Your tutorial is great... Too bad they changed the user interface in the software... makes it harder for the new people. Thanks so much! The first tutorial on glass made it seam like the s1 could not do this, so thanks for shooting the video after you knew what you were doing, sooooo much more useful!
I noticed that when I have to readjust to get the right framing that I don't have to unchuck the glass. I just rotate the chuck with the glass in it and that works for me. Just something that may save you some time. Thanks for the video!
Great video. Also that dragon engraving looks amazing! I have the 40w S1 and I have not gotten anything near that quality. I have heard the 20w is more suited for engraving.
would reducing the power by a 1/2 make it equivalent to a 20 Watt unit? EG if the power setting is 100 for the 20 watt unit, then set 40 Watt unit to 50.. Just asking, I know nothing about laser engraving.
No unfortunately no matter what you do, the 20w diodes are going to give a much higher resolution than the 40w. The 20w has a smaller focal point. Basically think of it as the difference between drawing a picture with a thick sharpie and a ball point pen. You can try cranking your LPI all the way up and get a tiny bit more detail, but like I said unfortunately there’s no comparison when it comes to detail between the 20w and 40w even then.
@@colonelfustercluck486 I have a battery powered airbrush and that did seem to do well appling it evenly. I do see some people use chalk spray paint and thats been on my list to try out.
If i understood you correctly it is possible to removed the Base Plate when using the Rotary. What Happens If you simply remove the Base Plate without the Rotary being connected? I am asking because i removed the Base Plate to Position the laser Higher in Order to place a large Box inside the laser, wich does not fit through the top opening. However, as soon as the Base Plate ist Missing, i recived an der Error Message instructing me to ckeck whether the Base Plate ist properly mounted. This prevnts the laser from operating without the Base Plate
@@DonPoppi7 I am not sure because I only remove the base plate if I am using the rotary. All other projects I have the base plate with honeycomb on top of it.
As a new laser owner, I found your tutorial immensely helpful - many thanks!
“Stay blessed.” Perfect sign-off to a very nice, useful video. Keep blessing us with this type of video, and that is how we stay blessed.😊
Nice work 👏🏿
Very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much!

Thank you for the feedback. I will look into making a tutorial using the updated xcs.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely try that out. I actually need to make a bulk order so will be doing a video on this soon.
Great tutorial
Thank you!
It worked thanks a lot. Your video was very helpful.
Glad my video was helpful for you.

Cool great job on them. I feel like the the differences/spots missed on number of passes could come down to how well/evenly you applied the masking.
Definitely!
can you use spray paint or airbrush for more consistent application of paint?

How did you manage to remove the base plate without the laser displaying an error message indicating that the base plate is not probertly mounted ?
I just remove it when I use the rotary. Never had an issue. So not sure what you mean.

What paint are u using for the glass
Black matte acrylic paint
You dont need glasses with the S1. Its fully enclose. However I noticed you removed the bottom.
It’s your choice to wear protection for your eyes or not.
12:50 you made a mistake, as soon as you opened the chuck and repositioned the glass, it was no longer level. You should of re-leveled it.
Always check your leveling of course. This was a practice glass so I wasn’t really worried about perfection. But great tip! Thanks for watching!
I tried these settings today and let's say, it was fire.
Three passes too much and power. Almost could fire.
My house almost caught on fire.
Not the other fire
The only thing I did different was I airbrushed the paint. But great video
I ended up doing the airbrush as well to make the final order and it was so much faster and had no issues.
@@liciatoday Oh That is good, it makes for a much smoother image as well.
Can just rotate the whole chuck and re frame till your desired area is what you need
You sure can.
