Darn copyright demons. -- I know everyone says that the show only really kicks off at episode 4, and I totally understand being excited about the romance side of things, but these first 3 are just as fun and charming to me as the rest of the show. Apparently Leslie Jones LOVED playing Spanish Jackie, especially and specifically in getting to wear the knee-high pirate boots. Also “I made an assortment of tapas :D” Roach remains my favorite crewmate to the end.
Yes, the first three episodes are really charming and I loved them before I even knew that Blackbeard would show up and things would get gayer. I love the first two especially as it explores the dynamic with Stede and the crew first and then adds new factors.
This whole time, like a fool, I've been watching reactions from people who are _excited_ to watch this show. So trite! Begrudging enjoyment is where it's at! I may have to join your Patreon. ❤
Your reluctance to enjoy this show is giving me life haha. This show does that to you, especially with some of the more cliffhanger endings! LESLIE JONES MY QUEEN! Fun fact: Absolutely jumped at the role of playing a pirate queen with 18 husbands. Didn’t care how or where just wanted to play a pirate queen. Also did you notice the wooden hand? Love the details on the costuming and sets. The part where she screams “MY NOSES” still gets me haha. So glad we get more of Spanish Jackie! I know there’s such a big suspenseful build up to the Blackbeard reveal, but I think it’s also important to note that from ep 1-3 we’re getting everyone else’s perception of Blackbeard. Remember Pete’s story, the way everyone seems to cower when they hear the name Blackbeard. And the literal surprise from BB himself when there’s one person in this crazy world that isn’t scared shitless by the mere mention or invitation to personally meet BB. It’s kind of obvious from this point on where the story could go, but how we get there… ooooh are you in for a ride!

here's the thing: no one told you leslie jones was up in this wearing a red velvet suit with a wooden hand and twenty husbands, but doesn't that make it such a pleasant surprise to discover while watching? love that the big reveal for blackbeard was essentially him coming in hitting that three quarter pose, twirling his hair and beard, and throwing stede a line he probably rehearsed for a significantly less injured guy, and stede just gets this dopey grin on his face because the leather-clad angel singing him to his sleep knows his name! can't wait to see you react to more!
The rest of the episodes are FANTASTIC. My personal favorite is episode 5, but from here the whole show just gets better and better. Cant wait to see more!

I mean, that cliffhanger tho 😂❤😂❤ It is impossible to resist Blackbeard's allure but the entire show is a string of narrative, comic and self-ironic gems. So glad to see the appreciation 🎉
Now the 3 least gay episodes are down. In the meantime, let's appreciate that we get some freaking cast diversity. And writing staff diversity too apparently. (and the trailers for season 2 promise more pirate women
@@petrastedman669 She was in the first season? She's Mary's friend, Evelyn, who owns the jaguar Ned. She's not a pirate, she's the widow of the late undertaker in Bridgetown. I would love for her to become a pirate in season 2 though. She's bloodthirsty enough.
And here we are - long haired Taika in leather is sexually confusing EVERYONE who's watching this show! He's insanely hot, this is PEEK Taika, the hottest version of him, it's incredible! Stede and Ed really had the best meet cute. 🥰
