#Umineko #Reaction
Umineko is a fascinating mix of EDM, neo-classical music, baroque and a little bit of medieval and trance music.
there's so much more than "murder mystery" to Umineko that I feel like no one can ever describe the idea exactly
So true. I didn't know how to answer at all when my friends asked what umineko was about without massive spoilers.
Its about love
you also should not watch it as a single entry as the overarching mythos of the "when they cry" series is distributed across 3 or so different universes.
more like about the core nature of the worldm how cruel and massive the worlds, in certain way the world is quite fucked up
the idea you have so many fucked up and abnormal humans in the world, dont even start mentioning those fucking witches which is beyond human understanding and normal concepts dont even apply to them, it let me realize world is so curel and horrible with concepts including fun and happy as umineko clearly has twisted meaning of fun and happy which makes you start questioning about existences and concepts themselves, is it right or wrong/any more depth and meaning behind those concepts and behaviour, umineko is basically reshaping your understanding in how to perceving diffferent ideas, people and the world
this plays in what is arguably the most horrifying heart wrenching section in the novel as I'm sure you can tell by how oppressive and intimidating this track was
Logic error?
@@TheBBCSlurpee ep 7 tea party flashback, tearing the guts out of claire
@@TJ_Sind2000 ohhhh yeah for sure, I associate that tea party with “ridicule” so much that I forgot
Storywise organs in Umineko songs are closely associated to magic. And piano can more closely represent human side (especially soft or sad piano) or be neutral. If the song has both, than it's probably a song that plays at an important moment that touches some secrets.
Oooh I see
Umineko not only is the best story in existente nur the music is always amazing aswell
it's not the best story in existence but the music is amazing
@Zephhi definitely one of
I just love that Umineko OST can capture raw emotion in their best tracks, and this track beautifully describes one thing - utter despair.
Considering the scenes this track plays in, a description about it that stuck with me is "a scream for help that goes unheard forever". Considering the EP7 Tea Party scene this plays in, it is only fitting.
The initial context of this track does involve a cathedral, which is likely part of why the organ goes so hard in this one. (then again, that may also just be a standard umineko thing).
Not all tracks in this are dark, fingers crossed you'll get to hear one of the more hopeful ones in the future.
I absolutely love umineko music reactions on UA-cam. Hope you'll continue reacting to it because there are soundtracks that may be even more interesting and unique compared to Patchwork Chimera in this novel)) For example Endless Nine, Busy Devils, Miragecoordinator, Yomitsu Hirasaka Corruption, Birth of the new witch (vocal version), Wings (TSUBASA), Golden slaughterer, Liberatedliberator, Kuina, L&D Circulation, Death (From Stupefaction), Kina no Kaori (vocal version), Golden ShowTime, The End Of The World, Black Lilliana, Golden Sneer (+ vocal version), Fishy Aroma, Bore-Ral, Rain etc.
The vocal version of Hope by Nano Hazuki is also amazing. It's not in the actual game so I suspect many haven't heard it. The 10 and 20 year anniversary versions of You from Higurashi are also fantastic.
@RandomGuy010 Hope is also great yeah. Haven't heard You though
@@tendo2815 Gotta read Higurashi, mate.
@@RandomGuy010 in the near future
Its quite fun seeing someone who has not read the VN and does not know the context for the songs
As for other Umineko tracks and their tones. True, most are quite dark, but there are some that can be quite light or confident too. For example a track called "Dreamenddischarger" is more of a "clash between two determined people" .
As for more dark stuff. "Yomitsu Hirasaka corruption" is probaply one of the darkest tracks in the VN. Those who known....know.
Ridicule is another dark one that track is the only one that sends shivers down my spine.
yep that one is insane, so good
I like the ones like Hope, Wingless too
Umineko OST is just really good
Oh yeah Yomitsu Hirasaka corruption, one of my favourites. That tea party was one hell of a journey for sure.
"you don't catch a glimpse of hope or something remotely bright"
yeah that describes patchwork chimera in an unbelievably accurate manner. you don't even have to be capable of interpreting musical meaning to tell that this piece means NOTHING but bleak darkness and hopelessness. it is played in scenes that present the pinnacle of inescapable hell and destruction in a manner conceived by a character capable of conjuring the WORST probable events in trillions upon trillions of possibilities.
