Love the stamp, one can feel the wildness of the Gaucho in it. Thanks Lisa. I know next to nothing about the history of South America and this was very interesting.
You are very welcome, thanks for watching! I didn't (and still don't) know much about the history of South America either. There is a lot more going on than what I talked about -I only just scratching the surface - but it was definitely fun to learn about!
Thanks so much! It's fun sometimes to learn about the common stamps that are present in a lot of world wide collections. Makes you more happy with what you already have!
Thanks for watching, Graham! A "short and sweet" episode, I knew the other UA-camrs would be able to identify with getting trapped in the Research and Planning phase 😅.
Hi Lisa. I received last week the postcards. They are so lovely and I love them. Indeed my whole neighborhood signed up for the raffle 😊 Thank you so much.
Another outstanding video! Uruguay also has an excellent philatelic postal site where you can get beautiful new issues from the last few years. My favorite is the wildlife conservation sheet with a Capybara among other iconic Uruguayan animals.
I did a search and I think I see the sheet you mean- all of the animals surrounding a wetland area - so beautiful! Uruguay is a philatelic area that I haven't looked at too closely until now. They have some beautiful stamps especially their flora and fauna. Thanks for watching!
Great video about a country not often mentioned. I remember in the 60's the Gaucho look in women's clothing was popular. My favorite stamps from Uruguay are the Airmail stamps with Pegasus on them. There are about 60 of them in different colors and they look very nice all together on an album or stockbook page.
Thank you Lisa, I see you now also started a collection of horses facing left 🙊 I enjoyed this video very much, I was familiar with the subject but do see how you prepared for this and made an intensive study. There is nothing wrong with finishing an episode and still purchase more material and learn. Gives you the opportunity to make a part 2 video🤓 Not sure if you do requests, but let me suggest you deep dive into the smalles south american country, Suriname. You will learn there is a lot of history in this country, Dutch colonialism, lands swap with the USA and our black history, slave trade. (Black in the sense of being ashamed of that history) I think you will enjoy looking into this country. Keep bringing out those nice video’s ❤
Thanks for watching, Erik and for the suggestion! South America is filled with a lot of history that is new to me. It's interesting to see the 'parallels' with different colonizers (Spanish vs. English) and see the differences and similarities of how our cultures and nations turned out. If I get a chance, I will investigate Suriname!
Hello guapa, very good video, greetings from Montevideo 🇺🇾. Thank you for your very interesting video. You have explained it better than many teachers in schools.👌👍👍👍
Aw you're too kind! I tried my best, but I know I had to skip over a lot of details! Thanks for watching I'm surprised someone form Montevideo would come across my video! Regards from Canada 🇨🇦
A beautiful episode that I learnt pretty much from. With the FIFA Women's World Cup not too far away, I just want to add that Uruguay won the very first edition of the FIFA Men's World Cup that they hosted back in 1930 defeating Argentina in the final. Four editions later, in 1950, they won the coveted title again this time defeating Brazil in the final.
Thanks for the info, Basil! Wow - I did come across the fact that they hosted the first ever world cup in 1930 but I didn't know they had won and against Argentina at that! And then Brazil later... always nice to cheer for the smaller underdog!
@@StampCatStamps by the way, I have two of these stamps of different face values :) And today is Uruguay's Constitution Day while August 25 is their Independence Day
Nice one ❤. Tanks again to teach me cultural thinks. Always a pleasure to follow you. Good day to you and you family.
Thank you Yves! And good day to you and your family too :)

Always liked that stamp; I looked at it, then moved on. I collected for decades before I became "curious." Well presented.

I enjoyed learning the culture too. Thank you, Lisa.
Thanks for watching, Richard!
Lovely Stamp! And Lovely video 😊. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and yes I imagine the research dilemma happens to all of us, LOL, Thanks Lisa!

I searched that stamp- I hadn't seen it before, that is gorgeous! I'll have to keep an eye out for one (or many). Thanks for watching!

Fascinating video Lisa! I remember this stamp from my little boy stamp collecting days.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I think it's a popular one in world wide collections... But it caught my eye anyway!

Hey. Clearly a lot of work went into this one. Love your style of presenting/delivery and editing. You deserve more views!
Aww thanks so much for your kind comments!
I'm sure most of us have the same problem of seeing a nice stamp then buying more and more and more to add to it. It's a nice problem to have though 😊
I agree, more stamps = more interests = more stamps haha! It's a never ending cycle but a fun one!
Make a video on old country which does not exist any more like USSR and don't forget to make a Indian stamp video
Both great suggestions - thank you!
