I've had to use your techniques to pass my DOT physicals. My last two DOT physicals were a mess, 1st physical the 2 BP cuffs messed up, then the nurse pissed me off and up went my BP and the 2nd physical, I questioned the eye chart line being at a 25' distance and not the approved 20' distance( I counted the floor tiles). I had to use your techniques again to calm down to pass the BP. I hate the unprofessional clinics that I have to go to for my DOT physicals. Thank you for all of your needed information 🙏

Thank you. My blood pressure shoots up extremely high at the doctor’s office. It happens automatically. When I take it at home and at the pharmacy it’s falls in the normal range. Sitting in the waiting room waiting to be seen causes nervousness, and the nurse putting that cuff on my arm makes me nervous. I will definitely try these. Thanks again💐

I went to the Dr. the other day and a nurse took my BP. I tried breathing deeply but I knew it would be high. (It’s always high.) Sure enough, the nurse practically screamed, “WOW!!!! YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE IS EXTREMELY HIGH!!!! DID YOU KNOW YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE??!!!!!!”
Yes, I know that it’s about 20 points higher at the Dr than when I take it at home and thank you for helping to raise my anxiety even more 😩

Thanks Doc , I have terrible white coat syndrome. Last time I went to see the doc I ended up having an ECG ! When I take my BP at home it’s pretty good . I’ll try your methods and see if they work 👍

Yes even hearing that darn thing ticking away sends my bp up without the cuffs even strapped on my arm yet

Adam, I even tried taking my BP in the car before seeing the cardiologist and figured that would work. I was going to take a pic of the result and show him but it was too high. Nothing works, I tried breathing techniques and other stuff. My BP is under control so now my next visit will be a virtual video visit - basically a zoom call. I don't need to go to the office so this should work out.

taking BP medication in the car before an appointment isn't going to work. It takes time for the medication to work.

@@AdamJStoryDC LOL, you misunderstood my comment. I took my actual blood pressure in the car - I brought my BP machine with me. I take my BP meds in the morning HAHA

My bp is always high at the doctors office. There was an incident when the nurse took my bp for second time and it dropped almost 15 points. My doctor still increases my meds.

Every time I go to the doctor and experience White Coat Syndrome, the doctor reads my mind and says out loud "and don't tell me this is white coat syndrome because yours is too high for that".
    Thanks doc.

How many times do you do the box method and the Valsalva (spelling?) while waiting in the waiting room to be seen by the doctor?

Why not just record yourself or use the values on your home cuff ,take that with to Dr. appt.

Oh wow no way that's why sometimes people get sick when they do deadlifts and squats?? From the valsalva maneuver? I don't know how to do that maneuver now I don't want to do it all 😱 when I do deadlifts and squats but I always thought people got sick from doing heavy lifting because they just ate

that's at least one problem with hardcore, third party profiteers running the show: lousy bp measurements. In Germany, my cousin wore a 24 hours bp monitor to get an accurate overall reading. He avoided medication this way, while in the states, after two bp in office measurements, they wanted him on drugs, pronto.