Well, there you go
Yup, the sum up of this song is, u f*k up
One of my favorite pieces of music ever. A perfect portrait of utter despair or evil euphoria, depending on the scene in the novel.
oh no, this song brings me too sad memories
nearly everything regarding Umineko brings sad memories
Sadge
It's nice to see you going on the reaction on Umineko's OST which has a loooot of variety. Even if it does not bring a lot of view.
"Black Lilliana" is if you want to cover a dark waltz.
If you want some lighter tone, you may like "ALIVE" as well. One of my personal favorite.
If you like the organa and want a vilain theme, I'd recommend "System 0".
there are really emotional and more hope'ish song in umineko, like "Bring the fate", "Far" and "Hope" definitely worth check out to see the contrast between them and the darker songs like patchwork chimera and the executioner
I really wouldn't call "Bring the fate" more 'hopeish', really it's quite the opposite if you think about it.
Lastend Conductor, Ressurected Replayer, Dreamend Discharge and Mirage Coordinator are good too. But to me the best one is the vocal Ricordando il Passato, it's the most beautiful and emotional music in all Umineko.
Looooove your Umineko reactions! I have been reading it with my friend and his favorite part is the music! Started giving me an appreciate for music's ability to communicate themes and feelings even if there are no lyrics!
I think this track is Yoshikawa-45, not zts, but I'm no expert.
yeah -45 made it
One thing regarding the "all doom and gloom" thing: Do realize the Umineko OST is _gargantuan,_ as each track is meant to enhance one specific kind of scene - some scenes having a track all their own that never returns. It has many tracks that aren't doom and gloom at all.
Always tune in for a new Umineko, there's a hundreds of songs worth checking out
Omg another umineko reaction 😊
Anyway, when’s the entire Umineko VN playthrough coming Lmfao?
If you get 299 + you viewers to watch it, I'll do it 😉
@@AtlasBenighted time to rally the Umi fans
I recommend a hopeful song by Umineko to change the air, Endless Nine, or the song literally called "Hope". Thanks for another reaction from Umineko :3
-45 is a real genius. the one and the only. no composer's even close to him in his prime
love to see more -45 appreciators, my life is nothing without -45, cygnus, GOETIA and LUNE songs
Listen to The house in Fata Morgana ost's
its a visual novel like umineko
You really have to Proud Dust from Umineko as well at some point, it is amazing as well!
Hope you listen to other great OST's (maybe even play the game) like:
-endless nine
-golden nocturne (instrumental my fav)
-kuina
-Goddes gardena
-Alive
-golden slaughter
Love this song! -45 is a god (you also made a mistake, the composer is -45 not ZTS).
iirc this song isnt actually ZTS its yoshikawa-45 aka -45 though easiest way to find his stuff is by searching D'va;;;;;;;;5. the organ defonately isnt as present in other tracks of his but like LITERALLY ALL of his stuff is this trancy gothic often very melodic dark style. theres like 6 or 7 albums and all of it is so good.
the world needs more people to listen to -45 songs
A good old OST is the one from the original Last Exile.
It's so peak
The piano gets very Touhou-esque at times.
I'll repeat my previous comment and suggest a livestream speedrun of the Umineko OST. There's about 570 tracks and they're all good.
I think this is perfectly playable, sometimes Touhou music goes beyond that
@@AtlasBenighted Yeah but the feel of it reminds me of Touhou music, which makes sense considering all of the Umineko composers with the possible exception of DAI are Touhou arrangers.
Where are my fellow system 0 appreciators?
Right here
Do goldenslaughterer please!
Still here hoping he will react to Grandia 2 Hope and Despair. 😅
do isshin ashina ost from sekiro
Composer isnt ZTS!
Resurrectedreplayer ost please from Umineco🤗
Well, that's good, but when will you continue playing Hollow knight?
😆
the composer for Patchwork Chimera isn't zts, it's Yoshikawa45 (also credited as -45). theres quite a few composers who contributed to Umineko's ost
