😭She's over exaggerating everything.
Load shedding is a culture shock to us South Africans
The reason why there are no electric outlets and the light switch is outside is for safety reasons. Electricity and water don't go well together as people can get electrocuted while locked in the bathroom. For hair etc. they tend to have what they call a 'dressing table' (vanity set) in the bedroom where you have a seat and mirror to beautify yourself.
Our slang is influenced by all languages. It's not unusual to find people speaking three languages in one sentence too😏 We're awesome like that!😂
If the power socket n light switch are in the bathroom then the house will not meet municipal standards....🤷🏾♂️. It's an electrical hazard.
Imagine your card being taken away at a restaurant, where’s the privacy?😂😭😭I’m so proud to be South African🥹
As a South African I can tell you that we don't really use "right now". If we say now, we usually mean in a few minutes. Just now is less than now now. Just now is like "okay I'll wash the dishes after I finish this glass of water or this conversation" so anywhere from 10mins to maybe half an hour and now now is like, "nah I'll do it after this movie" so maybe in like 30mins to 2hours. There isn't really a set time, it is measured by whatever we feel like it means 😂
Everything is exaggerated here no ways even myself as a South african I'm surprised no ways !!😂😂🤣
Lol I lived in South Africa my whole life... Never seen any of the big 5.... The fencing are for security purposes and kinda just to divide up the land
south Africa is amazing....she just doesn't like it there....Lot's of love from Kenya😄
"No electricity = no running water" means that our 'sister-friend' lives in a property where tap water pressure has to be augmented by an electric water pump! Plain and simple 🤷♀ It's not common in the urban areas, but we have the same in my rural homestead: the reticulation tanks' water (popularly known as 'Jojo tanks') supply has to be pumped into the house's water pipes. Providing context is important 😏
She seems to live in a remote area.
Most South Africans speak 2 or more languages. I can hv 4 languages in 1 sentence.🤣🤣🤣It's jst hw we're brought up in diverse cultures/languages. No 1 finds it weird.
Getting electric cords, plugs or light switches in the bathroom is a safety hazard, DON'T DO IT !!!
Theatre is the operating room, not the surgery. A surgery is a surgery or an operation. Then there is theatre where you go watch plays and musicals etc.
Girl so extra🤣, most of the things she is sharing also depends on the area
Ireland, the UK, SA and some other countries do not have electric sockets/outlets in the bathrooms for safety reasons/wet surface. You may find in some houses only a shaving outlet/socket which has lower voltage 110V/120V in the bathroom.
Car guards are not official.
An Operating Theater (also known as an operating room (OR), operating suite, or operation suite) is a facility within a hospital where surgical operations are carried out in an aseptic environment. Knowledge is power.
If you think SA roads have potholes…you really ain’t seen nothing yet. In Zim, we have a saying “if you are driving straight, you must be drunk” 😩 😅
