I loved ”Made of” from the get-go and I’ve played it on repeat the whole day. 😍 I hope the staging at UMK will do justice for this amazing song! Can’t wait to see it live in Tampere!
The song took me by surprise in the best way ever, have not heard of her before. The video with this mini city is amazing... everyone made of different...but together...love this song.
it feels a little sad that we only get to see one of these songs compete, so many good options. My guess is that puppy wins for the fact that pop fans will have more split votes while all the hardcore metal fans and party enjoyers will vote for puppy. Unless erika comes out with a bang where everyone agrees to vote her but we'll see!
Yep, I feel the same. I think that six of the seven songs are going to end up competitive to qualify and then come in various places within the final. So feels yucky that we’re gonna lose so many good songs.
Not so certain about puppy winning. I'm what you might call "target audience" for that song and it really just annoys the hell out of me and I know i'm not the only one. Besides, look at cyan kicks. They were never even close to winning despite having the only heavier song.
@@KK19825 i am also a big metal fan and I found it super messy where it was cringe with the lyrics and all. But finns... their mindset often is if they like none of the songs lets vote the song that is the most rebel like cuz they aint big esc fans. Also they can vote for free
For me, this is my current joint favourite of UMK this year along with Nelli Matula's song. I do agree, I wish the ending was more impactful because its pretty strong throughout other than that and it has a good hook. I'm interested to see the staging for this one. I'm not currently expecting it to win but its certainly competitive.
Thanks for the great analysis and appreciation! I think it's great that this is in the UMK25 selection, even tho this song is not what I would otherwise listen to. I hope Goldielocks becomes famous through this! Quality and unique voice. She already got a awesome welcome and much compliments💜
Similar contestant to Glow last year. Represents more international radio sound that is pretty rare in Finnish radio. Personally I enjoyed this and found it really fresh. In UMK it is probably gonna finish similar to Jesse Markin as well, so around 4-5th place.
With every song and video from Finland I keep thinking: Sergio Jaén is going to have so much fun! I absolutely love the look and aesthetics of this video and I'm obsessed with the song.
I really like the song and the video and her - the whole package that we've got so far - but I think it's going to need excellent staging to get it to Eurovision and to do well once it gets there. Staging that has an intro/body/climax progression that is not inherent in the song. Again, I *really* like the song - and I'm rooting for it! - but at this point it seems more like something for the radio than for the stage.
This is so cool and totally sounds like an international radio hit (which I hope it becomes)! In my UMK Top 3 for now (before Erika), but not sure it's the best choice for ESC, as the song lacks buildup and many will see it as low impact in the show.
Now I have an act to root for in UMK. The other songs are ok and interesting in their own ways, but this one is the one that feels special and Pan-European. It does need a wow staging to make an impact.
I love the music video and the "what are you made of" line. The whole song is catchy, I just wanted a little more power towards the end, the last chorus is the same as the other two. This is my 2nd place so far behind Nightmares
I feel like every time I listen to Made Of it gets better, I went from "it's pretty good" to "I need this in ESC" overnight, really excited about the staging of this because staging is gonna make or break this entry's chances (hoping this gets Paskana treatment not Kuori Mua treatment pleaseeee)
This isn't my favorite (probably my 3rd), but it is definitely the one I'm most excited to see the staging for! UMK is too strong this year because I want to see most of these in Basel.
she reminds me of both Marina and the Diamonds and Allie X (who is one of my favourite pop/dark pop artists at the moment). such a cool song and artist, all i am left wanting is a bit of a higher kick going into the last chorus which i think she could do easily live either visually or vocally. cannot wait for her live performance! she's also seems like such a cool and level-headed person in her interviews.
I almost wondered whether she was in one of the games companies making this video, as the setting looks like Bright Falls from Alan Wake and the cars are identical! 😅 (Talking about that game, do check out the music from it, especially Old Gods of Asgard, the virtual band that is actually Poets of the Fall).
@@ESCTom OMG!!! I know you are busy now, but you will not regret listening to the sound tracks! And definitely watch Herald of Darkness video (as well as Poets of the Fall, there are two guest singers, who were actors in the game). Alan Wake is full of quirky Finnish jokes too! I don't play games, but have watched the compilations on UA-cam. Old Gods of Asgard (aka POTF) performed Herald of Darkness live in Los Angeles at The Game Awards just over a year ago, and it was streamed to 118 million people - bigger than the Oscars (can also be found on UA-cam, but the reactions to this are even better). POTF/OGOA have also made music for other Remedy games such as Max Payne and Control. Some of it heavier, but check out The Poet and the Muse (which gives clues how to progress in the game).
I sighed with relief when hearing this release because there was at least a song I finally truly liked. Big fan of indie so to me this sounds pretty standard for indie (nothing new but at least it will be different from the rest in esc). It might be a little too radio friendly and mellow as it lacks some kind of progression or build up especially towards the end, so it isn't exactly formatted optimally for esc imo, but a little tweaking can certainly help. Plus Goldielocks has very strong and striking visuals so the staging should be cool. While I still have my competitive hopes hinged on Vikman, I really enjoyed this song. She is definitely going on my personal everyday playlist and I look forward to exploring more of her back catalog.
Really love this one. Think it needs to build or have a change up a bit at the end though. Great visual aesthetics and song is just my cup of tea. Will it win - don’t think so unfortunately. Goldielocks’ voice reminds me of Paloma Faith. Another great UMK this year.
Great song, really catchy - the video is also in-CREDIBLE (over-sized Alice in Wonderland (bunny, looking-glass) and Gulliver's Travels (the way she lies with her hair on the ground) inspired). The melody is very Dua Lipa (dollarstore), but her voice is much more interesting/appealing than DL (to me). Will DEFINITELY be listening to this A LOT. But it won't win.
zero chances of winning, of course; but this has so much personality: playful and quirky (not just her, but also musically), catchy, vocally really accomplished. i'm absolutely charmed
Hahaha, that Super Mario ending is the one!!! 😊 I'm with you that this is one of my favourite UMK's. This song is very pleasant and delivers a totally different energy and vibe to all the other songs. Love her voice and the image, plus the concept of the video. It's just lacking something for me that Neea Rivers, Nelli Matula or Viivi all have, but that's just down to personal preference. This slides solidly in the 4th place for me right now, but im sure I'll be listening to this again. Costee is still the weakest of the bunch for me.
I love this song! But at the same time I think this could either be incredible live, or just kinda boring. A lot is riding on the staging and on how well she sings live
I really like this , my only complaint is that after the middle 8 the last chorus feels very stale . At the moment I think puppy is gonna win , all the songs are the same level so puppy stands out a ton for the televote , I hope Erika brings something amazing
This is my favorite too, feels fresh and different and I love her singing voice. I think every song so far is missing that climatic ending which is needed to elevate them from nice to amazing.
I like this and I feel like if UMK had a 50/50 jury televote split it could do quite well but in the current system I don't see Goldielocks challenging. I like them all so far but Sekaisin and Aina are my favourites and unfortunately I think it's pretty obvious neither of them will challenge.
This might be my favorite so far. Aina is a close second though. Its real catchy and had a high quality international sound to it. I don't think it'll do that well in Umk unfortunately, judging by the reception here but I could be surprised if the live show elevates it.
I agree, my fave so far as well by virtue of being original and different without trying too hard like with Puppy. I also agree that it could have a little more oomph, hope they find that.
I still don't feel the same excitement for Eurovision like I did in the past, 2024 really burnt me. I hate feeling like this! I want to be excited but I just am not, hopefully my love for the contest returns but I guess I just have trust issues over what happened last year ❤️🩹 Maybe when the national final live shows start I'll get excited

