As far as the first two episodes of The Winchesters...it seems pretty obvious they were channeling Sam when they wrote for John and Dean when they wrote for Mary. Just rewatch the episode and imagine "Sam" when ever John is talking, and "Dean" whenever Mary is talking. Honestly it's sort of fun to rewatch it that way 😉
But it makes me wonder if they will develop John's character to go more stern, no nonsense, and dark prior to Mary's death or will that change be made after?

I never thought Supernatural was scary. I always thought it was a comedy-horror. I guess I've always watched it differently.
As for The Winchesters....The CW is over. The Winchesters was a good show and it was very clever.

Mary was a already a hunter Jon was just a mechanic. That’s what I don’t get about both of them hunting together I literally watched all the seasons of supernatural and know their whole life from the show

I love the technical side of the show a lot. Camera work, editing as well as the sets and costumes. I am impressed with the diverse cast and yey to more women hunters. But with all the exposition talk happening all the time, I wish we were "shown" a bit more and not told... Maybe it is not an issue for new viewers and it seems to get better. Also, it is quite creepy and scary. They got me with 2 or 3 jump scares already 😅
Overall, I am pleasantly surprised and definitely curious to get to know our new "monster club" as well as our new monsters 👻🧟♂🧛♀
In the real show Mary was toxically codependent just like everyone else in her family but can’t have flaws in women anymore so I guess she is independent now.
Of course it's 2022. Annoying how everyone in movies and TV thinks strong and flawless are basically the same...
Sorry, John came back and died again in season 14 with the wish. Because he had a physical form and went back to heaven, and when they tried to end Kelly Kline and Jack when she was still pregnant, they said they when a human goes to heaven their physical form dies.

Yeah, strong independant woman who kick ass are basically nowhere to be found in recent TV and movies...I think the two episodes are kind of fun, nothing close to the original, but the original earned their fanbase slowly, but the marketing is absolutely cringe and the hype they`re trying to built around it artificial. Give it time and don`t try to force it so hard.

As of about 6 hours ago, I 've watched "The Winchesters", and I can't wait for the next episode. As for those who've bashed the pilot let me point out that they're probably the same ones who didn't like the pilot of "Supernatural" either, and would have been happy to have it dropped before the second episode. We have to remember that this is NOT "Supernatural", but that the showrunner for SPN was consulted and signed off on "Winchesters", thought it was a good idea, and our man Jensen and his wife Daneel are the creators, so it also has the "Dean" stamp on it. You don't like it, you're free to chose something else, but I think it's going to be as big or bigger than the original. Been hearing guff about continuity, but this is the PREQUEL, a story that we've only had small tastes of before. I like the way it's going, it's a story that was only hinted at in SPN. AND the premise is the same as SPN "Dad's on a hunting trip and he hasn't been seen in a few days", and we all know how that opened up. Well, now we're looking for Samuel, the dad who went on a hunting trip. It's a look into the history of both families and how they deal with the circumstances. We may even get a glimpse into more past generations of the Campbells and the Winchesters. I sure hope so. Time to stop canceling things just because a couple of people don't like something. I do like this, and I hope the show gets the time and exposure it needs to become part of the legend of "saving people, hunting things">
Amen! My thoughts exactly. it took me years to watch Supernatural because I assumed I would get too scared. I finally watched during quarantine and became addicted. I decided not to have any pre-conceived notions about The Winchesters and so far I love it.
I hope that The Winchester will get renewed up to 15 season

And anyway Jensen got most of the questions right and some of these questions were difficult, I didn't know the answers to them either and I just recently finished watching SPN.
@@iamlinda100 The problem is they established themselves as an encyclopedia and keep reassuring people of their understanding of canon. If you are gonna boast about your knowledge like that you better back it up. If they hadn't said that no one would give them a hard time. It wasn't a difficult question either. It was actually a very easy question that you could figure out just with common sense. We know Mary dies when Sam is a baby so why would he have been born in 1990? The math doesn't work out.
Congratulations Jensen and Danneel; you guys have knocked it out of the park with "The Winchesters". I am loving what I am seeing so far; keep up the wonderful work.
