I can't understand people keep arguing who's better billy and who's not, because, guys, every boy who has played Billy has gone through a very hard training and all of them worth praise and admiration. This performance was amazing(one of the best perfomances i have found on youtube so far) and I really like his moves.
I’m reading your comment approximately 7 years after you posted it. I agree with you, it’s true every boy who played the part, including Jamie Bell (the “Original” Billy from the movie) had to endure hours of training rehearsing and performing. Each one of them were fantastic in their own way. Some slightly better but not by very much. The best thing was, witnessing their individual real personality shine through as they gave life to the character.
*goosebumps*! Amazing! Seen it twice and really want to see it again!! this, the mum song and the angry song always make me cry! I wish people would stop making comparisions between each of the Billy's, they are all amazing!
i wish people would stop comparing all the guys that have played billy they are all amazing, they can all act, dance and sing wonderfully! i love billy elliott
they are all grate and i love them all well done billys i love this one when he done it on any dream will do i think he showed how much fun it is and how much ppl like doing things on the show :) :) :) :)
I started when I was 2, but I know people who start when they are your age. If you haven't done any dance before it is really hard because you have to learn basics first. Having said that it is probably very difficult to come to it from other dance aswell because nothing else is quite like it. The feet turn out played havoc with me when I started modern and jazz, which are predominantly in parallel and wanted to have me feet in "ballet second" rather than "modern second". Give it a go!
Leon is currently appearing as Tadzio in the English National Operas production of a 'Death in Venice. The show is on in the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and will run until 29th January 2009 :)
Liam mower and Leon cook were the two best Billy's, though I think maybe Liam just wins with the 30-something spins on the royal variety show with elton
He makes me cry, the way he moves is just amaizing... Being there.l.. God... I'm sucha stupid for feeling this way, but I make ballet, and just seen this... :')
You're really not too old, honestly! You may well find it quite a bit harder than people who started younger do, but it does depend on you as a dancer really. I highly recommend ballet though, it's great fun and you get surprisingly strong from it. Give it a try, definitely! ~Claudia
Liam Mower was the best Billy.....as amazing as every other boy has been in every aspect, none have quite reached the incredible high standard set by Liam Mower - he was, in my opinion, the best Billy ever and i don't think they'll ever find another boy with more exceptional talent than his! Liam will always be the first and best Billy!
he dances with SUCH passion! its amazing to watch. it makes me want to see it again so much!!! he is incredible. lol but his bag at the beginning was so blatantly empty!
actually, the best billy in my mind is michael dameski. played him in mebourne, then borught to broadway, and is now leading the US tour. he is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!
i went 2 see billy elliot on tuesday, it was AMAZING!!! it wasnt the same guy, cz tere r 4 billys, but he wz v v vvvv gd. each guy has a different dance 4 this, so the 1 i saw had more gymnastics and less spinning. i dont no how old leon cooke is, but the other ones are 12, 13, and 14.
I don't think he was actually singing live in this one though, you can see him really out of breath in the last chorus, and his voice remained the same. I can empathise though - all those jumps and dance movements are great :o it'll be really hard to stay in breath and sing at the same time. He's really flexible and everything, wow.
Why would he not be? He was at the time singing this live in the show several times each week, so why not on TV. I imagine one song is no stretch when he was used to performing for almost 3 hours leading the show.
i dont reckon it will be so good in the us. the dancing and singing will be just as good but people wont understand it as well because it is such an english musical. it will still be good though!
Hey .. Your not to old !! I dont do ballet my self but no ones ever too old to start .. like unless you like 60 haha! I Think you should start ! just my opinion tho in the end its up to you lol xx love charlotte xx
Lol, I can't even keep myself balanced doing one. I actually tried to do some when I was watching the movie and I kept falling over and I was like ah never mind.
Geeze, I can't do more than two pirouettes without falling over in dizziness, and he goes and does like a hundred of 'em in one go. I feel sick just watchin!
maybe it's just me- but he seems a little old to be playing Billy. Dont get me wrong- he does it brilliantly but billy is supposed to be, what 11? 12? He looks more like 15 or 16
wow... see i really wanna take up ballet...but i think im probably a bit too old to start..well...im 16...everyone says you shoudl start really young so... :(
haha yea only by the time of this show he was still dancing in a major west end musical... and that's not for 'people who dont make any money and just have dreams' is it now ;)
I saw Leon before his voice broke and it was much better. But this was a good performance -- poor guy, having to sing things high after your voice brakes!
dancing on any dream will do? oh dont you know that show is for people who dont make any money. and have a dream to make some doing what they do. mabye he would if he won it ( which i dont know if he did or not, i doubt it)
It seems so much less emotion than when he use to preform it in his voice, then again I suppose this was more of a physical preformance then a dramatic preformance. :P
lol sorry just dont think its right. spose my comment was harsh haha. but i dont agree with guys doin ballet. i think it just makes them look too feminine. oh and who ever thinks im jealous that lizzie or whatever. ive got my own passion for summit so if you wana check that out then please write back =]
Excellent dancer, really excellent :D And to think I can't even do a basic cartwheel! Mind you, he looks a (tiny) bit too old to play billy elliot really. Just an opinion - Liam Mower looked younger

I've seen this me and my twin sister and we loved it thanks for the video
He left in June last year on the 2nd, I saw him on the 9th because he was doing more shows til he got to his 1000th show.

