I say this every time he’s in a video, but Ed is such a good coach. He communicates his methods so well. I just hope his diary is open again next year so I can book a lesson or two 😂
Ive been shooting sporting clays for 30 years and enjoy it very much even though Im not the greatest. Before that though I learned shooting clays as a way to help when hunting, so gun was always held in the way you would in the field hunting. And Ive yet to see anyone walk a field hunting pheasant with a gun shouldered. If I did I doubt Id want to hunt with them. Id like to see someone who just shoots pro sporting clay shooter would do in a hunt without shoulder ready and knowing before hand were, how fast, direction and from what direction the target is coming from.
Brilliant video! I believe its 25 cm from the top of the shoulder to the chest. ....the safety on that Longthorne gets its exercise well enough 😉 Anyway. Could you do a special on Ed Solomons K-80? Perhaps a little comparison between the two guns?
We shoot 'casual' sporting at our general (pistol, rifle and shotgun) shooting club....and we have always shot 'gun down'... it used to be compulsory, but lately I have noticed a lot shoot with gun mounted...... I was taught 'gun down' so usually shoot that way. Due to covid and advanced age (80 now) I am not getting any better, but I can work on that. Watching these videos is instructive.... 🙂
Boy I got my work cut out for me. You look to be shooting very well Jonny. Looking forward to a lesson with Ed. Then maybe I have a chance of bettering you. Great video. Much appreciated. 👍👍
Another fascinating video, I finally get the intricacies of FITASC. However, as I can barely hit anything at Sporting I think I'll pass on this 🤣 I do like Ed's style and young Mr. Carter really seems to be coming along!
Great Video ! Johnny, could you please share with us what gun you are shooting in this video, it appears to be a real gem in my eyes. thank you and please keep the videos coming.
Jonny getting more professional help, while Ant is no doubt needing to work for a living somewhere. ;-) More seriously, good video with some insight, and beautiful place and day for some shooting.
What do these shooters (and other UK shooters) think of american trap? Thats what i have shot mostly, but watching these videos makes me want to try out some other disciplines.
Now i like shooting in the woods like crows coming in or woodies you never talk about the huge lack of gun ownership in england in the 70 there was much more plius now oi hear police are taking them away you all better get involved i moved to freedom land see non of you ever talk about deffending youresf against thugs i understand english people dont like taking about this i have my pwn layout its fun
Ed is the definition of a coach! .... no bs directly to the point in a lunguage that anybody who shoots can understand!!!
I say this every time he’s in a video, but Ed is such a good coach. He communicates his methods so well. I just hope his diary is open again next year so I can book a lesson or two 😂
Ed, a excellent teacher. Thanks for the video.
Ed seems like a very likeable chap and his passion comes across in his teachings. Good stuff guys
My son and I get so much from these two. Thank you gentlemen.
At my club there is always so much confusion around certain discipline's and rules. Would be great to see more of ed shooting with TGS 👍

your channel is a big win for clayshooters !!
I’m new to this. And fitasc is what I’m aiming at. It’s awesome.
A couple of days ago I became a member of this UA-cam channel. Today I finally scored a date on Tinder. Coincidence? I think not
Ed is the freaking man. I hope he comes to the states again soon. I gotta meet him
I shot fitasc for the first time 2 weeks ago loved it. I'm talking another crack at fitasc in 3 weeks. Thanks for your making these shows.
That Longthorne is working nice for you Jonny.
Great videos guys!
Love Ed’s teaching style!

I love these two. So informative with friendly shooting. What is the typical target distance or range in FITASC?

🤞🏼 you can get over soon mate

great content Jonny! New gun looks like it fits like a glove!

Clear, concise, no BS and easy to understand. Not a narcissistic ego to heard or tattoo to be seen anywhere 🙏🏻
Great video would be nice to talk about what chokes you would use in these disciplines for us amateurs
Jonny getting more professional help, while Ant is no doubt needing to work for a living somewhere. ;-)
More seriously, good video with some insight, and beautiful place and day for some shooting.
How did Ant manage to give this a thumbs up twice 😂
@@tgsoutdoors it was probably him and Ed. ;-)

Excellent video, you are a pretty good shot.
Fantastic video 👍 very informative and a great insight into the discipline
Future video request. Can you do a Video where you explain and show flight path of a target by name
Crow, Roller.etc
Excellent video Johnny, I'd love a lesson with Ed one day!
I'm not convinced Ed's mum couldn't hit a battue
I heard it was actually his mum Who won the world title …
Question. When you are shooting O/R do you have to unmount your gun to the holding point or can you keep it mounted ?
It’s always good Bideo With that man excellent
When shooting doubles may you keep the gun mounted or must you drop to the ready position for the second bird?
Around the 15 minute mark Ed says you don't need to dismount, and he recommended on that shot to stay mounted
Really good 👍
I like FITASC Because targets tend to be extreme and I don't feel as bad when I miss because of the nature of the targets
Very imformative video , could you just quote the chokes you using & cartridge size .
All Hull Cartridge, All 1/2 choke
60-90m - Hull Pro One
100-120 - Hull Sovereign 6.5
130 - 3” hull mega bombs (can’t remember which exact load)
FITASC - Fairly Impossible Targets At Sporting Clays
Great video as usual. Both guns are beautiful, could you provide the brands and models? Looking forward to your next video.
ED shoots a Kreighoff. Jonny's gun is mentioned in the other comments.
@@neodutch thanks
Knew I couldn’t afford either
It’s bollocks 💪💪
I reckon that Ed might have done it before you know... just a feeling ive got.. 😀
John, what gun was you using? It look's gorgeous
See other comments.
Takes time to write a plebby answer but not the decency to answer the question with the correct answer! 🤷♂️🤦♂️
It will be interesting to see this done with steel shot when lead is banned.
absolutely no problem with FITASC when using steel, only the really extreme birds
My Mrs hates it when I dry mount
What gun is Ed using?
Ed sure got the owl hoot going on 🦉🦉
It was the end of a long day, the filters where most definitely worn out
Ed is a great teacher and a true UK treasure. Please keep up excellent videos 👍👍
Back out with him this month
Does physical fitness come into it 😂. ........ George digweed 🤣
Skeet and Trap is hard enough! Lol
What 😎 is Mr Carter sporting
How is this different from 5 Stand?
You shoot from a hoop, for a very different set of targets, in a different order from a gun down position….
…1.42…JC…I’ve heard…Awwkwaaaard,
Pans down to Ed's feet, I'm surprised he's not wearing snake skin boots.
“It’s how long is a piece of string”
One big owl forgot to show up.
25cm from the apex of your shoulder axis is the measurement.
I am a Trumpet!!!!!!!!!!!
...trumpet...😏🎺🎺🎺
I only just realised Ed is a leftie……doh! Who can tell me which shotguns are being used here?
Ed is on a Kreighoff K80
Jonny a Longthorne Trigger Plate

Can he do random?
Seems to be highly relying on 💤💤
Come on
With respect, couldn't ask for a better coach
terrible trigger discipline
Chillax Seal Team Six.
You should have seen where he had his finger before we started…
Fairly sure he wasn’t demonstrating how to shoot a rifle!!! C🐔🐔K
Does physical fitness help? Old, frail, FAT! I think you'll find in the world of Tweed, we are called "Portly"! 😉
