Dave's voice sounds as good if not better than ever here and Rod's playing is more...on. Great. In the 70's live he was too much at times. Here he is great. Just right.
Holy crap! Rocked the he'll out of that blues classic! Lonesome Dave is awesome as usual! And the other gentleman on slide is so badass!! Foghat forever!
rod's les paul jr. just screamed, what a slide player he was, loved foghat, their bluesy rock, slide guitar, dave's incredible vocals, tony stevens on bass and roger earl on drums were as solid as it gets. dave and rod left us way too early.
37,000 views a sin....Poor souls out there missing some of the best rock and roll on the planet. These boys left it all out on the stage...Miss you Rod and Lonesome Dave...Rock on!!!!
Rod Price is among the great rocking slide players, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, Lowell George etc. Each one had their own distinct style, Rod's had that very big vibratto on the held notes, in the style of many of the original Mississippi delta blues men. I think most people would recognize his unique sound, even if it were with another band. Peverett and Price go together like peas and carrots or thinking back, like a few beers and a joint.
"lists" like the perfect girl, perfect car..hall of fames..drummers.. guitarists ? what ever.Who is it ever according to ? The only thing I ever get from "lists" are..nothing.
When Rod passed away there was a list over two pages long of people and albums he had played for and on that didn't include Foghat....awesome player !! I wish I had even half of his talent !!
thats true, Rod sat in on many sessions for many people, disted that these guys arnt in Rock hall of fame. These dudes left all they had on the stage, the tightest live act ever in my opinion. Dave, Rod, Roger and Tony what memories! RIP bros.
I saw them play in a club in Charlottesville back in the 90's they put on quite a performance, I also saw them play at Nassau coliseum in the 80's but they really kicked ass in Charlottesville, I don't know if it was because it was a small club or what but they were awesome!
i couldnt tell u how many times i seen these dudes fuckn jamm, but i will say this they never put on a bad show and usually smoked the band they were opening for at the end of their kickass run''. and i will say this as a blues slide guitarist he smoked clapton. and with blues playing''. yeah im from cleveland, ohio'', this was in dayton i think''?
I can't Believe Foghat was never Inducted into The Rock and Roll of Fame Notorious b.i.g is in who is not rock is in But Foghat who is boogie great rock n roll is not in Let that sink in.
I live St Louis and there is a little radio station called KSHE 95. Most do not know that KSHE was instrumental in the making of so many bans. The first super jam was held at Busch Stadium. Foghat, REO Speed wagon, Styx, Nugent and the list to many to mention . But to really make it big you had to have radio air play, and you needed KSHE. I have seen Foghat a dozen times, one show the line up would be Foghat, Aerosmith, Nugent, Montrose...then it would Foghat, REO, Styx, Black Sabbath. Even though I partied with the best of them, I still remember it all..........ah the seventies

Always thought that this was the best version of this song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Dave and Rod. Thank You for some of the best times of my life.
Dave was well into his fifties here, and just belting it out like no one else can do at any age!
Rod Price, a wonderful Slide Gitar Player. I am fascinated. RIP Rod
Holy crap! Rocked the he'll out of that blues classic! Lonesome Dave is awesome as usual! And the other gentleman on slide is so badass!! Foghat forever!
Best rock band ever- the original four members of Foghat could rock like nobody's business.
rod's les paul jr. just screamed, what a slide player he was, loved foghat, their bluesy rock, slide guitar, dave's incredible vocals, tony stevens on bass and roger earl on drums were as solid as it gets. dave and rod left us way too early.
So early! Big loss!

Couldn't put it better myself
Clapton's version is crap compared
With these guys
Rod Price is grossly underrated, truly a fantastic slide guitarist !
@@rodrossi9749 Rod "the bottle" Price is the best slide player ever !
Johnny Winter's Highway 61 on Captured Live is gold standard, Rod Price is up there with that. Sonny Landreth is today's best slide merchant imho.
SUCH A GREAT LEGENDARY BAND !!!!!
Don't get much better than Lonesome Dave and Rod The Bottle
Dave and Rod were the best, they were a great team and are deeply missed.
I'm always surprised how little love Price gets in those "greatest slide guitarist" lists. I always thought he was one of the best.
it only sounds perfect.....because it is.
"lists" like the perfect girl, perfect car..hall of fames..drummers.. guitarists ? what ever.Who is it ever according to ? The only thing I ever get from "lists" are..nothing.
rod, is the master of the slide, not George
hs
Johnny is
Best blues & boogie rock band ever!!!
My favourite band, ever!
I believe this concert is the best of Foghat ever!
Foghat, ein auserordentliches Erlebnis.
Damn those guys were good
I saw these guys(minus Rod) in a roller rink in Massapequa L.I. in the 80's.
Unsung heroes....fantastic....ripping guitars....bluesy voice..got it all....70's dorm-room favorites
Far better live than in studio, this is an excellent version of "Sweet Home Chicago", saw them once in Indy, great show!!!
When Rod passed away there was a list over two pages long of people and albums he had played for and on that didn't include Foghat....awesome player !! I wish I had even half of his talent !!

That slide is lightning.
Rod Price has got to be one of the greatest slide guitar of all time. but gets little recognition
Rod spanked that guitar till it cried. And Lonesome Dave? Well Dave ain't half bad on the guitar either.
Your right about that
Lonesome Dave could play slide too, I've seen them do a slide duet at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
Holy shit that was freaking amazing... Foghat was such a great band
this is how Sweet Home Chicago was meant to be played
So true....I wholeheartedly agree with you!!!
I saw them play in a club in Charlottesville back in the 90's they put on quite a performance, I also saw them play at Nassau coliseum in the 80's but they really kicked ass in Charlottesville, I don't know if it was because it was a small club or what but they were awesome!
One of the best bands ever right here !

Very very great bottleneck guitar lead in this super rock tune. THESE GUYS ROCK and there's no better classic R&B rock ever been done. :) Dave
They don't make bands like this anymore. :-(

6:21 "If I could move my hand like Rod I would never have to leave the house"
Wait, I have been in lockdown for almost 2 months and have not! LOL :O)

I have this on vid...it is called Two Centuries of Boogie released in 2001 - and its a damn fine show all the way through
I used to have it. Loved it. And Angel of Mercy dedication to Dave at the end.
I am from Detroit and shit...I still like Chicago
I was s fan of 3 of these guys when they formed Foghat. When they were with Kim in Savoy Brown.
