@@DanTurnerbouldering hahaha i get that feeling the summer 2018 i sendt somethinge many people considerd hard in the city i live in, one freind of me got me to record a video of all my recorded attempts as i recorded all attempts after i had done every move sapratly, the route was qite easy for me but very long which made it so i in my mind dowgraded it know for a fact that with all attempts before i did every move i had at least 100-200 attempts in it, the video ended up at 78 attempts, but cause the boulder was long i dedicated allot of time building up the pump for the route, if you wanna check the boulder out i have the video on my channel and it's quite long cause i did so many attempts in one video, ended up linking the last attempt in the description. the name of the video is somethinge with battle with venus passasjen.
Really enjoying the videos from your trip, it looks incredible. Could you talk about how you got confident climbing higher boulders, I'd be interested in any advice you have?
Cheers bud. Interesting, guess it’s not really something I have thought about. I would say that I am not massively confident in my own climbing abilities, thus, I don’t really ground up any highballs. The majority of the time it’s pre practiced, (rope/ladder) so you kinda know what’s coming and where it safe to fall off. I guess the best advice is try and be as good and well rounded climber as possible so you can operate on most movements! Also, be confident that you can fall off from pretty high 😃
Hi Dan! Can you tell me why in Black pearl you used a solution for left and skwama for right? In your opinion what are the main differences? Keep the good work :)
Generally my favourite shoe is a solution, so mainly wear them wear possible, but they are sometimes not great for certain heel hooks. Skwama heels/ futuras are pretty squishy and I find you get more surface area on slippy heels. Watch Guilty for hilti, notice I use a futura for my right, I recon I might have done it first sesh with that boot combo!!!
