Being same age as the band from the UK nobody captured my youth like them(these early albums/singles). Very literal in their lyrics....The drinking culture, getting with girls/women you shouldnt and the awkward morning after the 1 night stand.
"Leave before the lights come on" is a reference to leaving a club before it closes (and they turn the lights on to get you to leave) before you see each other in the harsh, bright light and change your mind on going home together.. The whole song is a mini-story of meeting someone in the club, chatting them up, going home with them, the morning after, and then walking them to the bus stop so they can get home.
Don’t know how you feel about music videos, Greg. The one for this song is amazing, even if it tells a totally separate intense story not really related to these lyrics.
And to think they were just kids, barely 20 years old when they wrote this...
Incredibly talented.
Not many people react to this one, they’re missing out it’s perfection.❤
The black sheep between those two great first albums. Biblical track.
Highly recommend the track 'who the f*ck are the Arctic Monkeys' one of their first songs, verses are very similar to this and the ending is amazing
I love it when you get all giddy over a song 😂 glad you enjoyed it, it certainly is a banger 💥
Great choice, WB!!
One of my favorites Arctic Monkeys songs. Great reaction

Cool tune, 2 from the Arctic Monkeys on the same day, good times, cheers!
Christmas came early!

This was Arctic Monkeys first single to not be a number 1 hit, just shows how high they set the standard from the off go 😂

The official video for “View from the Afternoon” is another favorite of mine.
Agree completely, but I think the video might take away from the song on first listen
OMG!!! Your react gives me goosebumps.. you really feel the song !!
