You are comparing apples and oranges. Drafting a qb top 10 when you just paid a QB a huge contract is not the same as benching a young QB for a veteran you didn't pay much at all. How do you think that is comparable? The Falcons shouldn't have paid Kirk to draft a qb top 10, and the Panthers could have done a better job with Bryce Young as well.

Well, it was their first game together and Kirk hadn't played in a year. Besides that, the Steelers pass rush is legit. The team will do everything to protect Captain Kirk....and Kirko Chainz. It's well known that Kirk does really well against the blitz and pressure. He is also one of the best at play action, boots and designed roll-outs. He is also damn accurate throwing on the run. All of that that helps with the pressure and blitz. The Vikings' pass protection was bottom of the league. He’s had to rely on timing and anticipation to beat defenses. And now with a far better o-line, Kirk can be deadly.

I developed a formula to analyze a quarterbacks career and have studied all the great quarterbacks whose careers started after 1947. The formula is based on how far above the average quarterback a quarterback is when compared to the average quarterback of their own era. Kirk comes out as the 20th best per game played. Then my formula takes longevity into consideration and Kirk falls on the list but even if he quit right now his career would score about 430 points. 400 points makes you a legit Hall of Famer and there are 9 quarterbacks already in the Hall of Fame that don't score as well as Kirk does.

In Week 1, the Falcons faced the Arthur Smith led offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it's no surprise at all that the Steelers won that game. As for the Falcons and Eagles, Kellen now knows that Barkley is far from a sure thing in the passing game, so I would imagine he wouldn't make that same call in that situation in the future. You simply don't throw to a RB who has the most drops amongst RBs since 2021 if you're trying to run out the clock. But we'll see if the Eagles grow and learn. I will believe that the Falcons are a contender when I see it.

A week 2 game-winning drive does not mean they are automatically Super Bowl contenders. A lot can change over the season. A game-winning drive in week 16 or 17 against a top-tier team is a better indicator. In actuality, only the 4 teams that make it to the championship game are bonafide Super Bowl contenders. And we don't know that until it happens.

If Saquan would have caught that pass, the critics would not be blaming the coordinator as much. When you trust in your offense and your guys you make aggressive calls and they just don’t pull through for the coach. Can’t blame coaching on that play. It was open and they sold the run well.

What are the Falcons missing? 2 Top Tier Running Backs, Legitimate Run Stuffer in Grady Jarrett, legitimate pass rush in Judon, 2 top tier receivers, highly rated o line, best safety duo in the nfl (not even close). The roster is not perfect--but to say we are not a Super Bowl contender based on talent is a stretch. And if Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer can win a super bowl so can cousins.

A week 2 game-winning drive does not mean they are automatically Super Bowl contenders. A lot can change over the season. A game-winning drive in week 16 or 17 against a top-tier team is a better indicator. In actuality, only the 4 teams that make it to the championship game are bonafide Super Bowl contenders. And we don't know that until it happens.

@@aximus11 Kirk had a lot of one score games because he had defenses giving 25-30 points per game. You cant win consistently while giving up more points than you're scoring. Even worse when you're a top 10 scoring offense

If Saquan would have caught that pass, the critics would not be blaming the coordinator as much. When you trust in your offense and your guys you make aggressive calls and they just don’t pull through for the coach. Can’t blame coaching on that play. It was open and they sold the run well.

What are the Falcons missing? 2 Top Tier Running Backs, Legitimate Run Stuffer in Grady Jarrett, legitimate pass rush in Judon, 2 top tier receivers, highly rated o line, best safety duo in the nfl (not even close). The roster is not perfect--but to say we are not a Super Bowl contender based on talent is a stretch. And if Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer can win a super bowl so can cousins.
