हर Spinal Tumor cancerous नहीं होता है। Almost 90% tumors यह non-cancerous होते है। किस जगह से tumors form हो रहे है इस पर भी cancerous या non-cancerous depend करता है। Intramedullary और Intradural Extramedullary यह दो प्रकार के Tumors है।

Tumor का type जानने के लिए कभी-कभी surgery की जरुरत पड़ सकती है। अगर हमे लगता है की Tumor cancerous है तो उस वक़्त Biopsy Test करनी पड़ती है। Intradural Extramedullary Tumors अगर है तो surgery करके Cure किया जा सकता है।

Dr. Eshan Nerkar, Consultant Brain and Spine Surgeon received his MCh from Bangalore’s reputed M S Ramaiah Medical College. He had the good fortune to be trained by some of the best in the area of neurosurgery. He was exposed to a whole range of neurological and spinal illnesses during his studies. Later, he worked at Bangalore’s BRAINS Neuro Spine Center alongside Dr. N. K. Ventatramanna. He gained valuable experience in advanced MICRO-NEUROSURGERY and minimal access to spine surgery while he was there. He has conducted more than 1000 procedures relating to brain and spinal disorders in his career.
