Hayley , many do not understand your control range as you would wish. I know from the comments , however you do know what you have achieved here and it is a masterpiece of presentation. Very dramatic and pure. Lovely rendition of the song. The instrumentals are -perfect- in my opinion. I love this... so clean, so serene. Great pitch and tone and tempo.

Look, I didn't say she was bad. She has a very pretty voice, as well as being very attractive herself. I was just making a personal observation because I sometimes can't understand what she is saying.
Best version is by Aled Jones, with his chorister singing origins, in my honest opinion, even though Westenra's voice is much clearer - but then she is a girl! :)

@UltimatePilot1 not realy.. you can't compare Tarja Turunnen with Hayley Westerna.. their voice are so different but both magical in the same time.. i would say both versions are pure magic :X
says who? Hayley can sing it any way she feels is appropriate. she is one of the best singers in the world today and has plenty of experience to judge how it should be sung.
No offense, but thats why I purposely go find her singing the same song but showing the lyrics. She sings like an angel, now, and then, but your right sometimes on certain songs she is hard to understand.
+Timothy Stratton, I totally agree with you. The popular American music culture believes every musical selection should have back-beat trap drums; but actually, Timothy, they are quite subtle in this lovely arrangement. It could have been much worse.
Is this even an American musical selection? I know Hayley is a New Zealander, but I suppose that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the instrumental portion of the song.

Hayley was 12 years old when she recorded this. I wouldn't say one of the best singers in the world then. Nowadays, yes she is.

Yes, 100% sure. This was written by Blake for The Snowman, which is a 1982 film. Nightwish didn't cover it until more than a decade later.

As a fellow kiwi I absolutely love Hayley,But as this version goes Hmmmm, I prefer Chloe Agnews version fellow celtic woman.
Chloe's version is very good, but nothing beats the Peter Auty sung original imo.
