Interesting theories! Just a note, the Maelstrom is one of the planes. It was the previously CN plane that's full of chaos and home of proteans. I believe that you might be thinking of the Eye of Abendego.
Just a random note, James Jacobs asked in the Paizo forms to refrain from using the term "splatbook" as it gives a negative connotation to the work that the writers create, and would prefer either "lorebook", "expansion", or just simply "book".
I could see them being of three minds on this: 1) they explicitly go for a popular god (Sarenrae or Asmodeus for example) to shake things up 2) they go for an unpopular god to not offend fans of a ‘better’ god or 3) they pick a middling favorite god so it’s not anyone’s favorite or worst decision. If they could poll people’s reactions to this god death my gut tells me they’d rather pick one that gets people rating the death as 6 or 7s across the board rather than one half the people rate 1 and the other half rate 10. If the broad strokes reactions are going to be “oh no!” “Oh yes!” “Oh, ok” I’m anticipating the last option being the community’s reaction. Here’s hoping I’m wrong
Calistria would not be a good Godess of Revenge if she stil had open targets for her revenge. Nobody alive has ever wronged her and they can only be two reasons why.
They are not removing it from the game at all, rather they are not going to emphasize it. Slavery has been a major Evil in the history of the genre for decades now, Paizo wants to focus on other evils for the hero's to defeat. It still exists cannon in universe and you can still make it the focal point of your games at home, but the writers of the APs have decided to look elsewhere.

Tell us your guess on who will die in war of immortals?!?

You are right, I was absolutely thinking about the EoA! Thanks for the correction!

Gotcha. Thanks for the update!
I would love a follow up lore video to this.
I would love to see Gorum receive character development similar to the idea of the greek god Aries becoming the Roman god Mars

I mean... But what IF?!
Why is it a good thing to remove a universal evil like slavery from the game? And more importantly, WHY ARE THEY DOING IT?
