The first BBC shows I remember watching were actually on PBS. They were "Keeping Up Appearances" and "Are You Being Served?" I miss good British writing.
Same haven't thought of them in years. My parents loved them, but hated them when I was little because of the ridiculousness. Fortunately bomb squad, Doctor who, and some detective show saved my opinion of British TV.
I will still re watch Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. Even the successor Thick of It which pales in comparison would not be able to be made today.
Keeping Up Appearances and After You’ve Gone would come on late on Saturday nights in the States on public access when I was a teen, used to love then

2:34:52 "Nothing better than American comics". Totally agree. I first met American comics via a UK reprint series called the Power Comics, specifically Terrific #16. It had three series in it: the Sub-Mariner, the Avengers, and Dr Strange. All written by Stan Lee, and drawn by Jack Kirby, Don Heck, and Steve Ditko respectively. What better introduction could any 7 year old have than that? Loved comics ever since, even if these days I only seem to read the old ones.
Trivia: More than a few Twilight Zone episodes were adapted from radio plays. "The Hitchhiker" is an almost straight rip from a play done by Orson Wells. They changed the protagonist to a woman to increase the level of vulnerability. "An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge" was originally a pulp by Ambrose Bierce, was done as a radio play by CBS Radio Theater. And Escape. Then done again in The Twilight Zone.
This show has to have the most badass intro I've ever seen. I tip my hat to you, gentlemen.

Something I loved seeing was The Chat talking old shows, so many I had forgotten about. So putting my 2 bobs in, Exo-Squad, it is a cartoon and sadly got axed way to soon. But it was incredibly mature for a "kids" show.

Yall remember when the Real BBC wasnt structured to a formulaic 3 hours and went on longer from that because the conversations were more authentic and had a better flow to them that made rbe episodes longer?

The irony of Games of thrones being the most pirated is that it was a service issues.. HBO wasn't available everywhere in the world, some people had no alternative to pirate it as there was no legal way to get it.
Same thing that will happen with games that need a PSN account on PC when it's not possible to buy the games in 73 countries out of 191, so only solution is pirating.

The western Sin City by Miller has been known for some time now. There is at least one image of an Indian head in profile that looks similar to Marv. Of course people flipped out about the look of the war paint and jewelry. I remember finding images of actual tribes that looked very similar, not that it needs to be accurate to life. What I've seen from his Ronin sequel still looks pretty insane and rambling, unfortunately.

I'll be glad to see the ratings on Nurse What drop enough that they're clearly worse than Sylvester McCoy's ratings. The latter part of his run was some of the best Who ever in spite of the ratings, whereas Nurse What doesn't deserve to even dream of ratings this high. Battlefield was a great story, the likes of which Doctor Who hasn't had for years now. :(