That puppy song is nothing new.. I like this one ❤️🎵
This one has a cool groove. Goldielocks is a pleasant surprise and differs from others with her distinctive voice and pleasant sound all in all.
Alright this could be an international hit! My favorite song by far!
This could get a lot of love from the juries in UMK. This song is great, it's super modern and catchy and she also seems a great performer.
That might be, but its only 25%
supermodern? that song screams 2015
@@eurodaraur attitude screams 18th century. W/ love ofcourse 😊
I absolutely adore this and I feel like the staging will be epic

I´m really vibing with this one. It has amazing groove.
This is my favourite so far! 🙋♂️
I love this. I really hope she'll at least get more fans, if nothing else. Her sound is different than the usual UMK pop songs, and I'm all for it.

@@KK19825 But "Puppy" and Cyan Kicks song are totally different... You can't lump all slightly heavier songs into one big pile!

I hope that she odds in a big crescendo at the end in the live performance, because that’s the biggest thing that’s missing for me
I was really REALLY pleasantly surprised by this song. Currently my favourite.

This is the only song I've loved so far from UMK. I would LOVE this to win. It's exactly my type of indie pop that I gravitate towards
Similar contestant to Glow last year. Represents more international radio sound that is pretty rare in Finnish radio. Personally I enjoyed this and found it really fresh. In UMK it is probably gonna finish similar to Jesse Markin as well, so around 4-5th place.

4:57 correction: we already had 2 (nightmares and puppy) and this is the 3rd addiction

If Puppy has bad staging and Erika fumbles the bag, this could have strong potential, but otherwise I can still see this coming top 4.
This IS The best so far, not an Eurovision Song,But very unique piece. Like IT. ❤
Love this! So fresh and catchy, but perhaps not an esc contender. However, would love to see this on esc stage
I love the music video and the "what are you made of" line. The whole song is catchy, I just wanted a little more power towards the end, the last chorus is the same as the other two. This is my 2nd place so far behind Nightmares

Sadly there is like no chances for this to win UMK, fantastic song.

I’d never heard of this Alan Wake thing before this week, and now all of a sudden, I keep hearing it all the time 😂

This is really great, but with the effects on the vocals I wonder if she can sing this live. Reminded of Go Tobann last year a bit.
The video reminded me of the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.
"a palate cleanser for those who did not like Puppy" how did you know xD

LOVE !!!! Please Finland don't pick the Puppy song 🙏
Hmm... the song is catchy but I'm not seeing the sonic build up that would make this an exciting number in Eurovision

best so far for me, winning UMK? naahh?

Nope. My brain is still here --> 🐶🐶🐶

Ear worm...
I can't stand the cursive singing.. Its such a shame because I'd like the song without it.
For me it’s actually the worst song of UMK so far 🫢 I'm really excited for Erika Vikman tonight
I think everyone is excited for Erica Vic Man 😂
