transylvania. I have seen photos from the air, and it looks stunning. Lots of spooky history too.
King Charles owns several houses in Transylvania and the surrounding area. Some say he is a descendant of Vlad Tepes (Dracule) through Queen Mary. Anyway, he was just there last summer as I recall. I think he's trying to help the local economy too.

I have seen videos of Bran Castle on a couple of other channels that I follow but one literally ran through it and I got vertigo from trying to watch it and did not really see anything except white walls. Poenari Castle was the real home of Vlad Dracul he stayed there around 1457 and had his enslaved enemies holed up in the dungeon of the castle , I do not think Dracul ever stayed at Bran Csstle as from what i have researched the castle was owned by German Communities based in Romania at the time and Vlad was imprisoned by the Ottomans during the era so never set foot in that castle , it is beautiful though but thought id fill in the historical gaps .
That’s true. I recently learned about this while reading for a video I plan to do on vlad, on my paranormal channel.
Stoker depicted the imaginary Dracula’s castle based upon a description of Bran Castle that was available to him at the time.
Bran Castle was an inspiration.

Poenari on the Arges River was a fortress castle he had built. His capital and more formal residence was at Targoviste.
So the castle/fortress was lovely but it's weird to me that it turns into a spook house dark ride.
That was...unexpected!

She was there for three nights. :)
Bram was very sick when he was younger due to rickets he never learned to walk until he was 12 years old so he spent a lot of time writing in his bedroom

Inspiration yes for the book by Bram Stoker, tourist Dracula Castle Bran is but not the real castle. The real one is Poe Inari Citadel which is being rebuilt because it is now in ruins, I was there in the late 70's. Don't know where you got the term Drac, as Vlad the 3rd's father was known as Dracul, Vlad Tepe's, which means Impaler was the son of Dracul thus his title was Dracula. Nothing worse than teaching incorrect history, do some research first.
