My goodness. The twin otter sounds amazing on takeoff! The twin otter is probably one of the most badass utility aircraft to date, its been produced since the late 1950s and the newer Viking Air 400 series is keeping the plane’s heritage very strong!
one of my Dad's uncles used to be in the aerial spraying business, and he had two grass strip runways (one E/W, one N/S) at his farm near Winnipeg he used to fly from. He later had a personal plane just for fun. We were at his place once grabbing some stuff from his shop when we heard an aircraft VERY close by. We stepped out past the tree line and there was one of these RCAF Twin Otters circling around. They did 5 or 6 touch and go-s while we stood there and watched. I guess they saw the runway and decided to do some practice - maybe it was even a Cadets flight like you saw. When they were done, they made a very low pass without landing, and then did a nice graceful climb out and dipped the wings at us - and then they were gone.
NOAA flies one of their Twotters to KHYA once in awhile, while they conduct weather & marine observation sorties in the region. Always love seeing that beefy airplane around. It's bigger than it looks on video.
I work a lot in that next door, new, community. It’s ALWAYS windy there. You can’t really tell from the video as it looks pretty stable. (Both video and plane 😆)
Sad these planes are gone in the USA I’ve only seen them used for search and rescue by the coast guard such a beautiful plane I flew a passenger version of these in Saint Martin amazing power for such a small plane
They still use these old planes because they haven't been replaced by newer ones yet. New planes have been ordered. They're used for transporting people and for search and rescue. The plane is very good at flying slow, which makes them useful in the fjords of British Columbia in search and rescue missions.
I'm a simple man. I see Twin Otter, I like.

Had the immense pleasure of being one of the staff members who were able to hitch a ride on one of the circuits. Many thanks 440
Beautiful aircraft! I’ve joined the air cadets recently, and I’ve heard of this aircraft, but have never seen it.
Maybe you’ll get lucky cadet
Hey Alex, congrats on 80K Subscribers
Flat spotted the left tire a little bit. Nice video again, thank you.
Love the sound! Remember hearing these things spool up on cold nights back when CFB Edmonton (Namao) was an airbase
I just love the sound of aircraft propellers
It's my favourite aircraft for sound. Just something about it.
SUch a cool bird! Very nice Twotter footage!
Nice photography, Alex

A whole lot bigger on floats.
Your videos are always so interesting
that livery looks oddly like the turboprop flight simulator hc-400 alternative livery

Both my Dad and father in law worked on these with 440 when based in Alberta.
My favourite plane and only 1km from home. Sad I missed her

Did they do 2 hours of stop and gos at YBW as well?
Awesome video! I flew one!
Hi. Please tell me which camera do you use to shoot video?
Quick question why does this plane not have a C-ABCD registration like all canadian aircrafts ? Someone please explain to me. Thanks
Surely because it's military, not civilian.
How do you record the atc audio?
well that was sweet
Why are they use still cc- 138? Which are they use them