I think that every Billy Elliot gives there own personality to the part..There all just AMAZING. One isn't better than the other...there all excellent

Everytime I see this it gets better. Leon Cooke was wonderful. I wonder if he's still around and dancing?
I 💕 billy Eliot for me very super the best 👍
A really wonderful British Billy.
is beautiful
bloody marvellous!
Look at the speed on his last spin. Just superb!
I can just about do all those dance movements! They are so hard! Great I would love to go see this in the west-end! Would be amazing!
Liam mower and Leon cook were the two best Billy's, though I think maybe Liam just wins with the 30-something spins on the royal variety show with elton
Musty94Komova Elliott is better
They're both awesome(:
he's the best broadway billy elliot i've seen but nothing beats the original billy, Jamie Bell, he's so good
He makes me cry, the way he moves is just amaizing... Being there.l..
God... I'm sucha stupid for feeling this way, but I make ballet, and just seen this... :')
Brilliant dancer!
How did he become such a good dancer so quickly!?!
just how often do you get to see something this beautiful?
You're really not too old, honestly! You may well find it quite a bit harder than people who started younger do, but it does depend on you as a dancer really. I highly recommend ballet though, it's great fun and you get surprisingly strong from it. Give it a try, definitely!

Yes, I agree, Liam was fantastic!
he dances with SUCH passion! its amazing to watch. it makes me want to see it again so much!!! he is incredible. lol but his bag at the beginning was so blatantly empty!
I saw Leon :D!!
he was ahchem hot
yeah colin does an amazing angry dance!
*standing ovation*
actually, the best billy in my mind is michael dameski. played him in mebourne, then borught to broadway, and is now leading the US tour. he is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!
Watch this, try to do a single pirouette, watch this again and be amazed.
I think him and Liam are very good, on an other level.
i went 2 see billy elliot on tuesday, it was AMAZING!!! it wasnt the same guy, cz tere r 4 billys, but he wz v v vvvv gd. each guy has a different dance 4 this, so the 1 i saw had more gymnastics and less spinning. i dont no how old leon cooke is, but the other ones are 12, 13, and 14.
his flips may not be wowing but he is an amazing dancer
Amazing musical seen it in the west end recently, i had the guy Travis yates off that cbbc program stupid.
he is FIERCE

i love him, shame hes not billy anymore

I imagine one song is no stretch when he was used to performing for almost 3 hours leading the show.
i,ve listened to a few of the versions of this song and think liam mower sings it the best
have you seen fox? x
the song is in a lower key for him as his voice was breaking at the time.
how old is he ? x
I just looked it up- he was 16
leon is 15, 16 in august.
Leons accent is so much better, sounds a lot more natural. Liams is actually shocking.
I dn't teach it, I'm LEARNING it, I'm TAKING lessons... Doing it.
i dont reckon it will be so good in the us. the dancing and singing will be just as good but people wont understand it as well because it is such an english musical. it will still be good though!
Which guy? Leon or the presenter? Or perhaps both?
yep it is =]
@TheFranklefurt he isnt off broadway... he's off the west end
He is 17 now.
I love his dancing but I prefer Liam Mower for voice and acting.
Leon is my cousin he is from newcastle under lyme....
who is he??
i got jamie bells autograph he signed a big poster from a scene in the movie
bad ass= very cool
Does hell move?

he is 15
@sxcbeffibbe14 Quite right. They are all fantastic
I can do a cartwheel on the floor
he can do one on a chair
*sob*
I saw Leon before his voice broke and it was much better. But this was a good performance -- poor guy, having to sing things high after your voice brakes!
dancing on any dream will do?
oh dont you know that show is for people who dont make any money. and have a dream to make some doing what they do. mabye he would if he won it ( which i dont know if he did or not, i doubt it)
Ollie Gardner is the best now!!
Elliott hanna is now the best Billy
It seems so much less emotion than when he use to preform it in his voice, then again I suppose this was more of a physical preformance then a dramatic preformance. :P

he looks like a blonde harry potter. (:
I dont like the fact that his voice sounds kinda low and lispy..
Excellent dancer, really excellent :D And to think I can't even do a basic cartwheel! Mind you, he looks a (tiny) bit too old to play billy elliot really. Just an opinion - Liam Mower looked younger
i think liam mower is best suited to be billy elliot :S
Billy Elliot is better then it
ye but that guy has a proper good talent so why shouldnt he dance?
Leon is NOT gay! He has a girlfriend!
Yeah he had a really good voice before it broke. I still think hes good though. Hes left the show now :(
liam is better and younger!
lol, compared to Billy Elliot, Jospeh is a lightweight of leading roles.
yh lol
