I've been binge watching grafting videos for days and this channel has always given the best detailed explanations. Thanksssssssssssss
You're welcome, Hugo. I'm glad you find my videos useful. Thanks for the comment.
I've watched most of your fruit grafting videos, I grew 5 apple trees from seed about 8ish years ago the apples ranged from just plain bad to look great but taste mealy.. I was just going to chop them down and buy some nursery ones when I stumbled on your videos.. So this spring I cut one of the trees down leaving about 2ft of stump got some scions from a friends tree (which is very tasty) and applied the lessons I learned watching your videos and it worked just this week the scions started budding out so thank you.. I cant wait till next spring so I can do the other 4 trees...
You're welcome, Danni. Its wonderful to be able to use the established root system of those seedling to grow good eating varieties. Good luck with your trees!
@@JSacadura Thank you, when I grew the trees I had no idea it was a lottery and assumed you plant a seed from a tasty apple you get a tree with tasty apples.. But it all worked out as I got 5 strong trees with established root systems I can now graft a variety of tasty apple varieties onto.. I'll be looking after my newly budded scions like they're babies till they're fully established..
Leave a few limbs of your original trees, maybe they will produce better with a different cross pollinator.
@@ayatti26 I will do that with the next 4 to be honest with the first tree I honestly didn't think it would work as I'm known as black thumb to my friends as every plant I touch dies shortly after I touch them lol, but pollination shouldn't be a problem both my neighbors have lots of apple trees... Unfortunately we don't get on but the bees don't care...
Good to see it worked for you. I too am growing from seeds with plants on grafting and seeing what fruit I get as well from the seeds.
Your approach to making these videos and your no nonsense skills are very instructional to a newbie here! Thank you.
Always great to see you display your knowledge! Thanks for sharing.
you´re a true profesor, i never thought about using nursery plants to obtain rootstocks, great advice

Awesome content , thank you for sharing with us , only thing left for me to do is practice getting the cuts right and doing it at the right time of year , spring here in Australia is September , I’d love to graft or produce cuttings from a wine grape veriety , I have red table grapes but my heart is with wine making so grafting maybe what I need if I can get my hands on some graft cuttings from wine varieties.

Thank you! Cheers!
Nice 👍😀
Jaime- I have been following you for over a year now- your videos have taught me so much re:grafting. I have had great success especially with your whip and tongue technique. Have you ever heard of Joe Real’s modified bark grafting technique? If you have an email, I can send you the pdf of it.
you make it look so easy! thank you for sharing this vital information with us. also, do you find it necessary to clean/sanitize the knife before every new graft?
Very good information, I'm from Ukraine,
Still learning so much from you. I've been trying the whip-tongue technique on my avocado grafts with some success (not 100%). The softer avocado wood requires a lot of patience in knife control. I plan to post a video of a couple of "success" stories in the next few days, and I'll cross-link to your channel.

Great and resistant varieties are Ljana, Lasta, Moldava. I am looking for some of these of my own.
Wedge in wedge with tongue, for me this is one of the best vaccinations👍🤝🤝🤝
Its an excellent technique in terms of percentages in most fruit trees.
Excellent video! Thanks for such good detail!!!! Can you tell me the name of the pruning knife, the string and the black and clear tape you are using please? Thanks so much!!!!
Excelentes videos!
Thank you! Very nice video and demonstration! What is the black tape that you use?
It's a self-fusing rubber tape (you can find it at amazon, for instance).
dear friend, what kind of pen do you use in order to mark on the scions (white coloured ).thanks for all videos.
Buenas j.
I would like to know does the rootstock produce buds? It is grafted with wax and there are two buds growing from underneath the wax joint. I might end up with different grape variety.
Hi,
Is it possible to add another root to a tree by a grafting technique or any other ? to make sure that the tree survives if one root has to be removed?
Req avocado pleeas!!
What material do you use to bind the grafting? Kind of raffia?
Podria informar de como injertar olivo
Obrigado
Hi Sacadura- I did the whip and tongue technique to graft onto old root stock. This was done around mid winter and was v happy when the bud burst in early spring. However after a while they started shivering. What was wrong and is there any way to rescue the graft? Thanks
When do you remove parafilm tape from the grafted plant?
why do you use self fusing tape and then parafilm at the top?, can you use just parafilm?
I appreciate your videos very much can you please make a video on how to prune grapevines and what time of year
Pruning grapevines is mostly done in the dormant season (winter). I will add your idea to my list. Thanks for the comment.
Can I graft Grapes now first week of Sept. In Brampton Toronto Canada in
Please mention your location so that weather could be observed. You didgrafting on 25 April.
Where is you located at? and where did you buy these already grafted rootstocks? is that those grafted rootstock already having roots or you are rooting them just right before grafting? Thanks a lot.
My some grafted braches show less sap resulting drafting weakness or failing plz help me out why it happened and what may be it's cure
whip and tongue appears best for almost all plants when there is equal diameter stem and scion.
Its one of my go-to techniques. It has excellent results with same diameter healthy rootstock and scions. Thanks for the comment.
What is the black tape and can you provide the company that makes it.
So you're no longer putting the bags or foil for the first few weeks of grafts?
What about grafting in tropical climates that don’t experience dormant season?
There are other techniques that are more suited for grafting in that situation with "green" cuttings. Check the channel and you will find several videos on the subject.
Does the raffia dissolve during the year or does all the tape and raffia need to be removed?
the raffia should be cut off later in the season, it doesn't expand and fall off like the parafilm. It's shown in several other videos where there's a follow up result.
Why does dormant scion need?....can just graft with active scion?
Dormant scions are more forgiving. The rootstock is awake and the flow of sap gives nutrients and energy to the new tissues of the graft. If the scion is active the window for success is much narrower and the percentages of success are usually lower.
@@JSacadura thank u sir...I ll try that.....but how to get dormant scion....is that depend on season?in a particular season when the grape plant goes in dormancy then should we try to graft for better success?
I want 1 greeps plant😊

The grafted branch is sickly ... (((
The inside of the scion looks normal at first glance. We will see if it's really diseased when it grows.
