Nice BUT - Imagine this with Derek's throbbing Precision and Michael on his Jupiter - Man the memories are still with me. They will remain etched in my soul forever. Going backwards Thirty Frames a Second.
I agree that the classic lineup with Derek and Mick was the best. But all fairness to the musicians who followed, they've generally been capable of holding their own. I've seen this particular line-up, with Eddie Duffy and Andy Gillespie, live on a few occasions in the UK and Europe and they're talented musicians in their own right.
@@dhevingovender5414 Talented - I agree but don’t compare to the original line up and never will. Saw SM live a few times in the early day’s - cold shiver down my spine even thinking about their raw energy. Derek inspired me to buy my first bass at 17 - learning those early bass line’s that still give me a rush today age 61 when I play them. Mick with his Jupiter 4 and little Korg. His JP4 was so trick too. Owned one myself for a few year’s. Derek and his pbass - omg Even today I get a rush listening to those roundwounds biting into those fret’s. Recall standing few feet away from the stage in Manchester Hacienda one night - early 80’s Think gig is on YT. Brilliant memories I treasure to this day. What a band
If this song was recorded by Simple Minds circa 1982 with original members and Jim Singing like back then it would be an amazing song...with this Simple Minds its just good 👍
@@animaljustice7774 Both bands deserve a lot of respect for their longevity, ongoing creativity and energy. A lot of quality music from both bands over the years.
Oooohh here we go again. I'm not exactly sure why people who hate them now bother showing up on vids like this only to voice their disdain. Nobody's forcing you to watch them.
Black & White was good, Graffiti Soul was even better. Then Kerr bottled it, kicked out Mel (again!) ... Hired people young enough to be his grandchildren from the United Nations and now sounds like Bucks Fizz.
I see them every time they tour Australia. Never gets old.
Holy shit that was great! Nothing crusty about them boys! That was nothing less than spectacular!
It was 19yrs ago
@@stephenmcculloch7192And they are still banging it out today!
Great video. Excellent to see all of the banter too!
Saw them on this tour at the Astoria London. Opened with Sleeping girl.
One of my favourite songs ever.
Grandissimi Simple Minds !!! E Jim Kerr spettacolare, con una voce unica...
Best live band great!!! 👍👍

My two favorite bands U2 and SM. Don’t knock U2. They still got it

This is in 2005??
Grandad Jim. Karaoke Minds. Shadow of what they were.

@@kristeninthedirtysouth one of my favourite bands of all time. No hate just an honest opinion and view. Now calm down you little snowflake ❄️
He was only 46 at the time, still young. And still killing it at 63.
Go listen to goldie looking chain then taff 😂😂😂

Love Big Music and most of Walk Between Worlds.
Jim controls that band
You know I do agree. I love simple minds but they just sound wishy-washy nowadays.
Jim kicked out Mel? What the hell happened?
I used to be friends with someone that dated Jim many years ago, she told me stories!
Lost interest in them at Street fighting Years.
I hate to say this but in 2024 they sound like a karaoke band. In the early eighties they were untouchable. What a shame.
Bullspit!
Utter tripe. Same old shit sound every new album. No tune, no hook, no melody. When Mick MacNeil left, this once great band died a slow death.
