A love story it seems but when the movie came out in India, it kick started a storm of controversy because it questions the essence of religion given that India has way too many of those just like how it is portrayed in the movie. So it definitely has a serious social commentary undertone.

The whole point of this movie was to ask questions. Just like when a baby is born, naked, naïve, not knowing anything and when the baby grows up, the baby starts questioning the things we do. Apart from all the clichéd indian films recommendations people give, I would like to say you should Watch Tumbbad (2018). It's a horror/fantasy film, one of it's kind and has a mindblowing plot.
PK is one of my all time favourite movies. It's just absolutely brilliant in every way. The child-like enthusiasm and learning of PK just works so well to demonstrate all the silliness of religion and culture and it strips it all down to remind us of the important bits that we all share in common. And the fact it made all the fake godmen and other religious scammers enraged is a plus. It's not faith it insults or even religious customs, but the arrogant self-importance some people have about their own customs.

To reach this true self or eternal happiness a devotee concentrates & surrenders to diety & removes all falsified identifications by disciplined devotion. Hymns and mantras as well as temple combines elements in such a way to reverberate positive life energies and create pleasant atmosphere to experience divine . It looks impossible to carve a temple out of mountain that too with so much precision ,as to make kailas temple there were no space for mistakes for generating output of such unimaginable precision and nobody knows today how and where 400000 tones of rock was removed . With centuries of destruction, loot and attacks , most of the knowledge is lost due to which its even impossible for anyone to think of creating some of these mysterious structures today. A lot of magnificent knowledge is just lost but one mustn't stop trying to seek truth.

There are actual good priests and followers but there are also fake ones and scammers. Every religion has them but mostly in India as there are a large no. Of ppl struggling everyday and hope for better days by thinking of god but they are misguided by the ppl who take advantage of their suffering. If you still don't understand here is an example. A school with toprankers and best students in country but it also has students that have gotten away with serious crimes. The good students are the good ppl of the religion and the bad ppl are students that got away with crime. Aamir Khan is known for making movies with really good general messages. Youve seen 3 Idiots and this one, Ill suggest: - Lagaan (Indians form a cricket team and play against the ruling british team under british occupied india) - Dangal (former wrestler gets his daughters into the wrestling world dominated by boys) - Mangal Pandey: The Rising (1800s indians form a rebel alliance! against the british) So, Aamir Khan is considered a 'lead male' in his movies so that's one of the reasons he's ripped - typical Bollywood movies have this ripped, muscular lead male who can fight, is handsome...etc, etc. Oh and at the end the other guy who was with him, the other alien, that's another lead male actor, so it was a cameo and people were super surprised, obviously I dont expect non-indian viewers to get that. But yeah, really enjoying these Indian movie reactions - really consider one of the movies I wrote above. Thanks!

Rajkumar Hirani's filmmaking style is not everyone's cup of tea. He uses melodrama nd over the top direction to tell the story. There's lot to discover. There's good content too.

You missed the entire point of the movie. Tappasvi was not a representor of hindu, he was a con artist who use people's love for their religion to manipulate them for his own selfish goals. (Happens alot In real world) Lord shiva running was nothing but a mere funny scene meant to keep the plot moving. It not meant to be laughed at the god but to laugh on the absurdity of the situation used for hahas, by this logic the movie "dream girl" must be a propaganda too since it had a radha played by a male and the entire movie revolved around the joke he is good at playing radha And sarfraz was the proving point that all Muslims are not evil, that the movie stated hundred times. They showed muslims bombing a train not deviating from reality but sarfraz's character showed that a person can be good or bad irrespective of their religion The tragedy is that even tho the movie spilled out its core message several times your too dumb to understand, you are already brain washed into thinking every religion which is not yours is filled with evil people that wants to hurt you and your religion is the only one with good and kind hearted people. Its not a propaganda movie, it was an eye opener for extremist, but you just want to live in a box. Good luck with that.
You possibly coudnot get the funny moments with these horrible subtitles. It only explain the context but the everything that PK talks about is roughly based on the data he collected from that "lady sex worker" who is not educated. @Satvik Hollywood balances things out. It doesn't go overboard to attack the faith or it's fundamental the way Urduwood does and in the amount urduwood does. Howllywood movies don't show minor daughter of the hero refusing to go to church and then doing namaz. Hollywood movie hero doesn't reject church but runs around with 786. Hollywood movie would not show a movie made on knight templers where knight templar would sing song about beauty of "aayat" of koran. Nor they make a movie giving it a title of " Jesus bomb" where they show jesus and church useless and a gree person comes with koran to solve their problem, Someone like Amir criticize Hinduism because he knows know will send him to pakistan despite making PK. A school with toprankers and best students in country but it also has students that have gotten away with serious crimes. I relived the movement I first watched this movie. It broke Bollywood record at that time.
Aamir Khan is known for making movies with really good general messages. Youve seen 3 Idiots and this one, Ill suggest:
- Lagaan (Indians form a cricket team and play against the ruling british team under british occupied india)
- Dangal (former wrestler gets his daughters into the wrestling world dominated by boys)
- Mangal Pandey: The Rising (1800s indians form a rebel alliance! against the british)
So, Aamir Khan is considered a 'lead male' in his movies so that's one of the reasons he's ripped - typical Bollywood movies have this ripped, muscular lead male who can fight, is handsome...etc, etc. Oh and at the end the other guy who was with him, the other alien, that's another lead male actor, so it was a cameo and people were super surprised, obviously I dont expect non-indian viewers to get that. But yeah, really enjoying these Indian movie reactions - really consider one of the movies I wrote above. Thanks!

It's unbelievable that for Brihadeswar temple such heavy granite objects were moved at top where there is no nearby granite at all, here during noon no shadow fall on ground. Sorroundings & Astronomy were always taken care of.
As Hindus have many non theistic schools of thoughts also ,There are various darshans and deities for different types of individuals ,some don't require diety for concentration but many non focused people require support to reach ultimate consciousness .After pran pratista To reach this true self or eternal happiness a devotee concentrates & surrenders to diety & removes all illusionary identifications(maya)/ego by disciplined devotion. Great smell of Sandalwood & Agarbatti, Hymns in various languages and sanskrit mantras as well as temple combines elements in such a way to reverberate positive life energies and create pleasant atmosphere to experience divine .
It looks impossible to carve a temple out of mountain that too with so much precision ,as to make kailas temple there were no space for mistakes for generating output of such unimaginable precision and nobody knows today how and where 400000 tones of rock was removed . Lord shiva running was nothing but a mere funny scene meant to keep the plot moving. It not meant to be laughed at the god but to laugh on the absurdity of the situation used for hahas, by this logic the movie "dream girl" must be a propaganda too since it had a radha played by a male and the entire movie revolved around the joke he is good at playing radha
And sarfraz was the proving point that all Muslims are not evil, that the movie stated hundred times. They showed muslims bombing a train not deviating from reality but sarfraz's character showed that a person can be good or bad irrespective of their religion
The tragedy is that even tho the movie spilled out its core message several times your too dumb to understand, you are already brain washed into thinking every religion which is not yours is filled with evil people that wants to hurt you and your religion is the only one with good and kind hearted people. Its not a propaganda movie, it was an eye opener for extremist, but you just want to live in a box. Good luck with that.
