    Professor Dungeon Master just gave the Warhammer rules a good review. As to your cliffhanger at the end, I went straight to Humphrey Bogart, "Of all the taverns in all the neighborhoods in this city, you had to come into this one". Excellent.

    Great video, I always like to know the process of thoughts of others, that’s why when I play I usually write down my rolls and some thoughts.
    For the rolls my thoughts:
    1- Intolerance + Dispute => the pc (sry I’m bad with names and forgot her name) was in town because there was some group of people that are getting unfairly persecuted (maybe some group of people she knew and know they couldn’t had done something like what is saying, that or the persecutors are making a trap to get her). She went to the tavern to learn more information through his friend (that sayd, it took me more time to get this idea than you took on the video, thankfully in solo we can play as slow as we want, the same can’t be said as doing a video xD )
    2- Pursue + Status quo => in your story i would thought the same idea that you though. I’m “My version” I think it was an easy one, she want to solve the group problem and get rid of the accusations , making like everything has before. The problem is she can’t be seen and the persecutors may had make this to get her.
    3- For the critical yes I wold had done something like: yes = 1 persons , extreme yes = 2 or 3 persons for the critical = a group of persons
    Then I had rolled if some one knew her and if yes, that person was in her side or not.
    The thing I like this “inspirational tables” instead of the “descriptive tables” (the ones that say exactly what it is something) is the first one can be used multiple times and depending the person thoughts, situation and moment we can have diferent answers.
    Good job like allways

    This is really inspiring to me! I just got into solo RPG and I've mainly done a few easy journaling games but I want to use a more freeform system like WFRP, DnD5e, Ironsworn, or so on and use a GM emulator like Mythic here. The issue is, I don't know the rules of any of these systems. How have you in the past started into a new system? Do you read all the rules first and then just learn how to apply mythic to it or do you just jump in?
    Also, what software do you use here to set up your background of your scene and dice rolling? So far, everything has been in my head during journaling but using art for scenes like this is very intriguing! Do you do everything on your PC usually?

    • @wilonascave
      @wilonascave  8 місяців тому

      Glad you enjoyed the video/series! I learn a new system by skimming through the book, then focusing on the Rules & Combat Rules chapter(s). Then I search for a GM Sheet for the system and also study the GM screen (if there is one). For the past few months I have been using my own solo rules and emulator that I am creating rather than Mythic GME.
      I am a pencil artist so I do a lot of hand artwork for my solo campaigns (watch my Dragonbane Solo Campaign for reference), but in this video I use MidJourney.
      For UA-cam I do almost everything on my MacBook, but I mostly journal, like in Dragonbane Solo Campaign.

    Being a loner by nature, I cannot stand playing in a group. Love rpgs, hate group play. I only solo rpg and solo board game. I recently tried with a group again for a few months and once again (and only because it was my future brother-in-laws gaming group), left it because I just can't do it. Between the length of time and boredom sitting there, the arguing, the goofing off, nobody listening to any ideas and just overall lack of cooperation (and these are all people from 30 something to 50 something in the group) I had to quit. Just found your channel and am looking forward to watching your videos.

  • @TheSpr0gz

    Great video. Do you use scene/image prompts for yourself when you're not creating a UA-cam video, like the scene of the inside of the Inn and the two character portraits or is it all theatre of the mind?
    Do you have to be mindful how you phrase your Fate questions based on how you know the Mythic Engine is more likely to respond, "yes" the higher the Chaos Factor? For example, with Chaos Factor 7, 50/50, "Do I open the chest without being disturbed?" there's a 75% chance you do and are NOT disturbed. On the other hand, "Does anyone come in while I'm opening the chest?" there's a 75% change they do and you ARE disturbed. Simple change of question which may not even have been thought about but which can drive the story in two opposite directions.

    • @wilonascave
      @wilonascave  Рік тому

      I draw areas out in pencil in my journals and theatre of the mind as well.
      Yes you have to mindful on how you ask a question to the fate chart or you can simply increase or decrease the Odds. Like your example, raise or lower the odds is a good way of doing it. So if you ask, the fate chart “is the secret weapon that I’ve been looking for this past week in front of my feet” you would put the odds at very unlikely, or even worse than that.
      And if it rolled on a yes, you still get a euphoria feeling that you can’t believe you rolled yes and then you try to figure out why the secret weapon was in front of my feet. maybe somebody shoved it through the ground like through a cave system, maybe it was a fake secret weapon and you thought it was real and it was planted there to make you think it was real, etc..

    I like what you went with but you said they 'became intolerant of her because they disputed that she is a witch'... I don't think that word means what you think it means. I would had still had the exact same scene play out because the village became intolerant of her and this bartender disputed the hatred for her and supported her still. ;)

    I'm going to learn Warhammer 4th edition by playing solo first. This really helps. I think I may use the new mythic gme 2e module on foundry vtt when I can just to save time, but I will go analog as well when I feel the need to roll physical dice. I can see your point, have heard the same for decades. But this scene and all of the rest could have been played out in so many different ways, with random dice rolls. Leading to why this way is so much better than a one-shot PC game (play once and it will always be the same). I have been playing solo for 34 years and will never play with a group or a GM. But I can see the attraction for some to play in a group.
      Happy gaming.

    One of my friends problem for playing solo is he thought the solo aspect takes the role playing from the RPG, and I don't have any answer at that time beside documentation : written, audio, or audio visual. I also want to answer it's okay for him to just RP inside his head but I don't think it can answer him. It is also my reason why I record mine and put them in my channel, albeit in my own language that I'm comfortable with. I wanted some records of me playing.
