I've seen plenty of players use that POI as a horde base but not in your style! Using the roof seemed easier (early game). Great video. I'd love to see how YOU evolve this base for later horde nights and crafting base set-up. Thanks for the entertainment to the best duo in the apocalypse!
Oh the dead rooster is great! I use them as remote bases on large maps on high difficulties before I have the gyro. In 10 minutes you can clear the POI, knock out the stairs and close in the 2nd floor loft area. Then you have a wide open area for a crafting/living in any biome.
I lean towards the evo of this POI :) After so many hours of gameplay, I got bored of building bases from scratch and I have found new satisfaction in "POI-all-in-one" renovations :) Great video man, as usual :)
I used this poi as a base in vanilla 1.0. it's already extremely sturdy and really easy to make a variety of base types in several possible locations. Great video!
So funny that you chose the Dead Rooster. I used it for my first 5 horde nights as well...I'm a console player so it was just vanilla but it was a good, easy to fortify first base POI. This Mod makes me yearn for PC...
This was interesting to see. I've never played using any of the overhaul mods. The blueprint system is different. How is this better than vanilla? Can you upgrade wood to cobble? Video idea: compare the overhaul mods you've tried.
I am not sure if it is better, but it is interesting. It does prevent nerd poles though. You can upgrade wood to cobble, or even cobble to wood. There is no linear upgrade progression so you can upgrade directly to any material. That is a good video idea!
I'd love to see a base design to make Stoner's (ranged burned zombies) less of a issue. I have ways to fight them but getting a few at one time is the issue, i can't figure out a design where i can shoot them reliably with good vision without also taking heavy damage back. (i believe they start to spawn in hordes at gamestage 20+?)
I encountered them on 2nd mbloodmoon, so day 14. I think its basically cop mechanic. You can see them = they can see you = they spit. So maybe any cop-proof design will do. But i really dislike blueprint system. It`s awkward and hard to build with this.
@@_Da1v3r Nah they are setup to know your location without seeing you, basically as a anti-perch zombie. No standing still in front of a funnel for the zombies, even with full cube blocks they see through it and will keep shooting til they break through to get you to, while cops like you said have to see you to start spitting. I made a underground horde base and 3 of them from different angles repeatedly shot into the ground til they burrowed through to my base while the rest all ran to me like usual. xD
so your doing videos with afterlife and seems the first horde was light I wonder what advice you have against the special zombies like not sure what it's name is but acts similar to a cop, but throws I think explosive rocks at your horde base believe it looks like a pale zombie with glowing lines on it
Can you do 90+ days horde base in wasteland? I died in like 5 minutes in full concrete 2 blocks thick base (64 zombies) without even seeing what is shooting at me through walls
Just start digging into the stone layer with your pick axe and you'll gather small amounts of limestone. Periodically you'll find larger deposits as you pick your way through the stone. I don't know if there are surface nodes of limestone. I've mainly found it while digging for other ore.
does this mod allow remote crafting? in other words, do you always have to get the mats out of each box before you go to the workstation? Some overhauls automatically allow for this and others like Darkness Falls I think you have to earn it by crafting that feature.
Please include the names of the cubes used in the comments, and when adding pillars, specify the height in the description. Since your content is excellent, it's important to accommodate those who may not be fluent in English. Personally, I find myself pausing the video and rewatching the same section multiple times just to understand it better
Have any more questions about what I did or the mod itself? Leave a comment below :)
An evolution of a POI horde base over time would be great, even if it's more highlight than how-to.
Noted, thank you!

Thank you! I haven't seen how others have used it but I'd be interested to see what differing minds came up with.

Yeah it seems pretty great in the ways you mentioned. I think I'd use it in an actual playthrough if I came across it.

Thanks for the vote! Historically I have preferred building from scratch but I've found building in POIs pretty reinvigorating.

Agreed about the poi. Thank you 😊
Absolutely love the videos. Can’t wait to try this mod.
Was wondering if you would do a quick “how to make a map in afterlife” tutorial ?

Small world 😆

Can't wait to see how you construct a base for the later hordes that have unique ranged attacks and chew through concrete like butter!
Great video!!
Haven't tried the mod myself but it looks like fun.
You should definitely give it a try!
Like this great work as always. Think afterlife is a big step forward in slowing the base game down.
I'm definitely enjoying the experience
we're so used to the fun police's bullshit that you expected the bucket to be consumed during crafting 😂

That is an excellent video idea! I haven't encountered them myself yet so not sure when they spawn. But I'll look into it.
I'll be keeping an eye out for this video too - the Stoners, and I know they have a variety of other kinds of zombies, too!

@@masumitanaka2170 Yeah. Nailed it today on 21 bloodmoon. Rat bastards
Any let's play with the mod, like to see your take on it. Ik about 2 youtubers doing a series atm
Taco and I have discussed doing one :)
Let me now if anybody built a day 35 Horde Base yet 👀...and survived
First hoard bases yet you have a map already holy crap
I think that is me being in debug mode, not that I actually got a map.
@@pseudoposse okay lol I figured you grinded the paste it took me 12 days to find enough blueberries for the blue paste 🤣

I know what you are talking about but I actually haven't encountered it myself yet. That could be a future video ;)
@@pseudoposse if you know who guns, nerds, and steel is he is playing afterlife and has encountered them nasty lot they only long range unlike cops
So Afterlife just changed RPG 7DtD into Survival Builder 7DtD
Pretty much!

How to get Limestone for bricks??
Haven't gotten to brick crafting yet but I am hoping to soon :)

Thank you! Gonna diggy diggy hole ;)
are you going update the 7DTD mod gen gui it be a bit and i have not seen anything new
It is in the production queue :) No news on when it will come at this point. I pretty much work on it bit by bit when I have a moment.
Phew... Yeah nah thanks! Still dizzy from all that 😅
😂

Hmm, I think we should be able to include block shapes in the video descriptions in the future :)
