Hi, when you using googlemaps mirror on hud is it possible to turn off smartfon screen?
Looking to grab one of these for my ride. I need to ask are the displays noticeable from the front especially at night. For example the car in front looks back? Because from my understanding what we as the driver see is the reflecting of the device right?
Hi deeznuts! Correct, the reflection is towards the driver, from the outside the only thing that is visible is the small projector, which considering it's size I don't think people will spot easily unless they are very close to the car. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Thanks for the video mate. Do you think adding another layer of polarized film to the displays of these HUDs helps with the better visibility of the displays in sun? Also is the display visible from the passenger side?
You're welcome Omid! I don't think it will since the reflector used on this HUDs is usually a specialized coating (the reflector is also curved) so a layer of a different material applied to it may just have a detrimental effect. Cheers!

You're welcome! Ah yes It could totally be done (just remember your car only has one OBD2 port, so if you want to use the OBD2 adapter instead of cigarette lighter plug, one HUD will plug into OBD2 port and the 2nd HUD will plug on the cigarette lighter socket (again this only applies if you want to use the OBD2 adapter) Cheers! @@omidyoutube

Hi, do you know if both are working on plug in hybrid cars ?
Hi Ene! Usually OBD2 adapters don't play well with Hybrids or EV Vehicles. While I had viewers use them with success others said it didn't work correctly for them, really seems to depend on the car model (and sometime year). So I would recommend the Hudway instead of the C1 since the Hudway can be used without the OBD2 adapter (since it runs off it's own App) Hope this helps, Cheers!

OBD2 works with the car's ECU computer, so whatever the HUD displays is pretty accurate. There's no need for updating.

Do you think it possible to take the glass off that came with product and just use the projector it has on a windshield made for HUD? I dont like how it has a glass instead of displaying on your windshield but I’m willing to buy the product and changing my windshield to the same windshield that’s on my 2020 Toyota Camry that has HUD directly on the windshield the brands called Pilkington
Hi Villy! The Projection screen has special coatings to allow the projection to be seen easier and aimed correctly to your eye line (height). While I think it may be possible to remove the original projection screen to project onto a reflective film or a windshield that supports a HUD, I'm no sure how bright the projection will be and you will loose the ability to aim the display so it can be seen by multiple drivers of different heights. But if you try it out and it works please let us know. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Can you just get a HUD insalled into your car and a compatible windshield with it? I have a 2022 Buick encore gx select...
Hi Sally! Correct, on some new cars, you can get the HUD option from factory. However if you did not opt for the HUD at the time of purchase, retrofitting a HUD would be difficult as factory HUD's are embedded into the dash so your dash cam would have to be replaced or a hole cut into it. In addition the car's computer and sensors would have to be integrated into the HUD. This is one of the reasons aftermarket HUDs are usually mounted on top as opposed to inside the vehicle's dash as that would be very labor intensive and expensive (labor plus all the HUD components). Cars that come equipped with a HUD from factory usually also have a HUD ready windshield. This would mean that your car's windshield likely would also not be HUD ready if you did not get the HUD from factory which again would be another cost to consider. Cheers!

I was hoping for a good HUD that projects image onto windshield. Im looking for something that looks clean and seamless.
Hi! Yeah that's probably the biggest advantage of an OEM HUD since it projects the image directly onto a specially treated windshield (normal windshields are not HUD ready and suffer from double image and low reflective surface creating a dim image if attempting to project images onto them) The other advantage of OEM HUDs since they are included from factory is that they can be hidden from view since they are usually integrated inside the dash something that can't currently be done with aftermarket HUDs without cutting into the dash of the car. Hopefully more car brands will start offering it as an option when ordering a new car. Cheers!

Which one is most accurate with speedometer? Is there much lag?
Hi 12! The speedometer on your vehicle is likely to be closer to your speed in terms of lag (accuracy and precision would require the speedometer to be calibrated to a standard to confirm the actual speed). The speed shown by the HUD is pulled from the GPS. For applications where we see gauges requiring the lowest lag (typically for racing purposes, like speed or RPM) those directly tap the car electrical system's wiring (usually physically connected to ignition and other sensors) to get the fastest response possible. Hi! It's available but the backlog to get one is long. If you can't wait and need one now, I would consider the C1 or you can always check Ebay for the Hudway, I seen them come up every so often there (probably from scalpers who ordered early to resell ugh) but be prepared to pay a premium if you want to bypass the line and get one on Ebay. You can order one with the link in the video description but as you can see on their website their batches sell out fast so there will be a wait for it. Why cannot it put the images on the real window? Small plastic is cheap.
Hi Lou! Normal windshields are not ready to accept HUD projection from the factory (unless the car is equipped with a HUD from the factory). There are HUD projection films available, here is one amzn.to/3DjLZHN However they are not common since they are reflective and transparent from drivers view but from the outside view, they appear someone opaque (kind of hard to describe, think of it as blurry silver window film tint if seen from the outside of the car which can cause trouble with LEO) Cheers!
