    the strangest temple ever. open roof but no more than a corridor inside. very archaic colossus who played the rôle of columns.

      You've got a point BUT, those colossi were considered to be a wonder of the ancient world!

      It's a false peristhasis, the cella is only a part of the whole interior and it's not a 'corridor'. The size of the plant was similar to St Peter's basilica without the smaller chapels. The open roof was a common design for temples of this size such as the Artemision of Ephesos, the Olympieion of Selinus, and other colossal structures taller than 25m. Other elements that appear more exotic such as the base decorations are interpretable as local/indigenous innovative design.
